Keep getting home improvement scam calls. Decided to have a little fun with one of them.

Except that phone numbers are so commonly spoofed that posting under specific numbers rarely yields a repeat entry any more.  I will occasionally still check numbers, and haven't had a single "hit" the last twenty times I've looked one up.

Yes, you are right because of spoofed number, we can't trust anything and anybody, but this Forum thread doesn't help either. Now and then comes to life some old Forum thread without any useful information.
And here we are chit chatting, see, it is pleasant :) but...that's my point.

The reason for recording calls, even if they are spoofed numbers, is because attorneys/FTC/FCC, etc. are getting smarter and using the information provided in those reports to help sue/shutdown offenders.

I agree, 90% of the forum threads here are useless, redundant, and a waste of space.

 * Swiftly hanging up is precisely what the lead generators want from "non-performing assets".
 * Lack of comprehension is poor criteria for call management. Would the King's English make offers from TCPA violators more valid?
 * The subject of this thread is engagement, not rejection, of illegal callers.

We could be advancing the discussion as home service sales lead mills continue taking advantage of a post-COVID market, after confined homeowners had pause to assess everything that's wrong with their properties. There's a persistent bunch piling onto my area the past several weeks, decidedly lacking South Asian accents. In fact, I think they are in my region.

I'd have submitted comment by now, but I simply don't have enough intel gathered. Call me nuts, but I believe in less noise, more signal. Meantime, threads like this continue to degrade from glancing one-offs and attention beggars. Behaving like the phone spammers isn't making us happier or correcting the problem.

The "Energy Upgrade California" telemarketers have bedeviled consumers for years, always a different spoofed number, never providing a biz address. They tout SB350, an alleged energy saving statute. Had to set up an appointment to see who is behind the campaign. Royal Family Construction, Inc., California contractor license CSLB # 1082702, showed up. The Royal Home Improvement Salesperson [www[dawt]CSLB[dot]ca[dat]gov HIS # 136592  SP] initially provided a fake contractor name, "Best Romano."  Called from 818-441-6705, separate posting already made.

"Energy Upgrade California" is a program run by the California Public Utilities Commission and California Energy Commission to educate Californians on energy conservation towards a goal of combating climate change.v

SB350 refers to California Senate Bill 350, the Clean Energy and Pollution Reduction Act of 2015.

"Royal Family Construction, Inc." is a General Contractor that has an active license (the number you listed) issued by the State of California's Contractors State License board (CSLB).  They are listed by the BBB as having incorporated in May, 2021.  The BBB gives them an "A+" rating and lists no complaints filed against them.
The Salesperson license number you gave is listed as active on the CSLB website and belongs to a Yotam Oren who is registered with the CSLB as an employee of Royal Family Construction, Inc.
You do not mention when the "fake contractor name" was given to you, but I would hazard a guess that was possibly the person you talked to while setting up your appointment and Yotam Oren was who showed up to fulfill the appointment.

I do not understand why you would take the effort to munge the perfectly safe URL of the CSLB
(https://www.cslb.ca.gov).  Unless, perhaps, you wanted it to appear unsafe because you did not actually want people to check the information you were posting.
