These idiots KEEP calling me & calling me. Have asked repeatedly now to place my # on THEIR DO-not-call list; they say this is not possible, they do not have such a thing. They tell me that my computer is infected & that it has been infected w/a virus that will destroy my files & I am virusing everyone that I know?! I do not even keep my computer on anytime during the day! They also call @ all hours (6:55 am this morning AND @ 10:30pm the other evening!) Also they asked me for personal info. I am so sick of this, has been going on 4 months. Any reports to the DNC & to FCC are freakin useless!! I swear I think I get MORE calls from reporting #s like this & other telemarketers to the government...wouldn't surprise me if they're in bed w/these [***]!

I got a call from this number and she asked if Mr. or Mrs. M was home.  I told her that she was calling my office line and can I help  her with something.  She hung up on me.

The FCC can't even do anything about these people because they are legally SPOOFING their numbers to SCAM people.  Please start some type of action (write your senators, members of congress, your State Attorney General to make SPOOFING illegal and have these companies that give spoofing access run out of business.  There is NO GOOD REASON for anyone to want to spoof a number....these people are ALWAYS UP TO NO GOOD; no one who wants to just play a some silly prank is going to pay to spoof a number.

By the way, these people want you to give them remote access to your computer so that they can take over your computer and put malware and viruses on it so they have access to your information.....WARN EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT THESE CREEPS.

Our business (in Maryland) received a call at about 11:15 A.M. EDT; originating phone came up as "New York".  The speaker, who had an almost impenetrable accent, insisted that he was not selling anything or telemarketing.  It wasn't clear (due to the accent) if he was identifying himself as a representative of any particular company, but he mentioned viruses, etc., once or twice.  I told him that we were having no problems with our computer, and he insisted that we hadn't told him/them that we had one.  He then tried to get me to press a Ctrl+Windows logo key+R, which I didn't do, and hung up on him.  He immediately called back, same deal.  I hung up again.  He called back again, and I let the voice mail pick up.  You have to give him credit for persistence, because once again he called back, and when I let the voice mail pick up the second time he didn't bother calling back but presumably went on to the next victim.

The boys are still busy and impatient, they do not like questions. They will give you an 888 number to recall to verify. It works and someone answers, another accented whatever. The 212 is a dead number.

Obviously this phone number is spoofed (phony). C'mon-- a "000" exchage? Not bloody likely! This is a well-known scam to download malicious software onto your machine, probably so that hackers can use your computer to take down web sites, like they did yesterday with GoDaddy. Don't fall for it! Also, do not call any number they may give you! These people are not to be trusted on ANY level!

I too received a call from them, but I was not home.  On the caller ID it said it was "name unavailable" with the same 212-000-3459 number.  I took the TECHNOCURA name that someone else posted here and googled it and actually came up with a website.  I am going to email every email on there to tell them that I do not want their phone calls and if they continue to call me they will be reported because I am listed on the do not call registry AND have a private/unlisted number.  somehow they got my number illegally and they are actually not the first telemarketers to do so.  I never answer calls that I do not have the number listed on my phone already or that I do not recognize.  This is the web page that has the email addresses listed for this company (if this is actually the real company calling and not just scammers)  http://www.technocura.com/contact.php ...good luck

If you go e-mailing everybody, then you've opened yourself up to all kinds of e-mail scams.  Right now, all they have is a publicly available phone number.  Quit while you are ahead!!!

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected-corrupted scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.
It is especially dangerous now because criminals are actively attacking unpatched Java security holes so don't let anyone into your PCs.

Approx 12:20 pm I received a call from 212 000 3459 and I like everyone else is tired of these scam artists that continue to call and even for those of us on the Do Not call list still get these calls.   There must be some way for our congressional representatives to do something about this.   I can't help but wonder what they do if they get these calls. Oh sorry, they don't answer their own calls!!!      (by the way I just hang up on them)

The DNC list is used by legitimate businesses to scrub their call lists but not by those out to get you.  That alone should tell you that >90% of the calls you get are from scammers of some sort.  Every once in a while a genuine business will screw up and call but they are almost always a local company.  Political calls and fundraising calls are exempt as are calls from companies you have done business with in the past 18 months.  Any legitimate company will stop calling when you ask. We need criminal penalties and better laws but even that won't help with callers from outside the US as many of these scammers are.

Yep, just like everyone else reported so far.  Caller ID listed the number as "New York Call".  Man with a thick Indian accent claiming that he was from One Stop Solutions and was calling me regarding a problem with my computer.  Laughed at him and hung up.  I feel bad for people that are ignorant and fall for this crap - get informed people and don't let yourself be scammed!  Thank goodness for websites such as this one where consumers can report scams and make others aware of them.

Caller ID said "New York," didn't answer because I'm an adult and know that "000" isn't a valid exchange. No voicemail left.
