This Indian guy called and said he was Microsoft. He told me I had a problem with my PC. I told him that I don’t use a PC, I use a macbook. He then persisted that I had a problem with my macbook and tried getting me to open up a url on Firefox. I told him I don’t use Firefox, I use Safari. Then he told me to open the url on Safari. So I played along. I told him I was opening the url, but I was really looking up the number on my google search bar. I came to this website, which confirmed that this was a SCAM call. I continued to play along. He asked me to describe what I see. I said “LIFE in milk”. Of course, it was early in the morning and I was eating my favorite cereal. He got angry and told me to describe what I see on my screen. I said “a GEICO ad at 800notes.com the directory of unknown callers.” He hanged up. It’s so fun to mess with scammers.

I am having a problem with my computer and in trying to locate technical support online I came across a site that looked like it was connected to Windows.  I left my number for someone to call me because I am one of those people that only knows how to use e-mail and surf the net.  The call came at 4:30am pacific time.  Voice mail got the call and it was a lot of static and someone saying hello.
I'm glad I checked the number and got this information from all of you.  Now I know what to do if he calls back.

Got a call from this number at 10:10 pm.  I am a Realtor, so my # is very public.  I NEVER answer calls with area codes outside my service area unless I check first.  Glad I did. Time to block!

I got a call from an indian guy to day. He told me my machine had a hacking tool installed called "Citadel Reveton" and that he was from IC3.gov. LOLOLOLOLOL. He told me to execute the command “assoc” in cmd and then told me my Consumer License ID is 888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FD7D062. He then told me to open eventvwr in the run window and look in custom views. He then proceeded to ask me how many errors and I told him alot. lol He then point me to this website "http://service2pc.weebly.com" and told me to install a remote client "http://www.ammyy.com/AA_v3.exe". After that I told him that I could'nt let a stranger connect to my pc and steal my bank info etc... lol Then he hanged up.

I did some online research and found out it was a load of BS.

IC3 is the FBI's cyber crime division..  So, now the little scammers are faking being Federal Officers to try to get the scam convincing.  ROFL Epic failure of Micro scammers!  I think the FBI has better things to do then pretend they can track such stuff and call people to scam or extort money.

No one can tell whats going on with someone else's computer this way.. The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

Called me yesterday, i missed the call. Called again today, i answered it. Something about mastercard preferred customer promotion. Stated i had won 250 in visa giftcards as well as 4 yr subscription to numerous magazines.i played along to see what they wanted. They already had my address and name. Then proceeded to tell me for 3.84 a month i would receive all of this. Asked for my card number and i lied and said i didnt have the card with me at the moment, stated they could call me back at a later time. Told them tomorrow would be fine. I now know not to answer. I dont give out my information over the phone. So everyone beware, they are asking for bank information....
