I just got a call from this number, like the others it was a woman with a heavy accent calling for me about a purchase. They had my Amazon information with an old debit card that I recently canceled after a fraud purchase a couple weeks ago. Told them that it was a canceled card and they said to contact my bank for possible fraud. I don't think anything will come out of this due to them having a dead card. Sounded real, but didn't give any information just to be safe and just said that I did not make that purchase and that the card was canceled.

many many calls. asked to speak to husband who was with a therapist. they kept calling about a gift card.. 7 times  in an  hour. i  finally picked up and knew it was a scam. but they kept calling. info no doubt from some phishing scheme. indeed amazon e mailed my husband and said a 200$ purchase was attempted via his card but they sensed it was suspicious and did not allow it...

I have been getting my account ready for Amazon Prime day, this number called 3X. I did pick up once & it was like an electronic voice, the answer made no sense, so I hung up. Now that I read some of these comments I will answer them again; but they could use a better system.

I just got this call 3 x answered once sounded like a fax.  A little later Amazon sent me an e-mail saying they had to shut down my account. I also gave them this number 206-508-4014, told them they called me 3 X number is west coast Seattle area. Amazon told me to be careful of these phone calls.

I received 5 calls from this number today on my cellphone. I didn't answer at all. Everyone said from Amazon, should I call them?

I thought it was a hoax but I had added a visa gift card to my amazon account- he knew it was a reloadable gift card and he read told me the last 4 numbers- he asked me for no info & suggested I change my password (which I did) if I was uncomfortable but when we hung up the amount on the gift card had been loaded into my account- think it’s legit- he knew a lot and asked nothing but verification to add the amount to my account- his job must be so difficult with all the Microsoft/resort award/senior benefit scammers (who actually know nothing about you)

Legit call from Amazon - ordered a gift card on the website. 30 minutes later started getting calls for them to verify it was me that ordered. they called from the 206-508-4014. it does sound like a scam / fishy but it's not. Their support is overseas.  I called the 1800 number for amazon. They stated they needed to do a manual authorization for my gift card and I should get it in about 4 hours. I received my confirmation email that i talked to Amazon right after I hung up with them.

Just spoke with Amazon and this is not the process they use. If they need to speak with you they will ask you to contact them. They will not even supply a number for you to call. This is a known SCAM for gift cards.. WARNING

Got a call within 20 minutes of a gift card order with a large dollar amount . Didn’t pick up because I didn’t recognize the number and the Mr number app didn’t identify it as anything. Got a voicemail saying they wanted to verify the purchase and they were going to call me back. Got an email from Amazon saying the same thing. Also, my order was still pending processing in my account.
Got a second call within 15 minutes (this time Mr Number identified it as Amazon Customer Service), gentleman asked if I was me, and if I’d just bought a gift card.
Asked for no other info (card number, email, address...)
I said yes, he said he would authorize it. When I hung up, I checked my account and the gift card was processed.

Just received a phone call from this number with caller ID Amazon.  I normally don't pick up, same story as others.  Male caller, heavily accented English.  He was calling about purchases I had recently made with my credit card # on a new account.  Told him I haven't opened a new account, did not purchase the items.  They were declining the order at their end, and for safety's sake I called the credit card company and canceled the card.

Received a phone call from 206-508-4014 claiming to be from Amazon.  I don't order from Amazon.  Hung up on her.  There received 2 harassing phone calls in a row from 206-922-4799 claiming to be from Amazon and wanting to verity a $3000 charge for gift cards.  They want to say Yes.  I said no, no, no - never call here again.

Received a call from Amazon asking about the computer I purchased,  Did not ask any personal questions.  I called Amazon and they said it was from them to verify the purchase.

I didn't pick up when they called and maybe for good reason. The number is 1(206) 508-4014

I got a call from this number and was very untrusting at first, they had my full name and the last 4 of my credit card that was stolen a month ago.. They said someone had tried to order the IPhone X on Amazon, but on a new account with my name.. They were asking if I ordered it or if it was someone else.. To which I told them I did not and to cancel it. I asked what address it was being sent to, they couldn't give me that info but they gave me a street name and the area was close to where my phone was stolen.. Long story short, I called my card company, they verified someone had tried to make a purchase, and it was all sent to the fraud department. I think it's a legit number for Amazon.. If you are unsure, just hang up and call amazon customer service. They will have the same info (that's what I did).

got a call from them, left a message about being from amazon verification department. As I have made no purchases from amazon I contacted them and asked ....they said they DO NOT call people this way! If you receive a call from them, hang up and contact amazon yourself, do NOT give out any information or verify anything! Consider it fraud and handle as such.

Got a call from this number today asking about an Amazon Gift card my 87 year old mother ordered. I told them they must be mistaken but gave them her phone number. Sadly, someone got her to give all her info out and got into her personal computer today and made charges. Pathetic that there are human beings like this.

So you gave them her number and then she got scammed? But that was not your fault?
