- whoeverThis is a call girl service:) they are based out of ca, it is a way to verfy the card! I found out for sure when it said candancesale.

- KevinThis is NOT Paypal.
What happens is they will spoof the real paypal number (402 935 7733 is a 'real' number, but caller id isn't a determination of exactly what number is calilng you) and connect you to the real paypal. Then they will listen in on the conversation for information that identifies you, and use that to obtain access to your accounts in the future and charge you. Clever, but see through. - Chrisyes........this is paypal.................................
line is registered in OMAHA , NEBRASKA
HOWEVER............this is a ' generic" phone number....................you will be bounced around the globe to the 1st available " call center" that can handle the call......

I entered in the code on the charge and my card was confirmed on PayPals official site.
So yes, it IS Paypal.- Caller: PayPal
- monikathey called me yesterday and today. I didnt answer either time. Yesterday the voicemail said "hi this is Katie from paypal, we will be emailing you", same thing today except the girls name was Pamela.
After reading a ton on how after getting this call people were being charged unwarranted amounts on their credit cards, I called paypal, they said they didnt know anything about the phone number. But then i called both my credit card companies and requested new cards, just to be safe. Also changed my paypal password.
I wont be using it online for anything other than ebay now.- Caller: 1-402-935-7733
- JaneI didn't receive a call from this number but there was a fraudlent charge with this number on my credit card. "PAYPAL HELEN M COX" I understand this is a scam and they are using the name of PayPal. I now have to cancel the card I have used for 15 years, so inconvenient. Damn these people!

I am now relaxed in knowing that I did authorize PayPal for this amount to this account...
Check your e-mails to see what you have bought and you may then be able to relax a bit. See how much these posts differ? Maybe you are like me and really can't recall what it is about then you will have panic-ed for nothing.- Caller: On my credit card statement
- Waihwuh? replies to DawnDawn is right, I was on the phone today with Paypal and because I signed up for a debit card, they called me to verify if I indeed am who I am. Although I never picked up the phone when they called, I did call back and was asked for my four digits as well, I just hung up the phone, opened internet explorer, looked in my favorites and found this handy page here, and after reading the first few complaints I decided to call Paypal. Thats when I hung up and quickly logged into Paypal and used a "web pin" to call Paypal, they did verify that they called for the purpose of identifiying me as the applicant, AND THIS THEY HAD ON THEIR NOTES ALREADY, so stop being so damn paranoid people. Also it would be a good idea if you all stop watching X-Files for a while.
- RDWYes, this is a PayPal number, but the [***] did not leave any kind of a notification or message. Typical of PayPal. Always protecting your account, but screwing it up at the same time. I have more security measures in place for PayPal than I do for my own banking accounts.
- Jack SpratJust got two bogus charges on my American Express Card, listing this number. Beware: Someone is using PayPal to charge bogus charges on your credit cards.
- Derp PeopleYES, this is a valid PayPal number, NO the charge to your card with this number is not valid. Someone fraudulently uses your card, VIA PayPal, to make a random purchase. Hence, they use PayPal as an intermediary for fraud.
You need to call this number to report the fraud to PayPal, so they can address the matter, as well as call your credit card company to dispute the charge. - Michelleahh they just charged $50 to my account with this phone number and it said Perfectwrld.
- shelbyWhen you buy something from a website that uses paypal for credit card processing it shows up Paypal*COMPANY NAME 4029357733 the number is for paypal. If you have a charge like that on your credit card it's because someone used your card illicitly. You do NOT need a paypal account to incur a charge like that, just a credit card.
If an online company uses Paypal for collecting their money, this is how it will come up. Usually I get these charges when i use bigcartel. So, if you bought something online, that might be how it was processed, not fraud. - CddiazI did also google 402-935-7733 and came to these postings. I also logged into PayPal and selected the Contact us page. A phone call was to be made to PayPal and there was a Web Pin number assigned before I spoke to a PayPal represenative. Paypal rep verified the 402-935-7733 number was a call from PayPal because my account may have been compromised. My acct was reset but the bogas charge from a European company is being checked into. Paypal now has a special KEY that also insures purchases. Aside from UN, PW and security questions, this assigned key costs (with a one time fee of $5.00) and is a necessary number that needs to be input into Paypal transactions and Ebay transactions prior to the release of your funds from your PayPal account. Just another way to protect your account. I highly recommend logging in to PayPal and select the contact us tab and CALL them via their toll free phone number. Great customer support. Cdd
- Di in AZ| 1 replyI had a $1 debit, then a $1 reversal on my bank statement: both charges listed this phone number in the details. I did an online transaction today that asked if I wanted to use my PayPal account, which I did not. I don't know if that's what the $1 charge is all about or not (I don't see how it could be since I didn't sign in to PayPal). Either way, I PLAN TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON MY BANK STATEMENT FOR ANY FUNNY BUSINESS!!

- Vince replies to THE OC| 1 replyI agree with Diana,
I own a web business that processes thousands of purchases a month though PayPal. The "long form" of transaction description that appears on lots of bank statements has this true PayPal number in it. something like PayPal *BizNameHere 402-935-7733 - Vince replies to fed upTrust PayPal. if in doubt, get their phone number for your operator or from paypal.com
- Jo| 1 replyJust got a phone call by this number after initiating a Paypal transaction. On a Sunday? I don't live in the US. Wanted to do a "security check". Very suspicious. I hung up the phone and closed my paypal account.
