    Alert:

404 area code calls are linked to ID theft. Call your Time Warner Cable company and if they say the number you are calling from is area code "404" or specifically "404-827-1500" than someone is gotten a hold of your TWC account and more and billing it up and possibly all accounts. This is serious, we just tracked it down from mid September 2014.

We lost 9k in income tax refunds, our student loans doubled, a credit card was opened in our name and our TWC account went like this:

    August: $139.00
    September: $164.00
    October: $208.00
    November: $209.00
    December: $229.00
    January: $231.00 and so on.

    You all please be careful!

PS: And the thing is we have not given our SSN to a sole in the last 6 years except the IRS, the GSL loans.

I have started to get these 404 calls and I never answer them. They are around my local area, but if I don't recognize the number I don't answer. It's a different number each time they call.

Here we go again!  We're going to revive a thread that's been dormant for nearly three years to complain about the entire city of Atlanta, which has been taken over by aliens from the planet Robocall, whose sole mission on earth is to disturb you into posting stupid messages here instead of posting or seeing real information in the number threads!

But why stop there when we can enlarge this thread into reporting ALL 10-DIGIT NUMBERS????

That's right!  Here we go again!  Report ALL your junk calls, advertisers, scammers, wrong number calls, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum RIGHT HERE IN THIS ONE THREAD FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE!

There.  Wasn't that fun, boys and girls?

If you have any complaints about this post, please print them out and address them to:

    Little Round Wastebasket
    Next To Your Desk
City Landfill, Your State & Zip

That way, they will rest in peace next to all the posts that will eventually appear in this thread.

Never mind the PC types.  I can understand why you might want to scream after what you've been through.

I got a call saying it was the IRS in a clipped robo call. It sounded pieced together and said it was a final call be for the sue me...? Sue me? For what, I did not ever get any letters just a call from a 'Unknown' caller leaving a 404 number.... Not calling back - sounded too fake - Like a Nigeria scam.

I'm sure it was fake, and the scammer probably was in Nigeria.  However can you post this under the appropriate number thread so others may see it there?

Encouraging a more intelligent use of this site is not political correctness. It's an effort to help Admin manage the thousands of posts coming along each month, by prodding people to examine where and what they post and why .... before turning entire threads into stream-of-consciousness landfills which wreck the site's utility to other readers.

The argument of "people can vent all they want" does not wash when people need answers sooner and not later regarding mysterious swindlers and fearmongering criminals. If we did not have sympathy for potential victims, there would be no movement to improve the site's efficiency.

When the entire paragraph, especially a long paragraph, is all caps, it is hard to read.

For an example, read the ingredients label on packaged food. Easy to read when the list is short, extremely difficult to read when the list is long. The boxed frozen dinners of the Banquet brand are like this. Go now to your grocery store and look in the frozen food aisles !!

"hard to read" what are you partially illiterate?  I'm guessing rotary phones were probably hard for you to dial too.  Just because something is hard for you to read, doesn't make it hard for everyone, because everyone is not partially illiterate.

Are you bored?  Do you have nothing better to do than resuscitate zombie threads?
