“At the FTC, Rachel from Cardholder Services is public enemy number one,” said FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz. “We’re cracking down on illegal robocalls by bringing law enforcement actions and pursuing technical solutions to the problem.”

- RecThey are now calling claiming to be "consumer law". Lady actually asked me for my "account number" of my credit card. Seriously?
- Ticked and then some replies to Outraged| 1 replyStill getting calls 6-19-2013 (BANK CARD SRVCS 616-613-2220) FTC is incompetent.
- jamie replies to Truth4424| 1 replymake that fine go mostly to the person being harassed - of course some to the ftc for cost to shut them down but pay the victim for being harassed
really think the per call fine should be more like 50000 each call - not each day calling
so if you call me 20 times a day you owe me 1 million a day - Raul replies to SusanWOW, are you misinformed. That's the Fox "news" explanation (hint, they lie) .
Why did the banks have to pay millions in fines then? It was MOSTLY the banks fault... - Kplan23FTC made Robo Rachel hang up her headset and collect unemployment? I don't think so. The calls slowed for a while, but Rachel, Heather and Ann have regrouped and are back to work. No unemployment for them. I suggest freezing their assets and giving them 10 years in a nasty federal prison with no parole. Lock them in a cell with phones ringing from 9 am to 9 pm with playing their robo calls. If they refuse to pick up they get a small electric shock.
- Celtic Dragon replies to BucsROKUm, these people are outside of the U.S. hun and it doesn't really apply to them
- madratRachel is still at it, her and heather and now this new girl lisa. Same script, same bogus numbers. Where here to help you credit. So while the FCC might have slapped them on the back of the hand they are still at it. for a while I did not get any calls were back to 7-15 a week now.
- Junie MoonI wonder what ever happened to "Diane" from "Carpet Care?" Are "Rachel," "Heather," "Ann," and "Diane" all part of the same "syndicate?"
- Jim B replies to sacramentoIt is the FTC. You might want to get YOUR facts straight first.
- nwRain replies to badd_doggeeBernie Madoff did NOT go to prison for robbing rich people - ONLY the crash of 2008 brought down the unsustainable ponzi scheme! Rent the movie "Hunting Madoff" and become totally disillusioned with the "system" like I am. The entire stock market is rigged - Goldman Sachs high-frequency trading (latest from Max Keiser is that their computers get fractional-seconds tip on the stock prices, direction, so how could they lose?!) The whole government is about taxing us to death, providing "fake security" that doesn't work to the public while the criminals get away with our cash, stealing our time, harass us, on and on.
- GeoSallyI get these calls from Cardholder Services about every 2 to 3 weeks. I block the number after each call but it does no good as they just use a different number each time.
- MillionDollarManThese yobos are still calling...
- Wzrd1 replies to Mac DaddyTrue enough. I have taken to talking to an operator and asking if they are acquainted with the FTC Do Not Call list.
They nearly always immediately disconnect, but those few seconds delayed their scam a little.
Though, one prize winner did remain on the line, replying "F**k you", then "Dog F**k you". We'll suffice it to say that the conversation rapidly degenerated.
I then *57'd the phone after disconnecting and notified the FTC and FCC of a violation of the do not call list and the use of obscenities and references to bestiality by said telemarketer. I also notified Verizon security of the incident, so as to ensure that they flag the call for possible law enforcement action.
What's I'd *prefer* to do is tie them up with an OBL target tee shirt on and a great big crucifix around their neck and drop them off in the tribal regions of Pakistan. - AnonIt never stops. Today a call at 3AM from some scumbag telemarketer. One day I received 10 calls from with "not available" in caller id, different numbers or no numbers, some of those I had already blocked.
- roozie165@yahoo.com replies to Ticked and then somestill getting calls 7-12-13
