- Laughing On The Other Coast replies to Ruth| 1 replyBesides the weird English, these yoohoos don't know much about US geography. I've been getting calls from all kinds of weird numbers for the past three years. Today, I got a call from I don't know where (Mumbai?) but caller ID was 'Joseph Goldberg 509-218-2562.' So, I looked up Joseph Goldberg and the phone number. I found the number on an early September listing for a washing machine for sale on Craigslist. This number was for Kennewick, WA. Joseph Goldberg left a message telling me that I was in 'danger,' that 'I would need a lawyer to keep me out of jail.' I found Joseph Goldberg, lawyer, on the internet in Washington (DC). I believe that the web site was a scam because there was so much ambiguity regarding which Washington the author of the page meant - although the phone number for this so-called office had an area code 202, not 509, it still wasn't absolutely clear that the author of the page knew this, that 202 was DC on the east coast and 509 was in WA state on the west coast. What a bunch of knuckle draggers. So, add 509-218-2562 to the list. And, I 'd been getting a lot of hangups from 509-590-2805. The last one was seconds before 'Joseph Goldberg' with an Indian accent called. I filed a complaint with the FCC for these numbers.
- Ruth| 2 repliesI got a voice message last week from John Marshall, this week it is from Alex White from 646-810-8677. The message is always the same, from everything I have read. I don't have the time or strength to deal with them, so I never answer the calls. I am thinking about getting a new number, I think it is worth it. My 11 year old heard one of the messages and is very upset. That was when I did a reverse lookup and found all these people that have also been called. It is too bad that there is not more we can do. If anyone has any suggestions on how to stop the calls, please share.
- DebbieI called 626-380-0473 and told them to send me proof to my email that I owe a payday loan and they said that they can't that it is going through court. so i told them that i know that this is a scam and that i notified the local police and the guy said ok and hung up. - ElIf a debt collector will not provide you with proof that you owe, then there isn't any and it is a SCAM!
I was told a private courier was showing up between 2 & 3 today to serve me with papers - guess what? nobody showed up. And yes I found their phone # on here. Don't let them scare you and don't give them any money! - Michelle replies to DebbieRequest documentation from him before paying anything (snail mail, with return addresses, ext..) .. If they start threating you, as far as telling you they will put you in jail.... For sure a scam then!
- DebbieI got a call from my work saying a Officer Jack Smith called from 626-380-0473 saying I need to call him
- MichelleMy boss and I have been getting calls at work from places in California, Georgia, Florida and my most recent one today from New York. We work for an installment loan place and get the calls on a weekly basis. Todays call came from:
718-819-7997
They claim to be from Cash Advance, Jose said I owed him!
Sad part about it, he had everything of mine but my account number.... - Debbie| 1 replyI Recived a call from my work saying an officer Jack Smith from 626-380-3473 want's me to call him SCAM?
- SRoss replies to ElDo they have bad English and funky accents? If so, they are most CERTAINLY a scam. If you find their number listed here, SCAM. Also, private couriers do NOT serve papers, that would be a process server and they don't call you first and tell you what time they are coming. They just show up.
These people are morons. - SRoss replies to 2Creative Not 2 Get EvenI love it!!! Give those idiots HELL!
They are using 626-380-0473 - same scam, same stupid script "Wish you luck as the situation unfolds on you" in their same thick accents and bad English. Get a life. If you're going to run a scam at least make it a good one.
News flash to stupid scammers:
1. The FBI doesn't collect debts of any kind. EVER. Period.
2. You can't send law enforcement to arrest someone on an "Affidavit" - that's a stupid misuse of the word
3. People in the U.S. can't be arrested for owing bad debts, even online payday loans. These are civil matters, NOT criminal matters
4. You can't foreclose on someone's property unless you a.-loaned them the money to buy it (and have a purchase money mortgage, deed of trust, etc) b.-got a monetary judgment against them in a U.S. COURT OF LAW and then proceeded to have a HEARING in the county where the property is located to get a lien on their property, etc etc etc (assuming the property is NOT located in TEXAS or FLORIDA, in which case homestead laws make foreclosure for anything other than purchase money mortgages impossible)
NOW...go take some more online English classes, watch a few more Matlock episodes and this time TAKE SOME NOTES!
STUPID! - Ivori13473778811 is a scam number report them
- 2Creative Not 2 Get Even replies to JDBlue| 1 replyJDBlue-
I had the same thing happen to me back on 2010. The gentleman (using that term QUITE loosely) said that it was a matter of $7000. I told him I have never spent $7000 on anything in my life, so "humor me & tell me what the $7000 is for". He said that if I do not pay $7000 immediately, they will foreclose on my property at "250 Magnolia Way".
The reason this was so funny was that:
1. I rented the property at that address; I never owned it.
2. The house burned to the ground on 9/11/08.
Trying not to laugh, I told him I didn't have $7000, so I guess they would have to go ahead & start the foreclosure. He starting yelling & swearing, saying "we are f***ing serious, we will foreclose!" I told him I knew he was serious & go ahead & foreclose because I don't have any money.
Freakin' scammer idiots... - El| 1 replyGot a message from a Melissa saying she is a private courier and is stopping by my home or place of employment between 2 & 3 to serve me with papers. She said I needed to call 855-869-2160. The number is for a company called AAG - has anyone else had calls from these people? A man named Bill Joyner called me yesterday from this company, when I asked for proof of the debt he got mad and told me I would be served. I know nothing goes through the court that fast. I would just like to know what lies they are going to try and tell me next.
- JDBlue replies to mike| 2 repliesI received a call from someone saying they are PRM Associates from 714-969-1133. On the message he made it sound like he'd been leaving messages before (which he hadn't) and he gave me 24 hours to call back "or else." His tone was very ugly and he said it was "concerning the property I'm living in." I of course GOOGLED them first before I returned the call. Apparently they are starting a new scam having to do with "property" or something. I'll just feed the guy to the alligators if he keeps calling me, I don't play.
