I read your message...and all I do is say "hello". who are you? Then tell them to take you off their list..and say it firmly cause it scares the crap out of them, and after when you tell them to take you off their list THREATEN them that if they ever call again..you will sue them and chances are..they wont be calling you back..but if they do, write it down when and what time they did call just to be sure incase..then call the number and ask for corporate..but im sure they wont go through all that trouble..i hope this helps...sorry it's too long!!

A little over a month ago I applied for a position with Barnes & Noble in their PR department.  A few weeks later I got an e-mail from Career Source Team Careers indicating they had looked at my resume and were interested in offering me a retail job.  The wording was off, but I assumed it was a case of my resume being given to whoever was responsible for retail hiring, and they hadn't paid much attention to my resume; it's happened before at legitimate jobs I've applied for.

So I went to the link provided, uploaded my resume, and at the bottom of the page there was a note that the company was interested to know if potential employers were interested in further education.  I clicked on "yes," as it was worded as though it might lead to an in-company training progression.

Well, instead it took me to a page where it started asking me for information on where I lived and schools nearby I'd like to have more information on.  Almost immediately the page went crazy and my browser closed.

Still thinking it was a legitimate ad I tried to contact the company about what happened, fearful that my application didn't go through.  Every e-mail listed in the message sent to me gave me a bounceback message, and I went back to the page and looked through it.

It had dozens of listings of jobs to apply for, and I kid you not one was "Cheese Eater . . . You do stuff," which was labeled as an IBM position.  I realized it was a scam, and got angry that I fell for it because they were lucky enough to claim they had a job for me at a company I had applied to.

In the intervening weeks I've received several more e-mails from Career Source Teams and several other supposed job sites, all worded exactly the same as the B&N job offer.  I've ignored them, and I figured it was just junk e-mail I'd have to put up with.

I came home tonight to find out I received a call from 213-325-3204, which my father took.  I don't know exactly what was said, but apparently he offended my father somehow, becoming belligerent when my father asked for a contact name when he took the man's number and ID# for a job at B&N.  I came online to look up the number and found this page.

This really upsets me for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is I had to turn down a good job yesterday because I would have had to move, and since I take care of my parents that's not an option.  I really thought for a minute that B&N had called back about the PR job I had applied for, which would have been a local job for me.

So, yeah, if there's anyone who knows how we can put this idiot to bed on his calling and scamming for school info please post it here.

I posted my resume on CareerBuilder, and this company has emailed be about jobs for Old Navy.  It didn't sound legitimate to me, so I looked up the company online, and sure enough they were bogus.  They have also been phoning me from this number about jobs at Old Navy, and well as Victoria's Secret. They have also been calling me from (713) 518-1083.

I checked my phone while on my break at work, saw a number I didn't recognize and looked up the area code. I saw that it was LA and just assumed it was a friend of mine who lives out there, I did think that it was weird that he'd be calling at 9:30 am his time because that's when he's usually at work. I just called him on his cell phone and told him about someone calling me from LA and not leaving a message. He typed the number into google and found me this.
I did apply for a job online and after reading what everyone here has said I'm guessing that's how my number was found. So glad I found this instead of wasting my time calling back.

Received a call from 213-325-3204. I didnt answer because I did not recognize the number. They left a message saying that they were from Employment Services and that they needed to verify some info for a client of theirs who I had applied to. DONT FALL FOR IT PEOPLE!!! I am currently looking for a job and I am listed on a couple of job search sites. Here is what I am thinking about this entire situation. They are getting peoples numbers off of there resumes from these job search sites. The job market is really f@#$56 up right now so there are some people who would be desperate enough to provide their info (SSN,DOB). I read a previous comment from a person who provided their SSN over the phone to these people. NEVER EVER GIVE YOUR INFO TO SOMEONE THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW OVER THE PHONE. Desperate times breed these types of scams. Its really sad that people are getting laid off for corporate greed. I am looking for a job because the company that I am currently employed with has started a operation in India and I feel that sooner or later we will be laid off. These corporations are making huge profits in the USA but they can make more by taking their operations over seas. Pure greed but they call it Democracy. Since a Democracy provides options, support USA products and companies. Become a more conscious consumer. I dont care if youre a DEM or a REP. We have to take care of ourselves because the politicians are not. Let these companies know that it is not ok to ship-off American jobs but still want the American dollar.

I looked this number up as they didn't leave a message.  I did some researching on my own, because I remembered some fishy e-mails I received from job opportunities.  Finally, I found out this all started from when I was looking up jobs under CraigsList, there was a position for marketing/Account Rep. but NO Company was listed.  As I wa slooking through my e-mails, I realized I had applied to this job, and they e-mailed me back asking to fill out a survey because they had been receiving many e-mails etc etc, so I did! This is where it all started from.  I guess from this story...do NOT send out e-mails to companies that show no name--it's probably too good to be true!

And also, to watch out for this, their e-mail format usually  says "Dear blah blah, I think you are really qualified for this job.....please fill out this application."  That's the jist of it all.  But don't!  As I can read, this is a spam, and I'm pissed they have my information now.  I knew I shouldn't have filled it out, I had a funny feeling--and BF told me not to- but I am in need of finding a job so badly right now.

Yeah, they're gonna "verify" your info. all right. Can you say "Identity Theft?" When you apply for the job, the company itself will call you back if interested. DO NOT talk to a third party unless you want your identity stolen.

I got a call from this number and no message was left. After reading this website my curiousity got to me so I called back. The automated machine says they're with Employment Select and they're a "Verification Company that is contracted by 100's of Fortune 500 Companies" then it lists off a list of a bunch of places they work for including JP Morgan Chase, Verizon, Gap, etc - after being on hold for 5 minutes they say the whole Confidential Client... if I applied why is it confidential?

I just got a call from this number and didn't answer.  They didn't leave a message so I thought I would google it and found this site.  I got a ob app from careerswift.com and stupidly filled out the app.  From what I remember I just filled out my name, address and phone but don't think there was a place where I filled out my DOB or SSN.  I hope I didn't!  I have been applying and interviewing so much it's all a blur so I don't remember.  Has anyone applied through this site or one similar and remember what all was asked?  I would NEVER give my info out on the phone and I think it sucks that people are out there scaming the unemployed like this.  If there was a way to take these people down, I would love to be in on it.

Why does it seem that Career Builder and Monster give you more scams than real jobs??  Grrrrr

Received call from 213-325-3204 12:12 pm 3/31/08. I was away from my cell phone and did not answer.  I got a voicemail message that was in the form of an autodialed recording and started in the middle of the message.  It stated that I should remain on hold while a line was opened for me, then ended shortly thereafter, again in mid-message.
