Australian slang.. A company I know had to change the name of one of their products because of such things. "TeamRoute" just didn't send the right message about the product.

Don't forget the investments in India made by businesses like IBM, Microsoft, Dell, and many others so they would not have to pay US wages to US citizens. Don't just blame the federal government.

All these are great but how do you stop the computer calls? I bought weight loss medicine on the internet 20 years ago. Since then I get calls 4 to 8 days a day, 6 days a week for 20 years. Now you ask why havent I changed my number? Well the number has my name in the last 4 digits. Its like 678-JOHN. So I dont want to change it. I shouldnt have to change it. I have blocked over 1000 different numbers but they just keep changing the numbers. I have told them I am dead. I am with the police. I called the US Government and they said "Sadly unless you change your number their is nothing that can be done. If I dial the number back to tell them off it says unknown number. PLEASE HELP. WHAT DO U DO?

Simple, just don't answer a unknown phone number, let the answer machine catch it. They will stop after a while. If you don't talk to anyone, no scam can run, like the infamous IRS scam, fake debt collectors, and so on, so on. Real simple approach and it works for me and with caller ID the phone don't ring that much anymore!!!

With respects, I haven't answered any unknown callers in years and yet the calls don't seem to have slacked off any.  Still getting 3 to 4 hangups a day, on average.

Try a call blocker that lets you block entire area codes. It'll catch way more calls than a blocker that only lets you block individual numbers.

A call blocker that does not allow ring through unless the caller dials "0" works instantly, for all callers and all numbers.  A white list is developed over time, or you can input numbers yourself.  No rings.  Not even one, unless the caller is whitelisted.  In three years of use, I've never had a single scammer dial through.  Not once.

So why worry about the nuisance calls? I have more important things to do than let some scammer bother me!!! Enough said.
