- dw replies to frustrated in SeattleI received a call from a blocked number from a lady yesterday that told me she was a "locater" and that I was being sued for check fraud and there was a court date set. She told me to call 866-644-8050 to find out the details. I did call the number after I blocked my number. A man told me I was going to jail he was going to ruin my life. Don't give these people any information. Be sure to file a complaint with the FTC online!
- Please be careful! replies to frustrated in Seattle| 2 repliesAlso got a call from this number again. Stuart talked to my husband. I called back and let him give me the entire story again about a payday loan I took out. Thing is I didn't, it was deposited into my account with my auth. anyway I have been trying since 9/20/11 (i think) to send this money back. I was getting phone calls from another Law ffirm, telling me they were going to come and get me and arrest me, take me to court if I didn't pay a VERY LARGE sum of money. SSM group said don't pay them it was a scam. Funny, coming from them...lol Anyway, today I told Stuart to stop calling me, that the FBI, FTC, IC3.gov were all involed, then a Mr. Kellogg came on and said what is the problem explained myself again and he asked to the FBI number. I said I was driving in my car and in a couple of hours I would fax everything I have over to them. I asked for a validation of debt and a signed contract that I requested this money. They said it would be emailed to me. I said ok, soon as I receive it, I would send everything I had to them. We will see.
PS...My bank already sent the money back to them and my account is closed.....WTF?
Report everything to the FBI, FTC, IC3.gov and your Attry General Office...Also number that it all started from was 818-275-4519...look this one up and read all of our problems...I reply to everything as Please Be Careful! - frustrated in Seattle replies to Becky| 4 repliesOkay, I'm glad I'm not the only one dealing with these fools. He then said I was going to get a summons to come to a california court. I screamed at him and hung up. - MaineI received a call from 213-769-4746 stating that I had defaulted on a payday loan from Advance America and requesting my attorney's information. When I requested correspondence to be mailed to me-the responder stated that e-mails had been sent to me to my email address regarding the default. I simply told them to do whatever they needed to do because I do no have any payday loans and hung up!
- not Michael replies to CatThey are trying to get you to pay off the fake loan - to them. They think you are dumb enough to wire them lots of money. Obviously they are wrong. But some people are stupid enough to fall for it.
- Cat replies to mike| 1 replyI had a lady call and tell me that they a filing a law suite againt me. What i dont know. She told me to call the number and talk to a guy at the number. The number you wrote about is the number she gave me .626-384-3250.. Why are they doing this.
- Resident47 replies to Laughing On The Other CoastI saw one comment, wish I knew where, reporting a PDL scammer claiming to call from the "City of California". That and the alias names they borrow from Western celebrities, sports figures, and cartoon characters tend to deflate their brutish attacks.
In fairness, the average American is not much better at geography. To some, the smallest state is "Road Island" and Africa is a country.
