They called me tonight - 5 TIMES!  The first time he said that he knew the problem with my windows - I said I don't think you do...  (I have a Mac) and I told him not to call again, we wouldn't be falling for their scam and hung up.  He immediately called back and started yelling at me about how he wasn't scamming me.  I told him not to call and hung up.  He called back AGAIN, this time getting even more irate - "Want me to keep calling you?  Hang up again and see what happens!"  etc., etc.  The FOURTH time he called I finally got ticked - said something about you little !@#!@$#% ba$tard, I am reporting you to the authorities!  Which I promptly did.  He called back a FIFTH time - at that point he got the silent treatment.  He ranted and raved while we sat there and laughed.  He did call me a f'in old lady and other such stuff.  We'll see if he calls back tomorrow.  If so, he will be treated to a lovely rendition of Jingle Bells.  

My personal opinion, if we were monitoring our own citizens following 9/11, we @should@ be able to know who's calling into the US, hunt them down and close shop.  The only thing helping us, people are choosing mobile over PC,  so these loser nations will have to adapt their scripts and learn all over again... or they can just check apple. com & find out the latest hole in iOS.

Same conversation, it department, computer infected.  Wanted me to do something, hard to understand him but when I said I didn't have time at the moment but if he would give me a phone number and a company name I would call back.  That was the end of the call, he hung up.

Guy called me today, couldn't understand a word he said, except that he wanted information about my computer. Told him he wasn't getting ANY information from me, and hung up.

This number called me the day after I had a computer issue and was working with my support dept. He had a accent and talked fast, I hung up because I thought it was a bill collector. I was upset thinking that bill collectors got my new work#. After reading these, im glad I did hang up. Im more glad im in major debt. Because if I had no debt to be ashamed of, I would have gave this jerk everything he wanted. I would have thought it was a follow-up call from my previous days headaches. Being in debt has its benefits! YESS!

Got a call from this number (ID = "NAME NOT FOUND") 2/19/14 at 2:37 pm.  We are on the do not call registry.  QUIT CALLING!!!!

Just got this call- man spoke a foreign language. I didn't answer the call, I let t go to answering machine. I don't answer calls that I don't recognize the number

I have received a call from these people for probably a year now or more.  They have accents and tell me they are calling from windows.  I tell them what I know and that windows would not call me if I had a virus.  One time I even told them I didn't have a computer.  Another time my son got on the phone and started to speak Russian to them so they hung up.  Today they called and I told them not to call my home.  Be careful, don't give these people any of your info. or too much time.

Received a call from this number about 10 minutes ago.  Caller ID said "name not found"  I don't answer this type of call.  Left no message.

Told them I'm running Lunix..

i received a call from "Peter" at Health tech about a big error with my computer.
he knew my name, husband's name, address, phone number, that we used ATT, etc etc etc
i asked if he was calling from NY.  he said no, he was calling from las vegas.
i asked for his phone number so i could call him back when i had more time to discuss the issue.
"Peter" said his phone number was 0714 539-0018.
i wonder if ATT has been compromised or gave out our info?
strong accent when he spoke & was a bit hostile on the phone.

Had a blast with them acted like a senior citizen and went with it. Started by going to window and opening it, he said to type in a address so said I though you wanted me to open a window. He got a little flustered so I said hold on let me turn on my computer. I then went to the refrigerator and yes I do have milk and eggs but I am low are you bringing me more when you visit me tonight. He started getting pissed so I finally went to the pc and "started it up". I waited till he asked what was going on so I said it takes a few minutes its old from 1999. He started to get even madder so, I said its on now what? He told me to go on line I told him I had dial up and picked up an extension and started trying to call out with it. He hung up after f bombing me was 15 minutes of fun for me.

They are in another country our laws mean $#it to them. Reporting will not do anything unfortunately.

Of course, that shouldn't have come to you as any surprise at all.  There are NO legitimate phone numbers in North America in which the next three numbers following the area code are less than 200.  Here, it is 077, which is invalid.

This quirk exists for the historical reason that, at one time, and still in many areas, both 7 and 8 digit dialing was allowed.  If a seven digit number started with "0," unless the delays in the switching equipment were set JUST RIGHT, a manually dialed call could easily timeout and be intercepted by an operator, who would then have to handle it personally.  If a 7 digit number started with a "1," by the time you had dialed the seventh digit, the telephone switching equipment would expect you to dial at least one more digit for an in-state toll call, or four more digits for a call to another area code.  

Thus, there are NO 7-digit numbers you can dial that begin with "0" and it follows that there are no 10 digit numbers in which the second group of three digits starts with a 0 or a 1.

There are similar limitations on the area code, except that the smallest area code allowed and in service is 201.

Change to another phone service that allows blocking of these calls.  I have a VoIP service that allows me to block all invalid phone numbers by checking a single box.

There is absolutely no reason for your phone company not to be able to block these numbers, too, except that they collect a termination fee from the carrier that sent them the call to deliver to your phone.

You could also try opening the window on your microwave oven and putting something that would be safe to heat up for a few minutes.  If there are any electronic buttons on it, you could continue the fun!  And there probably is a windows button on it - a mechanical one that unlatches the front door with the window in it!  When the caller asks what do you see after pressing the "keyboard," you can say "I'm looking through the window right now, and things are going around and around, bubbling and steaming.  Should I turn it off yet?"

Got a call from this number and it was a man with an Indian accent. He said he was from Healthcare tech and my computer was infected. They had called before so I played stupid to completely waste his time. I pretended I knew nothing about computers. After about 10 minutes he said ma'am please find the CTRL button...I took about 10 minutes asking him where is was on the keyboard. He was getting frustrated. He then said find the button beside the CTRl button that looks like a flag (the windows button). I still pretended to know nothing about computers. Then I said" Do you really think I'm that stupid" I'm a computer technician myself and you are a scam. He was still trying to convince me that they take care of all the computers in the world (those were his exact words)

They called me as well wanting to take over my computer./  YEA RIGHT.  I told him my son is a computer engineer and he handles all my computer needs.  I also told them quit frauding people and just leave it to the professionals, he said nothing and stalled.  It is a scam so they can get to your ID address of your computer and get have access to anything you have on there.  DO NOT TAKE THEIR CALLS
