There is one simple way to make "Rachel" and company stop. We the people must collectively decide to NOT EVER answer any "unavailable" out of state number, and if we ever answer a call from these kinds of scammers, simply HANG UP. Do not press any number to "be removed from our list" (yeah, right), do not give them any information, and NEVER EVER do business with them. If nobody ever bites, they will eventually quit baiting the hook (calling us).

I've pressed 1 several times on these crap calls; got the rep. on the line and they ask me "you're interested in lower your credit card rates?", to which I reply "No, I just wanted to ask you why you don't get a respectable job instead of this one where all you do is try to rip people off..."  It's usually followed by the rep's expletive and a "click"... and I just chuckle...

Just seen on Days of Our Lives... "Theresa" says to "Daniel" that the number calling her is Rachel from cardholder services!!  That scam is now being mentioned on soap operas!

They moved operations out of the country and resumed business through US numbers they bought. I continue to get these calls, though a bit less frequently now.

FTC should have acted quicker. These crooks had time to make millions, and thus afford to simply move elsewhere to continue the scam.

Senior Software Developer replies to Phone Research IS Programmer - the enemy
No one cares. Why do idiots like you type out your personal habits in great detail? Do you not have any friends? Well, obviously you don't, judging from how great you think you are, by bragging about how SMART you are. You're a Glorified Telephone Janitor. I'll come to you if my phone breaks but otherwise, make like real life and eat your Cheetos, stare at the floor and dream of the girls from Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica. Don't tell people to stop whining when you've been spewing your inane garbage for several comments now. Loser.

YOU want it both ways -- for a living you try to get people to pay attention to their phones, and here you tell them to ignore their phones. Stupid hypocrite... go watch Battlestar Galactica in bed with your blowup doll girlfriend and stop spewing garbage no one cares about on this website. Your opinion isn't special and you're not respected, especially here. Your opinion is literally worthless.

Hey!  I like Battlestar Galactica!  Telling him to go watch Gray's Anatomy or Bill Maher would have been more insulting, IMO :-)

Here's all the numbers that have called me since I started tracking in early March.  I just let them ring.  It's annoying.  Usually I'll get 2-6 calls from the same number and then nothing.   I wish the NSA would start listening in on these calls....

800notes, you should remove this high-fiving article as if the government actually did something, or post an update.  I get at least 3 of these calls a week--still!  Same as before.

Well the calls still keep coming.  Good job FTC, now do it better and get them all out of their racket.  Strong penalties like decades in prisons might help.  Hellfire missiles would probably be a better deterrent.

When they finally catch somebody, why don't they hang them by something valuable (neck, et al)
