I recieved a message from a lady named Julie saying she represents BJ's Wholesale company and would like to speak with me about a position for store manager.  I called the number back and was on hold for 45 min BOTH times I called during different times of the day.  This seems to be a phising (trying to get information out of us ie...Social security numbers and birthdates) scam.  It sucks that they are targeting the unemployed people who are trying to better themselves.  The last damn thing I need right now is for a company to be wasting my job search time!  I wish there was a way that they could get caught doing this scam so no one else falls into the trap.  I am just glad that this sight exists, I wasn't here to answer that call, and that people like me have left messages to get the word out on this number and scam.  Thanks to all of you who have commented before and hope that no one else has giving this company any information.  Its 2007 and you can't trust NO ONE!

I am glad that I looked up this number and found this site.  I had the same experience as Mina.  I sent information online to powerjobapp.com/tenn.  It didn't have the secure site lock, but I entered my personal info. anyway.

    Hi guys,
I'm so glad I found this site.  I received a call from this number also in regards to a position, and stated the company as "Company confidential". These people are getting info from monster.com & careerbuilder. It really ticks me off people would stoop so low to prey on the unemployed! The last people who have time or resources to waste.  Something told me to investigate this; I couldn't for the life of me figure out why someone in L.A. would be calling Charlotte with a job offer.  Now I know it's just another scam.  We have come to a very disheartning state in this country I pray (other than quickly finding another job) that these scumbags are caught & severly prosecuted.

They did not leave a message.  I called the number and it mentioned a Human Resources department and hours of operation.

    Thank you for posting this!

Yesterday I applied to a Customer Service job on CareerBuilder.com and followed the link to enter my name, address, email and phone number. This morning I had an email to verify the exact same information I applied with yesterday. Then this guy (I didn't get his name) just called me from 213-325-3204 to verify the exact same information. Since each "verification" included questions about my continuing my education, I suspected this might be a marketing plan to get me to invest in going to their college (like Phoenix).

He said they were a third party verification service, they had many customer service jobs from places like AT&T and Verizon starting at $17.50 an hour, and that someone would call me back for an interview probably Thursday. I'm SO GLAD I haven't given out my SS#!!!

If/when they call back, I'll tell them I'm not interested.

this is the 2nd time someone from this number has called me. I screened the first call, read this website and then told them they had the wrong number when they called again. what's strange though....my resume is floating around out there, but it has my maiden name on it. the guy that called from this number asked for me using my married name....*cue music from Twilight Zone*

I haven't received the call yet, but then I didn't apply when sent to powerjobapp.  Please do not send your personal info to this website or verify it by phone; it is an obvious scam.  First, the letter always says "our client" and then names a large corporation.  No real headhunters or employment agencies do this -- agencies want you to contact them and never name their client.  Next, who is "our"?  If you go to powerjobapp, there is no identifying info, and no one to contact for results on your application.  You have no way of knowing where your info is going!  Finally, if you have already applied to the company directly, contact them directly;  if you wish to apply, go to the company website to find out if the
opportunity really exists and apply there.

Scammers are getting our info from careerbuilder and monster, which have too much of our info already and have been less than helpful in my search so far.  Believe me, I know the search is frustrating, but don't fall prey to these scams.  One last tip:  don't put your social or birth date on any on-line applications; potential employers understand and allow you to give this info at the time of the interview if they are interested.

Happy hunting to all my fellow unemployees!

I'm glad I came across this site as well.  I received a missed call and a message to call back w/ a reference number, similar to what others have experienced.  Looks like all of us are job seekers and are getting straight scammed!  I won't waste my time calling them back.  Thank goodness for this site.

Same here.  Called 213-325-3204 and received a recorder with annoying music.  The position was for LockSmith as a customer service rep.

Same thing, said I applied for a job on 10/9/07; I didn't as I was on vacation. They said it was for an admin position & when I said i would look up my paperwork she hung up. Only found the phone number after *69 and reverse phone number look up. Yikes, scary to think they have called all of these people.

I got a call today from that number and looked it up online and got to this place.  Please refrain from talking to these people.

I diales the number back (out of curiosity) and the rep said it was a "mistake" I told him his company was running some kind of scam and he immediately hung up on me.  Please be careful, he staretd asking me personal info (name, address, etc).

I also responded to an email after posting my resume' on CareerBuilders.com; Shidnia Cocolin called and left a message on my home phone that DNY Mellon Bank was interested in me as an Accountant and left the number 213-325-3204 and said to refer to ID# 804706. She had a heavy accent, and I had to replay the message several times to understand all the numbers. It sounded like they are some sort of Employment Agents, but I am not calling them back after reading all the comments here.

They also left a ref# 806878 for a receptionist position. I am so glad that I checked on google to and found this website. I hope that they are Caught!! What jerks!! please don't call this number back or if you do answer don't give out any information!
