I have been waiting since September to get a kitchen installed. They started off strong outside of some incorrect measurments and having to ge back to obtain some new cabinets. In the past week or so, things have come to halt. In the past 24 hours, I was told KC filed for bankruptcy. I am completly screwed as I have no kitchen and 3 kids to try and feed. This company has no idea of what they are doing and the turn over rate of the company is completly out of control. I guess this is known at this point!!!

I worked for them. Went to 7 jobs before they sent me to a house ready for tile. They are very unorganized and pay their installers and contractors terriable. Only did 1 job for them and it was the last. They should be ashamed

so have you heard any more news on KC. Still can't get thru to them but they claim from the BBB website that they are not taking on new kitchens just trying to finish old kitchens (trying to quickly get done before the bankruptcy is official is my guess.

Apparently you do not know what you are talking about.  The damned company has closed their doors due the embezzlement by company owner.  And they do requireq full payment up front and do not complete their jobs on time!

All I know is that I have worked for them since April of this year and have been paid for everything that I have done and the jobs have looked good. This morning I was out to do some repairs and received a phone call telling me that the doors had been closed. I had a check in my hands from them for 1,600.00. I turned around and went to the bank and the check cashed. They still owe me some money, about 300 dollars but I am sure there are other installers that are owed much more.
The electricians and plumbers I see are of the top quality unfortunately some the tile guys they have hired have done a horrible job and I have removed several floors and back splashes to satisfy angry customers.

I really hope this company can get back on their feet and rolling again. The changes that were made in the last few months have been for the better but many changes still need to be made.

If I was to continue with them they would have to do a better job with the hiring. They don't need 100 project managers running jobs from their [***] 100 miles away, they need qualified people making sure that they are hiring qualified people to do the installs and pay them good for it. Don't let some 21 year old girl with a nice [***] hire for positions they know nothing about. Roger the electrician is an ace, let a guy like this run your electric department and you end up with less problems which will equal less go backs and warranty work goes to a minimum.

If they are able to survive they need to listen to guys like us that can help them.

I hope they are able to restructure and if they need help in the tile department I will be there for them because they have treated me pretty good but if they want want to hire some yahoo that has been doing tile for a few years and has no resume to back up his expertise then I would rather burn chickens for a living.

They have no idea what I could have done for them when it comes to tile and IMHO there was never anyone who ever walked into that office be it man, woman, construction manager, that can or could challenge my expertise in the ceramic tile business. When they wanted to make the move to Charlotte I told them I could get them some of the best tiles setters and also introduce them to the managers of all the top tile distributors in that area but my advise was never listened too and I was told to give the information to the 21 year old girl with the nice ass.

They did not care because they did not know.

They could have done so much better but they had way to many chiefs and not enough Indians and I don't know to many companies that do construction that can manage the jobs from a chair without some kind of field supervision. And that again is qualified field supervision. Don't send a carpenter out to manage the electrician the plumber or the tile guy.
I hope they can get out of this mess and if I can help them in any way I want them to know they can call me But if they want to hire some useless clown to run the jobs then I will start piling up the chickens.

To those who know me and my work I was with team 919 and my name is Tom H.

    Thanks for allowing the rant.

I feel so sorry for you. I have 3 kids and was out of a kitchen for over 2 1/2 months. I finally got my kitchen back in working order 2 1/2 weeks ago.  It is still not complete but at least I have water.  I called Armstrong Cabinets and they would not give me any information. They said they are having a meeting tomorrow and will let me know something by Monday.  Mary at KC today told me she has no idea what is going on but they will finish the job, yeah right!  I am filing a complaint with the attorney general and have been in contact with 5 on your side.  Rob and his wife need to be stopped. I have read several postings from different sites saying he is being investigated by the FBI. Let's hope so!!

I'll tell you whats so bad about this company, every single day i went to work to install kitchens i was frustrated about the company, either the electrician never showed when he was supposed to,the plumber wouldn't show either.I'd call Kitchen Carolina to ask them why and all i got were voice mails of the project managers who were on the job.i drove to jobs 75 miles one way and had to leave 3 days in a row because the electrician
never came.when i did finally get the project manager it was someone else because the original PM was fired or quit..At one point they owed me over 4 thousand dollars for work i had done, and thank god they paid me 2 weeks ago before this BS happened. They still owe me 1,700.00 dollars right now for work i've done and i'll never see it.Every customer i dealt with were frustrated as hell because they were promised stuff and it never got delivered.the very first check they owed me they told me for 2 weeks it was mailed and made excuse after excuse about why it wasn't mailed that day.I can't believe all the hard working contractors like myself that are getting screwed by this company.I am also going to Graham small claims court and putting a claim in against them.Who i really feel sorry for are the customers who are left with half done kitchens with there floors  half ripped up. Rob SELFORS is meeting in charlotte right now with armstrong kitchens in a conference room.i spoke to armstrong kitchens yesterday and was told that.

they are a company that at first they pay you for a few jobs and then they make up lies so they dont pay you.i spoke to the owner and they are satisfied but it is kithchen carolina that is the problem.all subs that didnt get paid should go out there a file a lien against the home owner that is only fair.the home owner has to look out who they hire as subs and of course it back fires on them the home owner.

Dear TS, Hell you sound like the owner of this horriable company. Have you worked for them? If so doing what? You just make the stuipedest comments. I did one job for them. I am no jack-leg tile man. I have been in two magizanes for my work, and also worked for some of the most well known custom home builders in eastern North Carolina. Never in 15 years of the business have I seen a more unorganized job. Not to mention a homeowner in a wheelchair that had been told her kicthen at the most would take 3 week. I was sent there to work the 4th month and 2nd week after the project was started. You would be better off getting your kicthen done by a local contractor. It might cost more but in the long run you will save money. This company will stress you out and they will cause you to have a heart-attack, and those, with hospital stay are very expensive. TA research, investigate, ferify, that way you sound smart not stuiped

I too have been srewed over by this company, but why would you put liens on the customers homes??? They have nothing to do with the crap with kitchen carolina, the home owners are in the same boat that we are in, so why hold this against the home owners, dont understand that, why not just file a small claims against KC

ok.. I was told that he hired back some of his help. He brought back the "team leaders" which is a joke in its self! And then they brought back who they wanted to. They made phone calls to the empl that they just let go.. Some of them went back and some didnt. I think they are all crazy for falling for Robs S***! If it was me, once I get bit I dont go back!! I guess... it didnt hurt enought when he let them go the first time.
