By putting that number in the search box, I found the correct thread you should have posted under.  It seems there are 3 pages of complaints there that indicate this is a credit card rate scam.  So, since the title of this forum is Federal Agency Imposters, are you trying to infer that they impersonate federal agents to give you a lower credit card rate?

Now the second number you posted has about a dozen complaints and information relevant to the situation about the IRS scam.  But again, the proper place is to put those number in the search box and post under them.

continuous and on going harassment on my cell. The number calling is 561-594-9198. Claiming to be DEA. Making accusations. Threatening me with jail. These guys need to be stopped.

Perhaps when someone calls you and claims to be an investigator or from law enforcement you might say to them Call my lawyer, then hang up on them.

Why Dominican Republic or Jamaica? It is well known that these *%#@%^& are mostly from Middle East, Africa or farther.

Yes there are scammers operating out of countries in Africa, the Middle-East and Asia, but that does not mean there are not ones in the Caribbean (as the article clearly notes), or South America, or North America, etc.  About the only place you can be (fairly) sure that scammers are not operating out of is Antarctica.

I got a call today from 1-386-256-9079.... I was driving my mom to the drs. Office but answered the phone.  She asked if Patricia Rowe was available... I wasn't I was driving so I told her to call back and leave a message.  The message said to call 1-844-724-2405 and left a reference number said I needed to call back something about trying to settle something before a court date and judgement are issued against me.  While waiting to see the Dr.  I google the 386 number it traced back to Ymax Communications Daytona Beach.

Does your Caller ID show "SSI"? Beware! This is possibly some kind of hassle being aimed at Senior Citizens who will think this is Social Security, and go into a panic. Yesterday evening, I got four calls from this "SSI" at number 504-500-1097 and 504-269-5855. I knew the calls were bogus to begin with because "500" and "269" are not exchanges in area code "504". Of course, I did not pick up the calls!

Still, I went to try to report them to the FCC. Evidently, the FCC wants some kind of "evidence" that you actually picked up the call and listened to the garbage being spewed in your ear. Since I could not say that I had actually heard the message, the FCC would not let me complete my report! At least that is the way I understood it.

I agree about spoofed number usage and spoofed ID info using an acronym like SSI to prey on the elderly and uninformed. But, there is also a survey company http://www.bbb.org/connecticut/business-revie ... ton-ct-1003542/ that uses SSI under caller ID. Well guess we have to go through this again.  SSI is not the Social Security Administration, nor are they trying to spoof their caller ID to make it look so.  The company name is Survey Sampling International, a bonafide survey company.  Now granted they are a pain in the butt, but they are also a bonafide company.  Now if you have a problem with their name, then you need to take that up with them.  Now it is my understanding that they will let you easily opt out, here is the link:  http://www.surveysampling.com/en/general/received-a-call
Reporting them to the FCC will do no good since the DNC does not cover surveys.
