I had that guy and said he was attorney general then I got another call this morning stating I only had 30 mins to call back if I didnt I would be arrested and locked up for 6 months

Scam! You are NOT warned in advance if you are going to be arrested and you also cannot pay your way out of being arrested. Block and ignore these calls.

phone# 618-300-2420 IRS SCAM! left message stating they would file legal action if we didnt return call. called them...gave them no info...not even name and number. I got the guys fictitious name and badge #: Kevin Wood badge#GS722727. the IRS will not contact ANYONE out of the blue via phone call. You will be contacted via mail several times first and if youve lived in the USA for any amount of time you KNOW the IRS HAS YOUR ADDRESS. SO IF YOU GET A CALL LIKE THIS...........IT IS A SCAM. GIVE NO IDENTIFYING INFORMATION!! CALL THE IRS IMMEDIATELY OR FILE A COMPLAINT AT WWW.TIGTA.GOV

Your post would better serve under the number that called you. This is a number-driven website and random posts on threads such as this will disappear in short order. Just key the number into the search box and post your information there.

In the last week I have received 2 of these IRS scam calls. Same threats as other folks. Add these to the prior 4 calls of this type since August 2014. I have reported all to www.tigta.gov and am giving serious thought to filing complaints with the Attorney Generals office of the state where I live. I haven't bothered with returning any of these calls, because I think it's a waste of my time.  The phone numbers these calls came from are 888-393-2449, 347-980-7727, 715-712-4174, 202-595-2867, 844-409-8705 and 844-325-0374

I got the same call  by a Jam Malter saying work for the IRs  .The # is 530-710-2836 an it comes out to be a Ymax Communications Corp. number.

Your caller was a scammer using a Magic Jack device. That's what the YMax designation indicated. Magic Jacks have been a favored tool for amateur frauds for a long time. They're cheap, disposable & nearly impossible to trace. The professionals have moved on to higher tech. but Magic Jacks are still in wide use.

Any additional assistance when the call comes from a toll free number? Phone Validator does not work with those.  Thanks for the lead to try there even though it didn't work for me.

Got a call saying hey are holding money for me so call them.  Don't think so. I own a magic jack but thisameon cell phone from y-max communications.  It reads scam,scam,scam number is 206-414-4863. Seattle wash.  Don't know, don't care

I got a message today saying it was Officer David Carter from the IRS. His number is 202-241-1694 and I tracked it down to be from YMAX Communications Corp. I hung up on him but he was saying there was an investigation I was involved in and I'm sure that is not true.

Thats the famed IRS Scam and well known here. Your report would do more good by posting about it in the numbered thread for that number, 202-241-1694. Last entry was in 2015
