It's another number for Portfolio Recovery out of Atlanta, they bought a number that is also attached to "Good Deal Properties" from Woodstock, Georgia, an offshoot. Beware: they (PRA) are scam artists with a number of lawsuits against them regarding illegal tactics to make people pay on things they don't owe.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

These bottom feeders just don't give up. I just keep blocking their numbers, and keep adding numbers tot he blocked call list.

Get a call blocker that only lets people in your address book get through. Send money to Senator Elizabeth Warren as well.  These tools' stock is listed and apparently does pretty well. Fight wall street abuse. End the oligarchy.

I never heard of  Portfolio Recovery until I got a new phone # just a couple months ago; now they call all the time.

Portfolio Recovery is the worst debt collector on the planet. They buy expired debt at 2% and mark it up. One thing you can do is change your home phone # or give up your land line totally. It's illegal for them to call your cell #. They have called me numerous times 7 days a week. If they had a valid debt, they would have threatened to sue me.

Got a call from this number today. No message. I'm going to file a complaint and sue them; this debt was my ex's that he made before we were married and was charged off in a bankruptcy 23 years ago. You can't attempt to collect on debts that were not made by that party and/or that were charged off in a bankruptcy. That is FEDERAL law.

I'm always getting calls from out of state numbers but if I don't recognize that number I just ignore it.  I don't have any credit cards and the only thing financed is my home and I certainly don't have it in collections.  Portfolio is just an annoyance much like a mosquito.

I want to thank everyone for info., my husband and I never answer numbers we don't recognize. Now that I have checked comments I will block.

I get calls from  Portfolio Recovery everyday. Some times 2 or 3 times a Day. I never answer. I just ignore it. I never answer strange numbers, nor Toll free numbers. They will soon learn that they are wasting their time.

They have more phone numbers and phony names than any other company I have seen.  They are impossible I just do not answer them.  I do believe that the statute of limitations is between 7-10 years on debts..

A new number to block. I just go thru the list on my phone and cancel the block on the oldest ones.

Have had many calls from this number. I usually ignore them, but not today. They went through the usual rigamaro and then stated that they were attempting to collect a debt from HSN (Home Shopping Network) for close to $1500 (can't remember the exact amount). Funny thing is, I have never bought anything from them and I don't even have a credit card! I have read many complaints about them today. Now I know what to say if or when they call back! They need to be jailed for their fraudulent actions!

Welcome to debt collection hell - these people are the worst - once they get your number they will harass you forever using various fake numbers.  Whether you owe money or not.  The only thing you can do is not answer and/or block number.
