Fake payday loan collection scams - Please list new numbers here [2]

receive a call at my job from a robert cohen threating me, they will come up to my job and lock me up....I call the number back 814-289-8207 a chiness man kept yelling, saying you are going to jail, you will spend 6 months behind bars, you will lose your job at the bank, they knew the name of my bank and everything.......then i receive a 911 call later that day to advise me of a legal document and a warrent for my arrest from Alex Watson office....then they hung up....

it's all a load of crap.  Well I can tell you that 814 has been popping up alot lately, I received a call from an 814 number about 1 month ago, didn't answer but I traced the number back to the engineering building at Penn State University.  Most likely a spoofed number.  Looks like you have two spoofed numbers one from 911 and the other from the 814 number.   What an idiot this guy is.  If he calls back tell him he might be the one going to jail after you report him to the FBI and FTC.

you can also ask him if he has a boyfriend, and if he doesn't it's ok because he'll have plenty of time to find one behind bars.  Just in case you didn't know, no law enforcement agency calls you from a number that appears on your ID as "911"

I don't think that the posts are about legitimate payday lenders. Instead, they are referring to scammers such as PDLR. Everyone should BEWARE that there are people out there who intimidate, threaten, and verbally abuse people for a living. Any legitimate company would never call you on your job and leave threats of wage garnishments. When in doubt, check them out! Most times if they are scammers, someone has already reported them. You are probably not the only one the scammers have tried to steal money from.

I have been getting these calls.. I can handle it, ever since I had online payday loans 3 years ago this has happened. The real problem is that they are digging up phone numbers for relatives! Now my mother in law is upset, I have lost a friend over them calling her, and my husbands ex-wife and her new husband have even been called. Not to mention they call my work incessantly. It is literally ruining my life and I don't know what to do. How can these people get away with this crap??The newest number calling is Florida 3215944463. they don't leave a message with me but they sure talk up my relatives.. telling them they;re investigating me for check fraud. Isn't that illega? It smells very much like libel to me.

I received the same call and number for don silver telling me they taking me to court and said i owe 576.76 and then brought the price down to 502.76 and said by monday please pay. I wanted to read about my rights and see what people are saying now i am going to call him back and ask for paperwork and see what he says.

646-929-3731 516-515-0004. There has also been 2 other numbers that I have been called from, but these are the newest ones. This guy is claiming to be David Cooper. He is harassing me non stop. When I say non stop I mean it. 10-11 phone calls a day, vulgar comments, from 6am-1130pm. I told him to quit calling and he said he would for 250 dollars. I told him he was not getting money from me. Now it is down to $50. He called this evening and told my husband to "Put your f*ing b****, Reanda on the phone." And that I was "Sucking his **** earlier". I have started calling them back and harassing them, but he is relentless. I am waiting to see if he will call tomorrow. I already filed complaints. Its just ridiculous, especially since I have a 4 month old at home.

(716) 213-6545 Robert Wilson called and said he is a process server and that he would serve me unless I called the number back to stop him.  I asked what is it about he said he did not know and that the envelope was sealed.  I told him to send me written information about the debt and he said NO I then told him not to call me at work and hung up on him.  He did NOT show up to serve me but did call my work back and told the person who answered that I am under criminal investigation !!  he also called my parents and told them I committed fraud.

You cannot be sent to jail for a debt.  Thenext time you are threatend like that, act like you are falling for it, get the name of the company, and their address... tell them you want to send a payment.  then call an attorney and sue them. they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and you WILL win the suit and WILL be awarded a cash settlement- keep really good records of the calls and letters, and record the calls if you can.  It is illegal for them to threaten you or intimidate you.  Rudeness, unfortunately is not illegal, so expect that.

Process servers don't call and warn you they are coming.  Call your local Clerk of Court's office and see if a suit has been filed. If it has, the Sheriff's deputy will serve it.  Trust me, they don't call in advance.

Also, if they told your employer that, get the name and address of the company and file suit in Federal court siting their violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  They will be fined, and you will be awarded the money.
