I like it when I get calls from India but only if the caller is female :)  I play along a little with them but occasionally interrupt and start flirting with them. I basically turn it into phone sex call and I get it for free :)

Thank you for explaining the impact of the Mugahl conquest, multi-racial, tribal and linguistic factors, the aeons-old abuse of the lower classes by rulers, the hegemony of warlords, and one of the most complex socio-religious situations in history in terms of "Western Imperialism". Do you by any chance work for Fox News? Do you know about the Raj? India's noblity sold out to the "Imperialists" for fithy lucre. That was wrong. Imperialism is not right, and telephonic criminal enterprise is as bad as both. Excuses are not solutions. Bad history lessons are not helpful. The notion that victimhood, real or imagined, somehow creates an entitlement to conduct criminal activity repudiates the rule of law and common sense.

Right off the bat, it was British imperialism in India, not American.  European imperialism long preceeded the British colonies of America.  Resources of colonized areas were a big draw and those countries with adequate sea power were able to expand their empires.  Some of the results of expansion were bad, some good;  but all of it was, and is inevitable.  No use belly-achin' about it now other than to implement the golden rule.

I am from India and these people are a disgrace to my culture. Do not feel sorry for them, Yes India is a poor country, but of all It's people these scammers are educated and speak English meaning they are not poor. They can go get respectable jobs if they wish to. Instead, they choose to disgrace themselves by sitting behind a phone like beggars. I do not wish to disrespect the profession of begging. Scammers are a reproach to the lowest of the untouchables. May they be reborn with no limbs so they may know what it is truly like to be a beggar.

These scammers are a scourge. I am a US citizen of Indian origin. These low lifes have nothing to do with race/country/whatever. They are basically criminals and need to be treated as such.
Lets not confuse crime with nationality, just treat them like the vermin they are.

Had a call from my cell phone and this man who could hardly speak English said that he works for the IRS and is also an investigator and said that I am going to be arrested. I asked his name. He said"Rich Gordon". I said really? that sounds like an American name and you can hardly speak English buddy!! He laughed and I said what is your real name so I can call the police on you and he hung up. I called several times after that, over and over and said the same thing to these horrible people. I had a kick of a time.

I think it's hilarious when they have such a thick accent and try to pass themselves off with an Anglo-American name.  That would be about as effective as me trying to speak Hindustani and using an Indian name.

I once had some credit card thieves calling our business wanting to place a huge order, but what gave him away was that he had a very thick Mexican accent while giving an Anglo name.

I know there's nothing I can do to get these scumbags to stop calling. Yes, they are scumbags. I put one guy who called on speakerphone so my daughter's could hear how a bottom feeder sounds. When I told him I knew he wasn't calling from Microsoft and asked if his mother knew he was a thief,  he started on a rant of sexually explicit things he was going to do to me, and my daughter's heard part of it. Ever since then, when I get a call from one of these scumbags, I open a bullhorn sound on my cell that  I got from youtube and I blast it into the phone. I may not be able to stop the little pricks but I can certainly exact a little revenge...

I literally call these number every day on my first break at work. I have actually had a couple of long interesting conversation about how the whole scamming operation works with a couple of them to the point where they tell me how terrible their economy is that I almost feel bad for them.....almost. I often tell them I will pay them if I can sing them a song. I sing a crappy radio song and then at the end i ask how much they are going to pay ME for my song. I also enjoy my personal favorite question; "I need the EXTERNAL revenue department." "You're from the internal revenue department and i need the EXTERNAL." I put it on speaker sometimes and let co-workers listen in. It seems to brighten the day a tad.
