- nick nack paddy whack give em all a loan replies to Nick at Nite- or Paddy WhackedDon't get me wrong. I have no sympathy for Kitchen Carolina.
I think it has been run incorrectly. As a sub who used to work there I can say they had many problems and the cure was to throw money at the problems, then they ran out of money. Cash flow is a very important part of doing business. You have to add in to the mix that they got so big so fast they hired anything that had a hammer, paid them, only to find out they had to rework what they had already paid for the first time and had to pay to get it done again and lets not even talk about accountability many of the so-called project managers delegated crap and that's what they got. Each and every kitchen I saw looked great and I am sure there are many customers that would say that, they could also say it took them a life time to get to the end of the job.
I am sure the company has before and after photos. I think those are the photos they should use instead of the phoney ones they pawn off as there own in that fancy flier.
Yes, people are owed money and people are owed kitchens this is certainly a sad situation but what a wonderful thing it would be if the company pulls out of this mess and becomes stronger.
As far as jobs being offered I saw that you could apply for a job. I have applied for bunches of jobs that I never got and I guess if i applied for one there I wouldn't get it either.
Being a bad business person is not a crime and I am sure that all the law enforcement agencies that have been notified have started an investigation. If no charges are filed maybe those agencies are part of the scam !
I say they should have every chance to prove they are going to fulfill all contracts and pay all monies owed.
At the same time we as consumers and subcontractor have to pound the living tar out of them to force them to perform and do better. Do not let them off the hook and in the end if they fail take them down as far as they can be taken.
If you type into google Kitchen Carolina the home page is #1 if you look a little further you find this forum.
If you want to get this forum to the #1 position then blog and tag and submit it to the correct article submission sites and you will get it to #1.
If you have the time I will give you the best submission sites. the google crawler loves them.it's easy to do but it takes time and tagging is most important. Then when any customers google "Kitchen Carolina" they get the complaint board as the #1or 2 search. I think we should give them either a little more time or a little more rope before we make it to hard for them.
I could write and slam them and give customer names and numbers. I could also contact other subs that have the numbers of many more customers and who could stop us from posting them..no one.
This of course would be mean and uncaring so I personally will hold off on any activity that may hamper the restructuring phase (if there really is one)
Lets see what happens - just a note replies to fool| 1 replyi would have to ask you to excuse yourself for using this kind of phrasing. In these desperate times everyone in the building industry willing to do what they need to do to support their families. I think it is quite rude to call them stupid. How about the customers falling for this company. no worker here call them stupid !

- CaraRe: Contract Question: Yes, Article 3.1 of your contract is binding. I work as a certified construction contract administrator. My work is on a much larger scale than home remodels (I work on large water treatement plants etc.) but a contract is just that...a contract. The verbiage stipulates that "the Work shall begin on the date of this Agreement unless a different date is stated here..." that means they have to begin on this date. Now, what constitutes work beginning can be anything. They can drop off a hammer and call it the beginning of work, but the firm substantial completion date limits that ability.
I feel most for the people who have had work done in the house and been left with shoddy craftsmanship. I was told that they only use master carpenters etc. but that doesn't sound like that's the case with the many problems people have been having. If you oversell a service you can't just use the best I suppose. What bothers me is that they knew this was coming when they came to my home to sell the remodel. If Contract Question's start date was supposed to be in September and they didn't start it...they knew damn good and well that this was a problem when they showed up at my door in October. That's a big crock of B.S.
Contract Question, I'm definitely wanting to fight this, I would be grateful for your real name and details of your situation if you don't mind. My email address is rottenapple@gmail.com It would definitely help me substantiate my claim with GE Money if I can show that they entered into this contract knowing they wouldn't adhere to the terms of the Agreement. If you're uneasy with that, I understand. Thank you either way! - Cara replies to Contract QuestionJust a side note, Contract Question is right, our online complaints won't hold up in court...but they will help substantiate complicency to GE Money. If nothing else, I'm using any and all documentation I can.
Thanks Contract Question for your offer of legal assistance to everyone! I'm hoping my own issues will be able to be resolved solely through GE Money as I have not had any work begun but even if it is, I will be more than willing to assist others in this. I'd like to give these guys a good swift kick in the nether regions.
I know times are tough but these cheerful little girls they have answering the phones kill me. So does Adam Hauser, the manager I spoke to yesterday. Times are tough and people need jobs and all but it's no excuse to behave like scum when you know what your company is doing. - Complaints Board . comGoto www.complaintsboard.com . I would bet lawyers peruse those sites looking for an abundance of complaints on one company. I am going to www.lawyers.com and post the www.complaintsboard.com and name Kitchen Carolina. Lawyers.com meet Compaints-at-KitchenCarolina.com ....Which one of you ambulance chasers want this one ?
BTW; Mr. Selfors did buy a new home. Whether he paid cash for it or not would be interesting. He would have to prove that money was earned for normal wages...and not embezzled from the company. - Lawyers.com ....| 1 reply

And if you don't win you have to pay more.
I think that if you are a home owner and your kitchen is not finished you must keep on trying to get them to finish your kitchen and if you have not done any documentation you need to start by logging your phone calls and writing down everything. Take pictures with a digital camera so it is time stamped each and every day of all the unfinished work.
Documentation is the key to you wining your case.
Screw that start date and finish date balony in your contract I am sure there is some sort of qualifier in that contract that covers it.
Give it a little more time, get the work done yourself if you can and take them to court to make them pay or get a judgment.
You can't get blood from a turnip. And if the company does go bankrupt and becomes insolvent you will still have to finish your kitchen and will get nothing for it.
They are working, they do have an office full of people that are being paid. They are finishing kitchens and trying to revive a cash flow.
They have not paid many of the subs what they owe and know that unless these subs have put their legal ducks in a row they can not file a successful lien and if they do, by the time it goes to court they will have either paid the sub or become insolvent. - Annie replies to ConcernedThings have quited down... No more reference calls in weeks now. As for the kitchen it is all that was promised and it has been completed. I guess we were one of the lucky ones.
- Mike L'Italian replies to For Installers:i just got off the phone with catherine from the contractors board and was informed that , Kitchen Carolina can not be brought to court thru the contractors board un less the Kitchen (including flooring, electricial and plumbing) are valued at $30,000.00 or above that price. if theres a customer in here with a Kitchen that is valued at that price or above then contact catherine at the contractors board . She said if there under
$30,000 then get an attorney or contact attorney generals office. Also if you file a claim against them its should be filed as DealerStaff Inc not Kitchen Carolina. If anyone needs work done at there home then please call me at 910-295-3288 or my cell 757-646-2586, as i am out of work and theres not to many jobs out there. i have references and am a good worker who does good work. OH and i have all my own tools lol thanks - lien clear up.... replies to laughing at youto all, of course can a sub file a lien against the homeowner. It would be called a manufactures lien, which in law terms are the most terrible liens you can have sitting on yourself..... there will always be a better lawyer who will make things work for someone......

Class action is how we need to pull together. - CaraI called Armstrong to see if I could find out whether cabinets have been ordered or not. I told the guy that answered that I wanted to know if an order had been placed by a company that's going out of business and he said "You mean Kitchen Carolina, right?". Yikes. Definitely not a good sign that I didn't even have to name the company.
