- MarionI just missed a call from 213-325-3204 and they didn't leave a message either. I'm glad I googled their number before calling them back. Thanks for the input everyone!
- LRI also got the call. They said they needed to verify info off my resume for a client based on an application I filled out. They didn't ask me anything that wasn't on my resume. They did give me the title of the job and date I applied. That information was accurate, I did apply for the job on the date they stated. They asked me one question regarding education but I am currently attending college online.
- Call type: Debt collector
- DANCalls left no msg
- PennsylvaniaI also received a call from this 213-325-3204 number today. I did not recognize the number so i did not pick up. They did not leave a message. I called back and they said it was some kind of verification through a third party that works with top companies. I immediately hung up after I started to read all these comments. It was from a company that kept asking how and when i wanted to further my education. I think its [***] and Im gonna tell them im not interested if they call back. Thanks everyone!!

- BrendanI received a call but no voicemail from this number. I do have my resume up on Monster.
- Brenda replies to rayI recieved the same call from the same number on my cell. I did not know the number so I did not answer. I had applied for a position on Career Builders and I then in return get an e-mail back from this Douglas Thompson guy who says he is in HR. I also tried to google Employment Select and got nothing. No contact info at all just an e-mail. I hope that Career Builder did not give my info out to anyone. I am willing to join you in a class action lawsuit. Career Builder needs to have better people screening job postings and making sure they are actually a working job.
- ERAYThis is really sad. I am moving from Ohio to Atlanta. I got this call as well for a CSR job that I apply to. I knew something was strange when they called on a Sat, then I check my email and they wanted to know about my college education and my outstanding loans I had and give my SS and DOB of birth to make it easy for the company to check my info. My McAfee turned red and I stop filling it out and close it out. Then I Google it and I am glad I did.
- Jane replies to Dena| 1 replyYou should contact your local Office of Consumer Affairs. Remember not to give anyone your SS#. Good luck! I am also looking for a job and this on line stuff is crazy.
- Jenifer D.I didn't answer this number either; anything outside my area code, unless i recognize the number, get's ignored.
- treeI received a call from this number this morning in regards to a job too. I am in NC why would someone be calling from Cali. I called the number back and it said Employment Select, and was put on hold too. I looked into the website of Employment Select and I think it's just a scam too. We all have to beware.
- Caller: Employment Select
- RonHello from Florida. What they have done is entice people to divulge personal information with the promise of employment consideration. I believe there is an element of fraud here and that everyone who visited that web site has a right to request that their information be purged from their system. I also believe that the purge should be verified. They should also have to disclose any and all parties they have forwarded the information to. Anyone who want's to seriously discuss it can reach me at: arcarorj@yahoo.com.
Ron - wendy-p toccoa ga- may 22 2008Thanks so much for your posts, I recieved this call. I didnt answer it. I dont answer numbers I dont know.
I dont need these issues....I deleted the number immediately after reading the responses. - williamReceived a vm on my phone from 213 325-3204, and when I went to check the message, an automated voice just said "verification number," and hung up. So I tried to look up the number on both whitepages.com and yellowpages.com, and it said the number was from Los Angeles, and nothing else. The strange this is, I don't know anyone who lives or works in California. I live in Pa, and have never used Career builder; so I have no idea how they got my number. I have used craigslist to apply for jobs recently, Administrative positions in fact, but nothing in California.
- AccountantI got an email first regarding an application I filled out for an Administrative Assistant. Interesting because I have my Master in Accounting/Finance and wouldn't have applied for such a position. Today I got a call from this number, I don't answer long distance calls that I don't know. A message wasn't left.
BEWARE!!! Apparently the job sites that are to help you have apparently not used a good security for their listings! - AllisonI was on hold for 22 mins listening to cheesy band music. Every few minutes a recording would come on and say "We're an employment verification company and are responding to an application you submitted. Please stay on the line and an employment verification specialist will be w/ you shortly". After so long on hold I thought that if they really wanted to talk to me, they wouldn't call and put me on hold for so long.

- Michelle replies to ray| 2 repliesI just got a call from Ty from this exact number. Since I am at work and unable to talk, I asked for the number to call him back. He didnt want to give it to me and then hung up. I googled the number and saw your posting and now I know for sure it was a scam! Thanks.
- Jacquie replies to Michelle| 1 replyI just received a call from this number about an hour ago and I am also on the job hunt and have used Career Builders so I am sure that our numbers are being distributed to some weirdos. I did not try to call back but checked the short voicemail that was left and all it was just an automated voice saying "Representative."
- Heather| 1 replyI just got a call from this number, with a man's voice saying they were calling about my job application to a confidential company. Then a woman's voice came on telling me to wait for a representative who would verify my information. I hung up. Then I did a quick Web search and found that it was a scam.
- Caller: Unknown
