402-935-7733 was listed on my amex card and said MARK PAYPAL.  I don't use my corp card for anything except corp travel, so how besides hacking into amex or on wi-fi in the airport did they get my card number?

It may be paypal, but they called me at 4:14 AM and didn't even leave a message.  Just left about 15 seconds of silence on my voicemail.  # is based out of Omaha, NE

I got four fraudulent charges of $50, $75, $75 and $78.40 from Paypal *aeriagames and Paypal THS Interna with the 4029357733 number.  However, they used another credit card number that I have and not the one that I have on my paypal account.  Sounds confusing

I got 3 fraudulent charges from Paypal *AeriaGames 402935773, and 1 charge from Paypal *THS Interna

The number is legit - it is PayPal.

Scammers can input any number they want on their caller ID's - that doesn't mean at all that is the actual phone number.

Call yourself to paypal to find out if it is a real number, dont just trust the says on forum. What you are reading is also scammer is reading/posting it as well.
PS. I just got a call from them few minutes ago too. He did greet with my full name and he was saying something abt the new IRS rules and want to verify the SSN. I told him if i can do online instead, and he said "yes, just simply go to profile" then my line was cut off.  So real or not. We gotta find out. But at least i did not say anything personal the phone. So in general, never say anything personal info. over the phone. It is better to call them to verify instead of called by them, that is my thought. Take care!

Please note.  If you see a transaction in your bank web site similar to the following, (and in Googling the phone number you wound up here):

  Miscellaneous Transaction PAYPAL *XYZ INC 402-935-7733 CA

This means that a payment you made (perhaps on a debit card) was processed by the merchant, XYZ INC, through Paypal.  The phone number provided is Paypal's, not the merchant's.  You should be able to determine what you bought by Googling the merchant name and not the phone number.  Yes, some charges may be fraudulent, but it's a "merchant" that initiated the charge, not Paypal.  

I had this issue and could not for the life of me figure out what the charge was from.  I finally determined it was something my wife bought, legitimately, with our debit card.

Rec'd a bogus $500.00 charge on our business account supposedly from PayPal which was fraudulent. Someone apparently has tapped into a PayPal site. Everyone should review their monthly credit card statement for this type of fraudulent activity.

I received a call from this number today.  It is PayPal and they wanted me to update my account with my social security # for the new IRS reporting rules.  I didn't give them any information over the phone, and they said I can update my account online.  

It is legit.

YES this is PAYPAL....this is a number the use to call their account holders for their automated verification process.

I was fraudulently charged $32.80 on my debit card.  The information recorded by my bank showed "EBAYGIVINGW" "DCUSA" and "402-935-7733".  My credit card company reversed the charge and returned the money to my account.

This is definitely a SCAM. The number is SPOOFED and the posters claiming here it's not a scam are IMPOSTERS.

This is a legitimate paypal customer service number.

Your card may have been fraudulently charged but the number is legitimate paypal phone number.

I just made a big purchase yesterday. It is PAYPAL calling to confirm the amount with me.Which is a nice. Paypal uses many numbers...go to your account and contact them.They will give you a pin number then a phone number. There are many differnt phone numbers they use do to volume of ingoing and outgoing calls. its ok.

I received a call from this number, and didn't answer because I screen all my calls. They didn't leave a message, so I decided to call back.

The prompt was directly from paypal, and asked for all of the same information that paypal usually does - however still being slightly paranoid, I looked at my bank's account statements, and seen that this number was being used by the last paypal transaction I did.

I called the company directly, and verified my purchase, then called paypal's direct number (402.935.2050) found on their website, and asked them to verify the validity of the 402.935.7733. The gentleman I spoke with verified that this is an official number, and it comes from their "credit card" department.

After looking through my history with paypal, every time I use a credit or debit card purchase, it gives me this telephone number. If I utilize a direct withdraw from my bank, it does not use this telephone number.

I'm confident it's not a scam after a little bit of investigation.

I received a call from this number at 9 at night.Looked up PayPal's actual call number and it is 402-935-2050,not 402-935-7733.I didn't answer because I didn't know the number,but this is not actually PayPal.

This is  a scam number. The number may be good but its being used to make illegal credit card purchases.
