- Sara| 1 replyWhen I finally learned this number was for a CDC survey I answered their next call because we all benefit from health surveys. It seems many like to enjoy the health and medical standards of this country but complain if we have to contribute anything to it's research and development.

- In San Diego| 1 replyI've gotten 10-12 calls from this number.I have never answered. I've done a little research and they appear to be somewhat legit.
I will not answer because I'm not a 100% sure it's legit. Even if they are legit it bothers me they keep calling.
Why not move on to the next number after 2 or 3 attempts. It seems to me they need to review their practices and procedures. - Irked in L.A.I got this call too - They said the were calling from the CDC for the University of Chicago for a study on cell phone usage and cancer from the radiation. They sked if I was over 18. Then asked if I had a landline. Then asked how likely/frequently was I to answer the landline.
I stopped the conversation and asked her what kind of [***] was this? She said the study is trying to identify if the person only uses their cellphone at home or if they use the landline too. I told her that was flawed logic and the question was moot because what about a work environment? I told her I didn't believe this was really from the CDC anyway. I told her to just put down "pass" on the question and then she said she was ending the survey because it was only for homes without a landline. Well if it was only for homes without a landline then why did she keep going after she asked about the landline?
Anyway - this settles it for me. I am not answering any more surveys unless I sign up for them in advance.- Caller: University of Chicago

- NikkitaMere| 1 replyThe NORC social survey place w/ this number is a legitimate research institute that's been working for over 50 years
You won't get swine flu if you answer their surveys!
They even need crazy people like the teabagger "gov't caused my cold" types, to get to the extent of the anti-science dribble that is driving people to put their kids at risk. - NikkiTaMere replies to In San DiegoBecause when your number is selected randomly, they need an answer from you for the validity of the survey.
You put upon people who can't answer a survey in 10 minutes -- your lives are so meaningless I really wish they WOULD stop calling you
Stop voting too, you people are just NUTS
"THE BLACK HELICOPTERS ARE COMINT TO COUNT MY TOLIETS FOR THE CENSUS! OH WOE IS ME!" - NikkitaMere replies to Robert| 2 repliesGet a grip.
I took the survey, it was all about the flu & my opinions about it & the shot & how it protects me;
Agencies like CDC do not call you themselves, they do disease control, not surveys.
they contact polling groups to do their surveys, & NORC at the University of Chicago has been doing this for at least 50 years for government agencies & what not, look at them on google if you don't believe me
no one was trying to sell me anything or get any personally identified
