got call today from 1-212-077-4568 - Caller.ID says "New York Call"......I did not answer, let it go to answering machine and they left no message.

They are just scammers and bad at it. I played along for awhile but he didn't seem to like all my questions. Their purpose is to take over your computers. Hopefully people don't fall for this scam.

This call was from "Name Not Found"!  Funny, I've never heard of them!!  We do not answer unknown numbers, so it's not really a problem, unless you count the phone ringing all hours of the day and night with robo calls from some scam or other!!

I wonder why I'm getting calls from every scammer in the country
and Jamaica when I became a new customer of centurytel or
centurylink whatever they call themselves.
Never had this problem with my old phone company
but they went out of business.

Same call as everyone else.  He asked for me by name.  Scary.  I said I'm hanging up, sorry, and hung up.

Did not answer. They did not leave a message.

Getting the same as everyone else here... really thick Indian accent and he says from some IT department and wants fix error messages on the computer. I told him we don't have one (which was a deliberate lie to see what he would do), and he hung up.

I received 2 calls from this number When I try to block it it does not allow me to do so because of the "077" my blocking service says that it is not a valid phone number beginning with "zero" :(  Does anyone know a way around this???

Received a call from this number on the afternoon of Feb. 6th. Man with a strong South Asian accent said he was from "JeffryCo," and that he was calling about my computer. He asked if I was the main user, and when I said, "That's none of your business" he hung up. I used to receive calls like this on a regular basis, no matter how often I told them I was on the Do Not Call list, but for some time -- perhaps a year --  there have been none. I sure hope they aren't planning to go back to their old lists and try again. It's very annoying.

Reading the other comments, though, it's a pleasure to see we're dealing with telemarketers who are too thin-skinned to keep up the facade when they are challenged. It makes everything oh so clear to their intended 'marks.'

same thing happen to me said they where Edward jones and my computer was infected , I said .............and hung up.

Scam calls. Just hang up and sign up/place this number in the do not call list/block the number.

Same thing with my received call. Thick accent andwanted access to my computer. Told him bad time to talk to him and he said he'd call back later. He's cal me 5x in 6 hrs and I've not answered his call. WTH?

I just got off the phone with our "IT Expert", OMG...I could get angry over this if it wasn't so obviously "scammy".  You would think the least they could do would be hire someone with an American accent.  I know we're outsourcing but this is ridiculous.  The area code is for New York City, reckon the new Mayor up there has decided to try to help curb unemployment numbers?  Reminds me of the time my friend "fell in love with a beautiful Russian girl", you guessed it, as soon as she asked for a plane ticket to America his antenna went up.  Then we found the scam  where "she" had written the exact words to many American men and decided to scam the scammers...it was delightful to get one over on them and we still laugh about that today.  We imagined big burley dudes in a smoke filled room writing crap to unsuspecting folks and we wrote our own.  They kept thinking there was a big payday coming their way, when we "killed off" our American sucker they stopped e-mailing and never heard another word.  When the world gives you lemons, make lemonade!

They called me today and hung up but the caller ID said "Out of State"  INTERESTING!!

I got a call from this dip-s**t----asked him where he was calling from and he said "Missouri" so I asked him which town and he said "Hollywood" and he said it was north of the state of "LA" so I assume he was a dip s**t from somewhere---------!!!

Although your caller ID gives the number format like it is coming from the New York City area code of 212, my incoming call detail (provided by Optimum) says these calls are actually coming from the country of Morocco, which is country number 212.

i  have  also  recieved  a call,   i let  him  speck  so  long  and  then   i  said "wiki wiki wiki  wiki,"    he  hung  up  on  me,  i  dont  know  why

Just got a call from 212-077-4568.  Didn't answer my phone because Caller ID said "Name Not Found".  Let it go to my answering machine.  Whoever it was didn't say anything, and hung up after 10 seconds.  After reading all the other posts, I'm glad I didn't answer my phone. Sounds like the scammers are getting pretty desperate.  

Time Warner said they were looking into this issue.  I could not block the number either because "the fourth number cannot be a zero or a one"  The Time Warner rep had no idea what to do about this issue.
