- SL| 2 repliesI received a call from this number today, I didn't answer as I usually don't answer unknown numbers. They also didn't leave a voicemail. After reading the comments posted here, I started to worry. I did make a rather large purchase with Amazon, my financial institution has it currently in pending and checked the invoice on my amazon account and it shows the transaction was for today. If I didn't answer the call to confirm the purchase, why did Amazon process the payment without speaking to me? Because there is no issue with my order/payment. So whoever was calling was just trying to phish for some personal information. I'll post an update if I see any suspicious charges.

- SL replies to SL| 1 replyJust a quick update, my item delivered and the only charges I see are for the product I ordered. This number never called back, in the end I still believe they are impersonating Amazon. Since supposedly they're main reason to call is to either confirm your payment details, shipping address, none of which I had confirmed and my item still arrived. Obviously, the real Amazon had no issues regarding my order. Please ignore/block this phone number.

- WillGot the call early today, 2 days after making an order. Don't answer unknown numbers but was left with a voicemail. Everything seemed suspicious so came here to check the number. From the talking in the background to wanting to verify my address after I already have emails saying everything has been shipped. He stated he would call later, and I'll likely pick up and play it safe, but it seems to just be the beginnings of a scam.

- milkmanGot call from this number claiming it was Amazon.com about a order. I just so happen to be on Amazon when this person called. I contacted Amazon chat and ask about this number. The chat person told me not to give out any information, that Amazon does not call about orders. This is a spammer caller. They also said that you would see a problem on your order history page if there was a problem with your order.
. Chat person also recommended to change my passwords and watch for fraud on credit cards.- Caller: Spam

- JustgotthiscallThis lady with an accent asked what I recently ordered from Amazon, so I told her exactly what I ordered. She didn't ask any further questions, but I felt very suspicious about this so I called Amazon Customer Service immediately, asking if this was legit. The guy from ACS said the phone call was made from them just to verify if this order was made from me. So.. I guess this is legit? But if you get a phone call from this number... I'd suggest call ACS immediately and see if this is actually from Amazon.

- Lanie replies to GarryI got 3 calls right after I placed an order for a gift card so our college son could buy groceries. The caller was just verifying that I knew the person who was receiving the card and it was not someone who had asked me to receive goods in exchange for that card! I truly believe this is Amazon because this man didn’t want anything verified just to know that I knew the person to whom we were sending the card. This reminds me of people who are being scammed and asked to send a gift card to somebody in payment for not being arrested!
- MThis person called my place of employment and spoke to my staff about an IPad that was ordered. She called me and I verified that I had NOT ordered any IPads. She informed him of this and then he called my cell phone and insisted I did and to give him the card number for the purchase. To which I did not give him and told him I'm not confirming anything when I know I did not make any orders. He hung up the phone and when I tried calling back, the number was no longer in service.

- J replies to martyHate to tell ya, Marty... this was a scam. I received a call from Washington number (206) 508-4014 immediately after placing an order on Amazon. I did not answer. They left a voicemail. It was hard to understand, but it sounded like they were trying to verify my Amazon account. I contacted Amazon through their online chat and they told me that Amazon will NEVER call to verify purchases or account info.

- ~8~I had just placed a large order with Amazon and approximately 15-minutes later, a man with a heavy middle-eastern accent called. He stated he was with Amazon and wanted to confirm my shipping address, as I was using a different address for this order. All he wanted to confirm was the street number. After confirming the street number, he stated all was good and my order was shipping.

- SMJ| 1 replyAmazon must have a HUGE security issue if this isn't legit, because I got this call within 5 min of making a larger than normal purchase on Amazon and sending it to a locker in my hometown. I didn't answer because it said "Potential Spam", and when I called back, the number wasn't in service. I can understand why this purchase would have been suspicious, but the charge went through on my card without my doing anything else, so that makes it seem like a scam to me.
- Caller: ?Amazon?
- SMJ replies to SMJUpdate: I also received this e-mail. Again, credit card transaction has gone through, and I haven't responded to any of this. No transaction number was mentioned in the VM, and I can access my account just fine.
