NOT legit. Called (left 2 voice mail messages) to "confirm authorization."  Amazon would know that my Amazon account has been closed for MONTHS!

This is an Amazon Fraud Prevention line.  They called me to verify unusual pending charges from an Amazon account I did not create.  Someone had stolen my cc number and was using it.  I disputed the charges.

    SCAMMERS!
This is for sure a scam. I had someone call from "amazon" to see if i would like to "go ahead with my purchase, or cancel it"  for an order and gave me the last 2 digits of a credit card. I neither confirmed nor denied the the last 2 digits they gave me, but said cancel it... I did not order what they were asking about. I felt something was very suspicious... Since when does amazon call you? I called my credit card company & had 3 attempts as well as one fraudulent purchase on my card, which i subsequently cancelled. They do have the phone number set up to answer as if they are amazon. (i called from another number) but then i called the real amazon, and they said it is not them. Beware! They are fishing for info. So disgusted that human beings do this to one another!

It is not really amazon. I called the real amazon, and they don't make these calls. They could be hacking amazon, or just hacking.

I just received three missed calls from this number after numerous fraudulent credit card changes were found on our card this morning. Glad I google searched the number and found this. This number must be connected to the fraud. Our credit card company caught the fraud charges because of an address mismatch which is why the criminals are probably trying to verify an address.

Received a phone call just a few minutes ago - about 9:30 p.m. - from 206-508-4014.  Man with Middle Eastern accent asked for another household member.  Sounded like a telemarketer to me, and I told him so and that he wasn't supposed to call after 9 p.m.  He said he was with Amazon and needed to verify an order.  I just hung up on him.  He was hesitant in his speech and did not sound professional at all.

I received a call from this number from a woman with Middle Eastern accent claiming to be with Amazon com.  I told her I could not understand who she was saying who she was with and finally understood Amazon.com.  She asked if I ordered gift cards from Amazon with a credit card ending in 66.  I told her NO she then hung up....suspicious.

    I was scammed too!
I've been receiving these phone calls as well. Just thought it was tell a marketing so I would ignore them. Well, then the fraudulent charges showed up! I am EXTREMELY upset with Amazon for this. They show have better security measures! This happened twice to us and we couldn't figure out how for the life of us, but know I know!

It's a scam.  As others have said, a woman with a thick middle eastern accent was on the other end.  She asked for my Amazon info.  Laughed and hung up.

Let's face it. These days if someone with an accent calls and  says they are with a vendor or financial institution, the prudent step is to hang up onthem.

The call is from Amazon's fraud team. They call to verify charges when the information seems suspicious or incorrect. Unfortunately, customer service does not have access to calls made by the fraud team, and notes are not provided to CS, so reps overseas frequently do not have information about the call.

I also received a call from this number from a woman with a heavy Indian accent.  She should be ashamed of herself.  I'm contacting the police.  This is a fraudulent phone call and anyone in these notes indicating the phone number is legitimate is lying.  Customer service does have access to calls made by the fraud team.  I just spoke with both Amazon and my bank.  Do not reveal or confirm any information they give you.  Do not even confirm who you are when they call.  There is a special place in hell (and jail) for these people.

LEGITIMATE - AMAZON Fraud Dept. calling on a charge made on our Company's behalf (by our MSP) They held the order until they could confirm that it was legitimate.  And yes, the caller had a heavy accent because Amazon uses overseas call centers. I'd rather get a call like this than a fraudulent charge on our credit card. Much appreciated.
