Thank you for taking time to post your info! Yesterday morning I received a call from 210-485-5145. It left a machine message telling me that this was the Internal Revenue Service and that this was my Final Notice. They will now be filing a lawsuit against me. For What? Still, they had my attention also. I tried to callback several times and either Verizon said it was a bad number or a machine said all the circuits were just and to try back later. This at 7 am on a Sunday as well. I thought about the reverse phone directories and found this number coming from YMax Communications in San Antonio, TX.  Thanks to all the info here, I am sure this is a scam of some kind and will try to follow thru on reporting  this. ...

Yes, it is a scam. The way it works, the caller will give you a chance to pay the fake debt by Western Union or a Green Dot card. And if you do it right now, in the next 30 minutes, you won't have to pay penalties or interest.  The scammer keeps the money.  The time limit is very short so you won't have time to investigate the caller or the debt.

Fortunately, she has a son who is able to inform her as to what they're all about.  Wish all the older folks out there had that advantage!

Rec'd a call which was a 'recording' from an 'officer' with the IRS informing me that there was a 'lawsuit' filed against me and that I should call 202-241-3502.  I called the number which was answered by a 'Mike Walker' who id'd himself as an officer with the IRS investigations division.  He had a slight foreign middle eastern sounding accent.  He only asked my name and put me on hold 'to get my file' and came back with my name and address (I assume he had my tel no from his caller id which he used to get my address via the internet).  He told me the IRS filed a lawsuit against me.  I told him I worked for the Boston IRS office and his accusation was impossible, He hung up.  I did a reverse search of tel no 202-241-3502 and traced it to  a Wash. DC entity called YMAX Communications Mobile.  I knew it was a scam from the very beginning when I rec'd the recorded call - I just wanted to play along. I cannot understand why the US government cannot find, arrest and jail these people!

Similar experience here...multiple messages (sometimes 2-4 per day) from a Buffalo NY number  (716-279-6240) that i found was linked to" YMax Communications Mobile". [Ironically, this call originated from my old hometown, where I have not been in over 30 years]. My caller was "Steve Martin" (HE DIDN'T SAY WHETHER HE HAD AN ARROW THRU HIS HEAD!) and threatened severe 'Federal Action' since this was my 'second notice'.
I think I will call the 1-877 number that Dane posted. I try not to think of how my elderly mother, aged ( 98)  would react had she been the one to receive this scare message    Joe Doakes in Colorado

To let you know,  I got a call from a loan company but wasn't interested, they had all my info. They were able to get into my bank account and change my password and phone number to their number. Watch out. How do they get your info? I plan on contacting the FBI and police.

Hello, These folks are still out there.  I received a message on my cell from someone claiming to be from the IRS saying I had "better not ignore this call before we take action against you."  I reverse searched the number -585-444-7176 - and it was a landline in Henrietta, NY listed to YMax Communications.  Beware!

Normally i dont answer calls from the unknown and am in a position not to have record on my home phone. However, i had a call from a weird number on my cell several times so finally answered and said one word "security". The caller sounded Indian and said "WHAT".  When i said "security" again the phone went dead.  One up for me. Our government needs to stop assisting governments that dont cooperate to put a halt to this infringement on the public. In the meantime let's try to cause some confusion in their scumbag life.
