- KathyI received a call from 212-000-3459 identified as New York and decided to take the call. I had received several calls over 4-5 days from this number and was curious since I was just in New York only a few days ago. As stated from other bloggers, a man with a thick Indian accent started rambling about problems with my computer that would not be detected from the usual scan devises, blah, blah, blah! I asked him for a number to return the call and he gave me the following information - Allen Faulker 1-888-458-9001. Don't waste your time listening to this because it is nothing but a scam. They seemed to keep asking me questions which they wanted me to say YES to. This sent up a red flag because he kept trying to get me to say YES. He didn't get a YES outta me!!!

- TCI got this call claiming that there were problems with people having trouble with their computer in the Village where we live. So I said no thank you and he hung up. I called the number back and it was phone number that was not working. But I went to the computer and rebooted it. There was another in our Village that was not so luckily. She said no and said they would charge her $197 to fix her computer. But they mess her computer up. All her icons were gone and she lost Internet connection. But this was the second time they call me with 2 months.

- EdabitAnyone calls meas name unavailable will be screened. I have had my current number for 9 weeks and I have received more crap calls. I do not answer and let the machine get it. Thats why I pay for caller ID. I know no one on the DNC list is respected-its a hoax too. I know there will always be wasy to generate solicitation calls. Its a fact. But this site allows me to identify many of the callers before Ifile complaint!

- Dan| 1 replySame experience as others have noted here.
Claimed he was from "One Stop E Solutions" and something about my computer being infected with a virus.
Hung up and instantly got a call back from "Unknown" who left an empty 5 second voicemail.

- BettyCall came in on 8-14-2012. started talking about the computer. My husband said he doesn't use it and hung up.
we are on the Do Not Call Registry and are going to report the number to see if it helps stop them. - TishJust answered this call. Same run around. Did not have answers for my questions. I would not go online. Finally when I asked was he part of my paid tech support, from registering windows, or some random person calling the house because most people have windows. He did not answer. The first person/original caller, woman with thick Jamaican accent, transferred me to this indian man (supervisor) when I refused to comply. He hung up on me after all my questions. Glad I answered and not my older parents (70s and 80s). I had a very bad feeling. She used words like emergency, and virus multiplying every second we are on the phone. Talk about a scare tactic. When I try to call this number back, get recording to check the number and try again.
- Caller: One stop (something computer related. Thick accent)
- RagbertA man with a strong Indian accent claimed to be calling from One Stop eSolutions, something about wanting to discuss my computer. This was clearly a scam, so I immediately told him to remove my number from his calling list. He didn't understand me, so I repeated it and said I wanted my number taken off his list. When he continued to be confused, I finally said "NO CALL!" and he hung up on me. Geez.

I believe if enough complaints show up then the FCC does something about it. - johnQ| 1 replyI've done everything to stop these calls. Sometimes answering by telling them i don't own a computer and others to not picking up at all. Calls come through daily....sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. Want to know the biggest joke? The Do Not Call Registry. THAT is the worst scam in the world. They are a waste.
- Caller: computer idiots

- Sharon| 1 replyI've received several of these calls over the last couple months. At first, I would just hang up on them, or be polite. Then I let one lady go through her whole pitch, `your windows computer is running vista, xp or windows 7, and it has a bad virus, and it called our tech support here..." Wait, my computer CALLED you? She went on to explain that they would repair my XP or windows 7 system for free. She wanted to know how many systems I had in my home, what operating systems did they run, and was I the main user.
Wait, I thought you said my computer called you. How can you not know this already?
But I told her anyway, that today, I had about ummm 9 or 10 computers in my home. And yes, some of them did run XP or windows 7, and a couple of them ran both. Yes, currently, I am the only one home, so I guess for now, I am the main user. When she got to the go log in and do this and that and stuff, it was about time for me to leave for my appointment, so I had to cut her off. I said, "You know, I have to stop you here. I've been building computers for almost 20 years, and I'm a fair hand a writing code, too. You are full of [***] and you know it."
Today, I got another call from the same number, and when I said "hello?" they hung up.
Another fun one to use for telemarketers that usually makes them stop calling pretty quickly is let them talk for a few minutes, then press a button, and say "This is the guy officer, this is the one that attacked my sister, I'd recognize that voice anywhere - I kept him on the line for as long as you said to."- Call type: Telemarketer
- Wrong target replies to Play Them Along with Mind Games| 1 replyPure gold there... got the call but I had neither the time nor inclination to play the person as well as you did. I did continually interrupt inquiring as to the nature of the business- was told it wasn't a business. The caller (thick Indian accent- other callers could be heard in the background) said he believed I have a computer running Windows XP or Windows 7. I asked him what the basis was for his belief- one of the many questions he was unprepared for.... he stumbled then attempted to restart his poorly memorized script about there being problems... I persisted as to the nature of his business to which he maintained that it wasn't a business. he told me that he wanted to help me with my computer to which I replied that no one just helps without the expectation of something- he was working for a business. I poked at the business angle for a bit then- growing tired of this game I cut to the chase and asked whether he was looking for access to my computer in order to fix my problems. He replied, "yes" Immediately I replied, "goodBYE" and hung up.
