My brother is going thru all the above. We had an article in our local paper. The man with a thick accent happened to call the editor about a warrant. Was written up in our paper. Joke was on him. Bottom line--heavy accent, high pressure, warrant threats, loans, give them a hard time back. I love talking to them now. Don't get upset. Thats want they want. They love to intimidate you. This website is excellent. I try to get phone number and address, especially for my bro since he has no computer. Scared the hell out of him though. Thank you for this website and if its too good to be true its a scam. If they want you to pay anything, its a scam. Hope this helps. Once you get used to the threats, play along and make them use their time. I give fake green dot numbers etc. You can pull header info if you know how. My computer access with not even let gmail go thru or let me send to them. Thats why I don't use gmail. Too many free ones out there now. Thank you again.
Don't worry, bc every single threat they have made to you, is illegal. A collection agent/agency cannot call you at your work, cannot call you before/after normal business hours, cannot call and harass your friends, neighbors or family, and a really big one is that they cannot threaten that you will be arrested if you don't pay up. The police are not going to show up at your door, rest assured. This is so blatantly illegal in so many ways, YOU can file a complaint to all the proper agencies, and even call the police and tell them that you are being harassed and threatened by telephone, to the point where you're ready to have a total meltdown. Your right to privacy, and peace, is being grossly violated. Keep reporting to the Fed Trade Commission and the Attorney General's Office for your state. And the next time they call, before they can get one word out, tell them that you have reported them to the aforementioned authorities and the police and every call they make is digging them deeper and deeper into a hole, bc they are breaking the law and you are very aware of your rights and will use every one of them to make a case against them. Then hang up, and don't answer their calls anymore, ever. Making a report is easy to do, you can do it online or by phone. These very bad people need to be squashed. Good luck to you.

I received a call from 8668579143 regarding a payday loan and my bank account was closed and I totally forgot about it. Theyre saying I would get served and have called my place of employee wanting to serve me. If i would have gotten some kind of notification i would have certainly paid it back. They are asking for my bank information so i can do installment payment

I have just gotten the exact same call...a company supposedly named national assist recovery...and they said the loan was throjgh sagamore...sayin i have an outstanding payday loan that was not paid off back from 2012...they had all of my information...the point that shocked me was dates were not adding up and my bank confirmed that i never had a loan deposited into my account...supposedly if i didnt pay i was going to jail...dont listen to these people

Yes they are all scammers!!! They got me 2 before I found out that they are scammers. The last time they got me was a few years ago when they started cleaning out our account. They like to threaten cuss at you call your work. I am tired of it I do not answer anymore. I was blessed to have amazing friends when I told them after getting over feeling embaraced about having to pay. They told me it is a scam by the next day is when they started stealing our money. I had supplied them with all my info thinking I would go to Jail. Well call me stupid when I believed some thief. The first time was a man heavy accent. Then got harrassed again after I knew what they do. I yelled back and said some not nice things. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM!!!

Red Flags, Process servers don't call you in advance to tell you they are coming nor do they give you a last chance to pay up and If the dates are wrong then their tail is long!

Scammers
Im guessing this is a scam as well. A lady called me from a supposed litigation company (sounded very American) saying that I had to either settle or pay two installation payments over the next two months over a loan I supposedly took out in April of 2012, something my bank account statement shows zero indication of from a company called Sagamore. I asked for proof of the debt and she stated she couldn't give me anything and told me that they would call my HR and/or Court Martial me. The whole thing smells ludicrous....

Just received an email from Kevin Harris for Attroney Mike Brown of New York. Stating that they have a legal lawsuit and arrest warrant against my name and SSN: This is exactly what was written: Hello this attorney - Mike Brown here & the reason to send you this email is to inform you that we have receive a legal law suit & arrest warrant against your name as well as your social security number so kindly contact us back on email-Judicialcircuitoftheunitedstates786@outlook.com if i didn't get a response from you in the next 3 hour then you are going to be arrested by you local county sherriff so don't try to disregard this notice & do reply thank you. This exactly what was written, bad grammar, no punctuation. The arrest warrant is just as bad. Can anyone do anything about these scammers?
Sounds like it was typed up, copied, pasted into google translate to English, copied and pasted into an email. Quite the crappy wording for any law firm wouldn't you say?

Just received a call from a guy named Brian Flynn. Guy called my office and gave information to our front desk receptionist saying that he needed to speak with me regarding some legal paperwork he needed to get to me. I am a paralegal and have never dealt with a Brian Flynn and am not currently dealing with a man by that name. He also wouldn't give the girl the name of the company who he was calling with. She gave me his number and I will be calling him back to ask question. It was very odd.
Adding to what I said, I also looked up the phone number he gave me and the first thing that pops up is this website with information about a payday loan repayment scam. So we will see.
Wow, I know I would immediately believe that letter! It is just missing the "we are going to drag you to the coat house" and the "okay, okay, okay". I know they are imbeciles but do they really think WE all are? [:]
