Same, Thick accent, asked for manager, someone said hello, i asked what company they were and they said microsoft, I asked how did they get my number and he said i was using windows. I said what does that have to do with it and then he hung up on me.

Scam! This guy tries to get you to give him Remote Access to your computer. DO NOT DO ANYTHING HE TELLS YOU. HANG UP!

OK,  another call that was from New York. No message left. Reading all the complaints people are saying and wondering what can be done about these calls.
also I am onthe national no call list and still receive these calls.
These people need to be stopped.  Does anyone out there know how we can stop these annoying calls.
Do not give out your phone to any store clerk's because they sell them.

Received 2 of these calls just this week. I told him the first time never to call me again. Called just a few minutes ago from same number but didn't answer this time.

Reviewed call from woman with accent about computer problems and when my old man responded with he doesn't know much about a computer she just bluntly said that he was a loser and this family don't kind to no name calling especially of an adult.

212-077-4568 keeps calling and no message.

Pretty much the same story that I'm reading here.  I did insist on a call back number and he grace me one with an 885 area code.  I did record the entire call and will report it.

This scammer has called me several times and says there is something wrong with my computer, which is not true. They are a scam.

Claimed he was from Dell. Said someone was tracking my computer whenever I was on it. Wanted me to go online. I hung up.

caller said the same as the other posts and our number is on the no call list.  I'm having trouble  deciding which scam is the worst.

Foreign accent then they hung up. My phone log indicates they have called before but this time I picked up and as soon as I did they hung up. I have now forwarded their number to the joke hotline next time they call.

Sounds identical to what everyone else was reporting.  I missed the first time he called (same situation as Joe Reported above me), picked up the second time.  He had a heavy Indian accent and claimed he was with (something about IT department? I couldn't understand him well)  and that my computer was at risk.  When I asked him how he knew that, he got really cranky and said through my Microsoft account which was installed on a PC and that my number was etc. etc.  He then asked me to hit win+r and type in something (sounded like it started with "event + ...").  I promptly interrupted him and hung up.

Yup, just received the same call. I put it on block.

Got a call from this number. Didn't answer it.

Same call here. I have no idea who it is. no company name on there. he says something is wrong with your computer
he is creepy lol but the voice is sooo hard to understand. sounds Japanese.

Got call.  Asked to be taken off the call list.  Was told by the caller to "Kiss my ass." Would love to find out how to report this person,

I just got a call from the number today 212-077-4568 with a man saying he was from Help Tech 24 and that my computer was infected. I am disabled and he keeps calling. I cannot seem to block him. Of course he didn't care and wanted me to open up my computer so he could help me "remove the problem" and of course I said NO. He says he is going to call again. I don't want this creep calling me again. Isnt there anyway to catch this joker?

Probably not, most of these scammers are not here, but in India and other foreign country's as a general rule. File complaints with your phone company for a start - they should be able to block it..   Most of these are spoofed numbers, you should be able to block them if you have a call blocking device or phone.  Some of those Devices you can block by area code with as well.

same group of ayholes  called here. I let the dipstick talk on, he got to a point where he's asking me if I know how to pull up a command prompt, then I let him know I was a software developer,  and hung up (after adding some comments about his mother).

I should've gone longer,  does anyone know what command they want you to run?

Told me he was calling stating they've received info that my computer is infected.  Said they are on the MS Windows team..  Heavy Indian accent.  I played along.  Asked what the actual name of the company was.. they said it was (and he had to think)  IT helpdesk (yea right).  I continued to play along.. transferred me to their next level "support".. I asked him if he knew what my IP address was and he quickly gave me a bogus answer.. it was a good guess but he was wrong.. I continued to play along.  Then he asked me to get into my DOS prompts.. He was guiding me as if he thought  I was an absolute novice.. I played  some more.. Then he asked me to type "assoc"... no harm in that. I did it.  Then I asked him why he wanted to know the program associations... then he finally figured out I wasn't born yesterday.. He got mad and told me "don' you know it's not polite to play around with telemarketers"?  He hug up before I could tell him where to stick it.. It's the next step you guys need to watch out for.. it would have been a ploy for him to take control  of my computer.
What can we do to shut these guys down?
