- Lucythis number just call'd me and I did not answer it but than I really don't want anyone calling me that I am not associated with
- WillJust block them with Mr.Number blocker. I get hundreds of wasted minutes from calls every year. So I put blockers on all my cell phones. Tonight, 02-24-2015 They called me and Blocker blocked them. No more annoyance.
- Caller: Gallop poles
- Nightenrose replies to TazzHey genius, there are several companies that do this. For example, some companies such as Enterprise car rental (they use Maritz Research) use customer service follow up calls to get an idea of where their best locations are, worst locations, who deserves a promotion and who deserves to be fired.
- Nightenrose replies to Hoang| 1 replyThese call centers are outbound only calling. Meaning they only make calls and cannot receive them. Leaving you a voicemail is pointless.
- Nightenrose replies to AnitaBecause Wells Fargo isn't the only company that can hire them. You likely did business elsewhere and they would like to know about your experience.
- Nightenrose replies to Just SayingBecause they are usually outbound only call centers. You can't make incoming calls to them because their resources and system are set up to make calls. Leaving you a voicemail would be pointless.
- Nightenrose replies to DebThis is a method for randomizing their sample.
- Nightenrose replies to angeleyesYou may have done business with another company that hired them.
- LCUnwanted repeated calls
- mMy number is on the do not call list. the call was from Omaha, Nebraska asking to participate in the Gallup poll survey. I said no and she kept persisting. How do I get my number removed from this annoying company's list. Is the to not call list not enough?
- Caller: gallup poll
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Scammed-or-not??? replies to AnonymousI just got a call from 402-952-4444: someone who breathlessly told me his name, and that he was with Gallup, and was calling on behalf of a client -- a large bank with which I do business.
But he spoke his name and affiliation with Gallup so quickly that I barely could make out his words, and that piqued my suspicion. So I asked how I could know that he was not just some scammer, and he gave me a 1-888 number to call (Gallup Client Services Satisfaction), as well as his "desk number".
So I called the 1-888 number, and told them I wished to verify a poll call, and gave the representative the "desk number" I had been given. The name that the rep then associated with that desk number was not the same as the name the pollster had given me.
So something is screwy: even if it wasn't a false call (Gallup apparently does not even have sufficient accuracy within its own employee identification system to assure verification.
And I’m left with no way whatsoever of knowing if the first call from 402-952-4444 was legit or a scam. - DownSizeGovernmentCutTaxes!| 8 repliesHave you noticed that the complaints about this SAME NUMBER on this site go back EIGHT YEARS?
There are *** 91 pages *** !!! of complaints and uncountable number of them say they have reported this number to the government and/or they are on the government's so-called DO NOT CALL list... what a joke that is!
Yet the calls keep coming!
How many billions of dollars are US taxpayers paying for this useless do not call list, and the bureaucrats who run it?
How many billions more are taxpayers paying for the useless government agencies responsible for cracking down on this activity who do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to stop it and allow it to go on for EIGHT YEARS?
With their trillion dollar budgets they STILL can't seem to find out where the problem is.
I have NO budget at all and I can still figure out that all I need to do is take a look at this Web site and I can find out 1,000 offending numbers in one day. If I had enforcement powers like these bureaucrats do, I could cut them all off by the end of the day.
You really expect the same government that brings you Obamacare to help you? It's a joke! We need a housecleaning in government. I'll bet the size of the government (and the taxes to pay for it) could be cut in half and you would never even notice the difference. It's a bloated nightmare of bureaucratic waste, corruption and fraud. - Bobby| 1 replyReceived call from 402-952-4444 @ 10:21 AM on a Saturday, Caller ID displayed GALLUP ORGANIZA but I doubt it was really from them because phone only rang twice and they hung up when I answered. Besides it was on a weekend and I doubt they work weekends. I believe it is a spoofed number as the number really is the Gallup Polling Organization, however why would they hang up if they were polling you? Just to find out how many rings before you answer the phone poll??? I blocked the number just in case, as I don't want to answer polls either.
- Caller: GALLUP ORGANIZA
- Call type: Survey
- WolfmanJack replies to DownSizeGovernmentCutTaxes!| 6 repliesFirst there is absolutely no reason to use offensive language. It doesn't make you more credible, it makes you less. Now it seems these calls are surveys, which are not covered under the DNC and TSR. If you had read and comprehended that fact on the DNC sign up sheet, you would have not been posting what you said here. Now the DNC is self supporting so that no "billions of dollars" are being used to support it. Legitimate companies (and the key word there is legitimate) pay $16,000 a year for access to it so that they can comply with the relevant laws. The FTC has initiated and successfully won many cases against telemarketers that violate the statutes. The whole national debt might be in the trillions, but no single agency gets that much.
We just had a housecleaning in Washington in case you happened to miss the news since last November's election.
So to recap, political calls, surveys, debt collectors, and informative messages are NOT covered by the DNC. Perhaps you should spend your time more wisely trying to correct that instead of ranting nonsense here. - DownSizeGovernmentCutTaxes! replies to WolfmanJack| 4 replies"First there is absolutely no reason to use offensive language."
Offensive language? What offensive language? Quote what you are referring to please.
YOU may have found what I said offensive because you don't like how it so effectively makes the case for something you don't want to be heard. But there isn't one word of "offensive language" in the entire post. - WolfmanJack replies to DownSizeGovernmentCutTaxes!| 3 repliesSo tell me what words the *** stand for?
- Hankster replies to Anonymous| 2 repliesSure, we all realize it is your job. However, unless a person SIGNS UP TO BE CALLED then that person should not have to deal with unwanted calls!!!! Also, why is it "survey" companies are calling me when I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST? If I wanted to me called I would AUTHORIZE IT!
- SteveI've received two, both on Monday evenings between seven and eight. I did not pick up either time, and no message was left.
