The do not call list only works for 1800 #'s (1-866, 877, toll free etc) this is how these scammers get around it. You must call your cell/phone carrier and have the # blocked. Sprint just added this feature this week and Verizon already has it and AT&T should soon follow.

You might as well call  314-845-2825 and tell them to remove you they have your phone number anyway so it is not like they haven't just put you on list after list already.  That is silly call them tell them to remove you and they will. Give them a fake name if you want but chances are they have that too.  I called and the calls have stopped

The DO NOT CALL LIST IS ONLY FOR 1-800 #'s (877,866 etc) that is how these companies get around the DNC list.

In the email tell them to globally remove (your #) from their list(s)
Keep the email as proof of your request and if they continue to call file a complaint with the BBB and then contact the DNC Registrar to see how you can collect a fine from them.
My neighbor (who is a lawyer) got $500 from them after he emailed them, kept it and they violated it. Now I hope they call so that I can collect $500 each and every time!

Thats not what the Do Not Call site says.  The site says it applies to ALL telemarketers.  

The FTC doesn't have enough staff to go after all the violators, so they only go after the big ones, usually the ones with 800 numbers.  But thats a separate issue.

I have been getting calls from this phone# 314-963-8895 and the caller ID says NEWS.  I did in fact call  314-845-2825 "The Pisa Group" and spoke to a very nice gentleman named John.  I told him I would like to be removed from a computer auto-dialer and confirmed what their company did.  Apparently they are a sales and marketing organization that solicits for some 50 odd newspapers around the country.  I gave him my phone number and he told me it may take up to 72 hrs to get the info to all the offices but I would not get further calls after that.  I did fail however to ask how they got my phone number.  Not sure he could have told me anyhow.

i called 314-845-2825 and talked to a guy which i told i wanted my number off their call list and i stressed how displeased i was with them calling me constantly and he said my number would be off their call roster within 24 hrs. i also added my number to the dnc and so far i havent gotten any calls from 314 963 8895. however, another number has called twice in the last two days, 701 217 1542; a north dakota number, which the first time i failed to answer the call when it came in on the 30th of august. but i answered it today when it called and no one responded. >( apparently, it has called a few other people in the last few days. so i hope this isnt some strange coincidence.

this number has been calling me too and hanging up.  2 days in a row now.  I have also already done the do not call registry and so how is this getting through???  Any suggestions

Someone has been calling me from this number twice a day for a month.  I decided to finally answer it.  Caller was trying to sell the Birmingham News.  I asked to be removed from their list.

Same story.  They call and hang up.  I call back and get an answering machine.  Something about a local newspaper with a special offer... but the mailbox is full so you can't tell them to "screw-off"

Fortunately, I never leave my ringer on so I don't hear these idiots calling, but every single day there's at least one caller ID showing from this number, and the name above the number reads PAPER. There is never a voice mail. If I could find out who they are, I'd suggest they dip their "paper" in kerosene, light it, and stick it up their collective.......

Just found out that our local newspaper has given my cell number to the PISA Group (314-963-8895) after we cancelled our subscription.  Called the paper and they said they would put us on their no call list.

I just got a call from them as well.  I don't know who they are but I put them in as a prank call so I just ignore it.

I figured out how you can stop this: so I am clicking around on the internet trying to find the cause of why the hell I am getting daily calls that leave no answer and do not say anything. Everyone! This really works. I have been getting calls from this number for weeks! I don't answer because of the area code they are calling from. But I took the time to find out where the number was coming from on the internet and how I can stop it. The message above is from Mary223. I just called the number as asked to be removed from the list. They said ok with no questions asked! Thank U Mary!!

These people aren't scammers.  They are tele-marketers actually calling on behalf of your local newspaper. I know this because I actually DO subscribe to my local paper and my subscription had run out in August and they called "on behalf of the Birmingham News" to ask me to renew.  They knew the subscription that I had previously, how much I had paid for it, etc.  They aren't scammers. But they ARE telemarketers.
