- Daniel replies to Shaun from UtahIf you have a cellphone, add this number to your contacts, label it as "scam" or something similar in the name field, and set the ringtone to "no ring". That way at least it won't bother you any more.
I told them the first time not to call me again, and they have for 3 days now, so I have also reported them to the Do Not Call registry. - DanielIF YOU HAVE A CELLPHONE: add the number to your contacts, put "SCAM" for the caller's name, and set the ringtone to "NO RING". That way you can ignore the calls.

- ScottReceived the call last night (and the night before). They claimed to be from York County Natural Gas (my local gas company) and asked only one question: "Do you have natural gas service?" I didn't answer the question and emailed the gas company about it.
I received an email this morning confirm that in at least this instance, the call was legit. Here is the response from my email:
“This survey was conducted on behalf of York County Natural Gas and with our
full knowledge. The survey was intended to help determine the awareness of
both customer and noncustomers in our service territory about natural gas
related safety issues. We thank you for taking the time to let us know your
thoughts. We will take your input and try to improve the communication
methods used so that potential survey respondents do not feel that they are
being scammed.”
- I think I still would be leery of the small dog question.- Call type: Survey
- KAPGot a call this am asking if I had a small dog, I said Yes, then it hung up. I called the Police Dept and they told me it was a scam and since I said Yes to call my phone provider and let them know and put a Carrier Restriction Block, Bill Block, and Collect and 3rd Party Block on the phone number. Be sure to check your next month bill!

- Strange2Received this phone call today in San Antonio, TX from 202-643-1993 at about 12:30 pm. Assuming it might be from Washington DC area, called back and learnt that the mail box was full. www.411.com reverse look up did not tell any information without a charge, saying if no information provided, there will not be any charge. Chances are that there will be no information listed or if listed, someone else is using the line of some innocent person. I do not know who can really investigate and fix this annoyance.

Send an OPT-OUT email to: gjoseph@ccAdvertising.com. Here are there web sites. www.americansincontact.org www.ccadvertising.biz www.freeeats.com
But I would be reluctant to send main to anybody at any Advertising address.
This is a bunch of survey - political push the buttons - Ad type guys working on contracts they have with conservative PACS.
National elections are coming up fast and the early calls are to see who does and does not respond to them. Best thing is not to respond.
You may have been put on their list if you send money or signed an on-line petition with somebody like Huckabee, Thompson, Gingrich et al.
BTW, surveys are not in violation of the National Do Not Call list. People who report these numbers to the FTC site just jam up the system with bad data. The early and more silly surveys like dog questions are just to see who will and will not respond to them. Then they plan to hit their active list in the big push before the election.- Call type: Political call
- MaryI have rec the same call twice today..You need to call the FTC and report it.They will give you a Ref.number.. You than call the Atty.Gen.Office and report.it..
It is a scam and can do much harm to you..
Please DO NOT!!! answer the ?.Re the small Dog.- Caller: THNK SAY ACT 10
- Bostonboy 02125 replies to joeBoston A recording, asking if I have a small dog, comes in daily from 202-643-1993. The machine takes the calls and I don't pick up or respond, but it's annoying. I also am on the do not call list and wonder why I'm getting these. I'll now dial *60 and block the number. I wonder if the same call will come in from a different number?
- KalieeI received the call, and also from several other numbers in the past month. Before they were Survey 2010. I got both the small dog one and if anybody in my household was over 65. The number keeps changing so they are faking the caller ID number. Because of that reporting them to the donotcall website or using any other forum to complain does no good at all. I have been told that the only way they can get the real record of who is calling from the phone company is if a crime was committed so they can get a warrant. A phone survey isn't against the law, so there is nothing anybody can do.
Never answer any question at all. Just hang up on them.
