I chose to answer this one; as with others, the CID said "News."  It was someone purporting to be from my local paper; when he asked if I was getting the paper here I flat-out lied (hey, THEY aren't above lying to get what THEY want...) and told him we were.  He asked if everything was okay, no problems, and I told him it was fine.  He said he'd update his records (which I presume to mean remove me from the list) and we hung up.

These calls are from a company called Pisa, which is hired by newspapers and other companies to increase sales, subscriptions, etc. If you are on the National Do Not Call List, such calls are a federal violation. Report this violation to the Do Not Call List website and the company will be fined. If you are not on the list there isn't much you can do except refuse to answer your phone and let the missed-call function work as a screen. Simply delete any numbers that aren't from people you know.

They called about 9:10 a.m.   I answered, "Hello."  They immediately hung up.  The caller i.d. said "News."

I called them back today.....if you call them back from the number they keep calling you on....there is an option that asks if you want that number REMOVED from their calling list.  It will be removed from their calling list within 24 hours.

The biggest loophole in our life is called "The US Government" and all its F-words starting with the FCC.

Again, an unwanted caller who just hangs up.  I don't know if it's the same moron each call, or what.

No one leaves a message.  I generally don't answer phone calls from numbers I don't recognize, but it's annoying to get a missed call and then realize its nobody I want to talk to.

I called the number back and pressed the indicated prompts to have my number removed from their call list.

I keep getting calls from this number.  When answered there is no one on the line.  I would like to be taken off whatever list, and have these calls stopped.  I get them several times a day at all hours of the day and night.

I called on 8/30/2012 and informed this number to remove my phone # from their calling list and was informed it would be removed within 48 hours.  I have since reeived calls on Sept 1st and 4th, which is more than 48 hours.  I have been receiving calls from this number every day for the last month since I cancelled my subscription for my local newspaper.  I added this number to my call reject list and they can't get through, however it is annoying to pick up the phone and see they are calling daily .

I did the same thing, following the prompts and was informed my number would be removed within 48 hours, it has been 5 days and I am still getting calls from this number.  I put this number on my call reject list for my cell phone.  They can't get rhrough, but they still keep calling.

The Do Not Call Registry does not work. I've had my number on there for years and still get calls from this number and others.

I too am getting calls from this number on my cell phone. When I tried to register it on the do not call registry, it would not enter into the box, no matter how many times I tired, does anyone have any idea why. I did have a subscription to the Las Vegas Review journal, which I cancelled, not sure if this is where they got my number, but I may just yell at them.
