- Rick replies to Rosie| 1 replyIt's legitimate. Call the number on the back of your card, in had 8 purchases that were in question. New cards on the way.
- Why it is replies to Rickso legitimate that you had to look up the number just to be sure?
- KathyIt was my bank checking to make sure I was using debit card and was not fraudulent being used
- Caller: Bank
- ronI just received a call from this number. The man wanted to know if I just made a purchase to and for X amount of dollars. He ask me to confirm the buy which was correct. I think it was the CC company making sure I wasn't being ripped off.
- MICHELE| 2 repliesThis was a call from the transaction review center. I work at a credit union, they call and check if the transaction is yours. I called the 800 number they verified the number the message was left at and my name. They then asked about the previous 5 transactions, my most recent transaction was larger than normal which is why they call. If you do not verify there is a strong possibility your transaction will be denied. THEY DO NOT ASK FOR YOUR CARD NUMBER! This is a legit call and not a scam.

- Actually.. replies to MICHELE...while the call was legitimate for you, other people have reported receiving calls where they are asked their card number, PIN, etc. Better to be safe than sorry and call the number on the back of your card!
- Book0ne| 1 replyGot 2 calls from this #...same as everyone else it is a robot call garbled.really concerning if this is my bank that they would have such an unprofessional manner of contacting people
Really seems Scammy- Caller: Unable to return call
- Call type: Prank
- Chickee replies to Elspeth| 1 replyBanks put a limit of daily spending on most debit cards. When a purchase is attempted at a location that is unusual for the customer or for an amount exceeding the daily limit, the debit card issuer (not the bank) calls from a robot monitoring system to alert you to the unusual activity. Then you simply call your bank branch and authorize them to extend your debit limit for a one time transaction. I make a number of larger purchases that exceed the daily limit and without a business debit, I often have to have the bank authorize a daily limit extension.
- You obviously.. replies to Chickee....don't understand that scammers routinely spoof legitimate numbers all the time...
- They almost got me...Do Not Answer. They are trying to verfiy if they have the correct debit card information for you so they can use your card. Call your bank and cancel your debit card because if they are calling, they already have access. Better safe than sorry.
- NY07I received 2 calls from this number but got only static. I tried calling back but an automated message says this number is not in service. After reading reviews on here about legit fraud activity, I called my bank directly to confirm recent charges and to check if they have a record of the bank trying to contact me. The rep confirm no transactions have been flagged and there is no note from any department trying to reach out to me. I also checked recent activity online for my bank account and two credit cards and all charges are legit. I'll be monitoring my account activity more frequently than usual for the next couple of months just to be safe. But so far all is well. So if the call from 402-609-5706 is a fraud alert, they either have the wrong number or it's a scam because my accounts are fine.
- QueReceived two calls in two days from 402-609-5706 claiming to be my bank. It was a robo voice. Claimed to be some hokey thing called "Grand Action" department....FIRST CLUE!! Second clue: my Discover Debit card had unusual activity....I do NOT have a discover credit card. I called my bank directly to validate there was no issues with my accounts. People: do NOT call back phone numbers left by robo calls. You certainly have your back contact info. I would recommend you the call to a number you are certain of, not a strange number left by a robo voice. The posts up above that claim this to be a legitimate number are obviously false.
- Caller: Grand Action Department
- Que replies to Book0neCall your bank. I bet it is NOT your bank. This number is a scam!!
- Que replies to MICHELEThis is a total scam!
- Que replies to GrumbleYou are 100% correct! This call is a scam. I agree, call your bank directly. You know the number of your banking institution. Do NOT call a strange number back left by a robo voice!
- MommintsThought to share my recent experience and give a little more information. Like others, I received two robo calls from 402-609-5706, and it was the same MO - first v/m was cut off, second was from the "Review Transaction Dept" regarding some recent charges on my account. My debit/VISA card is connected to my checking account, and I use that for 99% of all my transactions. After reading the informative comments here, and plus I've been in the financial industry for 30+ years so I know some of the tricks spammers use thanks to prior training, I called my CU, not the number given on the robo call. And this morning my CU confirmed an overseas attempt for a purchase of $495 on a site called Anyway Anyday that was denied. I've never heard of this site, and my CU shut down my card and has reissued a new one.
I can't explain why people would get a call for a card that they don't own, and yes that is a major red flag. But agreeing with others again - if you get this robo call, call your bank, call the number on the back of your card, and monitor your bank accounts for any unusual activity. I hope this information helped.- Caller: CEFCU
- CincinnatiDefinitely spam. Number has called multiple times over the past few business days. I had been sending the calls directly to voicemail based on the reviews here. Never received a voicemail. I finally decided to answer the call today. It was a few seconds of loud static before the call disconnected.
- CDLiterally called while I was on the phone with my bank regarding card being declined. Was to confirm I was attempting the charge they were declining.

- NorahMissed a call from this number at 10:23 am. Called back at 10:45. Number no longer in service message. If you all really think this number is your bank, why are there now several posts saying this number can't be called back? This is someone spoofing a number. It's so easy to do. I've done it before for harmless pranks on my friends years ago, so I imagine now it's even easier. Do not tell them anything, and do not listen to the people on here claiming it's legitimate.

- bbaicadI got two recorded calls from 402-609-5706, both of them speaking so fast I could barely understand what they were saying. Said to call an 800 number about recent charges on my Master Card/debit card. They had my name and the name of my bank. Called the 800 number and it is a small business in Manchester, NH. They knew nothing about the call, but said they had received calls from other people with the same story. My bank says nothing is wrong with my checking account or debit/credit card. Tried calling back the 402 number and got an AT&T recording saying my call was not permitted. I believe this to be a phishing call, but it's a really stupid one. Who leaves a call you can barely understand, from a number in Omaha, NE you can't call back, and leaving number that goes to a company in NH that doesn't know anything about all of this. My bank has called me a few times in ten years about suspicious charges, but the caller ID always indicates my bank. Same with Chase credit cards. I've also signed up to have them text me as well as call me. The 402 number is pure scam.
