I finally, get in touch with one of the lady, asking me about my education and degree regarding to one of the jop I was applying online, but could not not tell me the name of the company and the job description ect...- Caller: na
- JosephI just received a call from this number. A computer recording picked up asking me to wait for the next available verification associate. It then went straight to voicemail where a woman with a fake English accent advised me to call at a later time. I thought it was strange that when you call back, the company name is not mentioned. I know now to be careful with who I give my information to.
- Caller: Human Resources
- SandyI too have been looking for work thru CareerBuilder, Hot Jobs and Monster and have gotten numerous links to supply further info. Can't remember if I've given anything pertinent but this is scary! How can we protect ourselves? Who do we report this to? Can a person CHANGE their SS#?????
- Jim replies to Mandy KI received a call stating that they were from Wachovia, because i don't trust 213 numbers, i called wachovia directly with the job ref number that was listed. As i suspected they had no knowledge of it. they also do not have a HR office for hiring in LA. The manager was going to look into this form their standpoint to see what could be done. I would trust any of these numbers
- ~me~It is just a verification agency. They didn't ask for my social security number or my date of birth. I'm not sweating anything. It just seems that they are verifying information for your potential employers. They seemed to push schooling quite a bit, but who knows, maybe its just schooling they're trying to get us, unemployees, to get into. Either way the most personal information they ask for is address/phone number. Thats it.
- fleeaThink this is a way for bill collectors to get you to give them references "by disquising themselves as potential employers" So they
can harass and embarass you. This should be illegal! - Ro-Manson replies to CherylSame here, very spooky! They are up to no good!
- InstructorRcv a call on my cell phone, did not answere, called bk, and english lady gave hours and then disconnected.
- Caller: UNKNOW
- Alisha replies to meReceived a call as well, got through right away but hung up because they asked for my phone number first. I called back because I thought it might be a background agency since I applied to some jobs, but can't get through-only a lady with a bad english accent...
- tpcooperGot a call from them on the 15th as well at 8 AM central time. I highly doubt a verification company would be calling at 6 AM their time. They did not leave a voice mail, and when I did a reverse look up it came up as an unlisted residential phone number. Have not bothered calling them back.
Reverse look-up on whitepages.com: (213) 325-3204 is Unpublished or Unavailable - TenGot a phone call last night or this morning - it's Saturday now. Odd to be calling on a saturday. I called, got no answer just their "HR" recording with a very nice upper crust british accent. I won't call back.
- Don't be fouledBEWARE - DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION. I received a call from this number; because I have been applying to multiple opportunities, I am answering all calls - even if I don't recognize the number. The caller identified herself as an HR representative from Employee Selective calling to verify my information for their confidential client prior to recommending me for an interview. As she began her questions to "validate" my information, I asked her what company she was seeking my information for. She said that the client is confidential and repeated her first sentence. I started to ask her more questions about her agency while I ran a quick internet search and told her that I do not provide my personal information, particularly if I don't know who or for what purpose. [NOTE: Legitimate agencies seeking information and validating information from your resume will identify themselves.] When I started to ask her questions about her agency, she made an offensive tssst sound and hung up.
The question that I asked is if she had an affiliation with us-careersite.us.com . Last week us-careersite.us.com, an agency that professed to represent Lockheed Martin sent me an e-mail. The notice came through with the subject: Lockheed Martin is hiring. The context of the e-mail indicated that my resume and profile is a perfect match for a new employment opportunity in my area and asked me to fill out a quick survey so that they could forward my information for an interview. The document was signed "Senior HR Partner for Lockheed Martin". I was excited, and admittedly naive. I started filling out the questionnaire, and realized fairly quickly that it began to sound more like a solicitation than a legitimate job offer, I tried to cancel out (after I'd already loaded my resume) and received a note saying, thank you, your information has been submitted for review. I contacted Lockheed Martin, and they confirmed us-careersite.us.com is a known scam, they are aware that us-careersite.us.com has been using their name to violate job seekers, extended a sincere apology, and informed me they are currently seeking litigation. Since then ... I've been getting bombarded with e-mail viruses, spam, and now harassing phone calls.
I've also filed a complaint with the US Postal Inspection http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud/GetOffMailingLists.htm
Lesson learned the hard way :(.- Caller: Employee Selective
- zoethey called at 8 pm and i didnt answer. i called back at 9:30 and the recording said they closed at 7.
- JPThey just called me on my cell phone a few minutes ago, but they didnt leave a message. At the time I wish I had picked it up; I'm in the Pacific NW and this CA number cant be too far away. I'm also looking for a job and any nibbles will do. These people are terrible. If they're preying on ppl looking for jobs and lifting info from job sites, why are they being so elusive? Scam us if they're going to scam us! [***].
- Caller: unknown company
- kayi just got a prank from these people too. Then when i called back (no message was left i got the # form Caller ID) they said it was a mistake
- JLCalled, but no message. Glad I saw this site. I've been looking on CareerBuilder, Monster, etc., too. My phone number is on the do not call list, though, so they shouldn't be solicting anyway.
- Caller: Unknown
- HollyThis is a scam. The represented themselves as being affiliated with Lockheed Martin. I personally know the HR Director at my local Lockheed Martin and apparently Web sites like this have been a problem. I submitted my information thinking it was a real job advertisement, and it was not. I immediately got worried, since they now have my information. Then I received a call from this number. I might call and ask them to remove me. This is some sort of scam to sell you phone service or to get you involved in education opportunities that you did not ask for.
- Caller: VeriResume
