Hi,  for my education, what is wrong with capital letters?



And I returned the call and the message was very polite, more so than some of the  responses I have read.

It is considered rude to use all caps on the internet (Same thing as yelling at someone)

I think it's funny that I got a call from Gallup.  It's never fun to know that someone is going to call your number that you pay for using. But I'm also in business and have been calling on Gallup for the last month to solicit their business.  Isn't that poetic? :-)  So now they are calling my personal cell number. As long as it is not harassment, we all have the right to be in business. I choose to be polite and/or ignore the calls. Everyone should know that in today's market, nothing is sacred.  Google yourself sometime and find out what anyone else can find out about you. But if you show up at my door, think again. :-)

they should not be calling your home number everyday. There is someone within their company who is trying to hit a dial quota and I'm sure they will get caught for over-dialing the same number. Having worked in business marketing, I've seen people come and go that way. But I would be just as annoyed as you if someone called my personal number everyday. You have the right to complain. That person will not last at Gallup for very long. They are a legitimate research company that provides all kinds of information for legitimate purposes. I just got a call from them myself, and I think it's funny because I have been calling on their business number for the last month.  Have a blessed day!

Had a call from this number several times in the past but happen to answer it last night since didn't have glasses on HA.  Claimed to be from our banking institution and asked if I was the one that went to the bank a couple days prior.  Didn't give an answer and hung up.  Called again today, didn't answer and will not answer again.  Glad I came into this site and read the comments.  I am on the no-call list and they shouldn't be allowed to do these things.

I got the call and as seers the poll which lasted 10 minutes and he asked A LOT of questions but I just lied to about all of them and will never pick up to the number ever again

I don't give a bleep if they are a legitimate business.  I don't give a bleep if the surveys are short.  I'm sick of them calling me, and I hate everyone of their miserable employees.  I want them to stop calling me PERIOD.  They certainly don't have any SYMPATHY for me if they keep calling me.  They make me SICK.  They make me MAD.

If you're on the** gov do not call list** Unfortunately you still have to answer this caller, you must then advise them you've registered with the **Gov do not call** and tell them to take your name off their call center listing. You must also log on the **gov do not call** website and leave a report to date, time you gave  the nusiance caller a warning not to phone me!! This has worked for me so remember you must register on the website...

Im angry, they some how have gotten my cell phone no. I know its and election yr. and I believe Ive read somewhere that they're allowed to continually call you during a election!!

Did this work? Im also registered on the gov do not call list, though I was lead to believe you had to tell the caller to take you off their call center listing...

How fast did she speak? A native Texan's speech _tends_ to proceed at a noticeably slower pace than most other US speech patterns. Non-native telemarketers _tend_ to  speak noticeably faster in any language. Also ask them to restate a measurement they've already given to you, in metric this time. The metric system has been practically illegalized in Texas. If they shoot back a correct answer without hesitation, they are either not in Texas OR they should apply for a better job than calling you.

I've gotten 5 calls from this number in 2 days. I don't know anyone in Nebraska, I answered after the 4th call and they hung up. 10 mins later they called back. If they really need to get ahold me they can leave a message.

What possible since does it make to call those who do NOT want to be called? Just because you are exempt the responsible thing to do is to NOT call those who do NOT want your call! It is stupid to call those who don't want it.
Police Benevolent called for some charity I asked why? EXEMPT! So I google them got a list of board members and called EACH one and asked that very question, they were NOT happy!

True, although there might be other sources for phone numbers as well.  Take a close look at your credit card statements.  There is probably something in fine print that indicates that your information is being shared.  Some of my statements have it printed on the statement.  Others send privacy information inserts with my bills that spell this out.  They also tell you - in very small, infinitesimal print - that you might be able to opt out of some of that sharing.  Check with your credit card holders.

I find it interesting that there are people out there who think blowing an airhorn in someone's ear will keep the REDIALER from calling you back.
I used to work in telemarketing, and I hated my job. However, it paid my bills, and as a single mother at the time, income was income. I also had another FULL TIME job that I worked at besides that one.

That being said, I have Meniere's Disease, which is an inner ear disorder. How nice of you who hate to be bothered by people trying to pay for pampers to blow your whistle in our ear. I had the pleasure on many occasions to get my hearing destroyed even further by lovely people such as yourselves.
It did not make the system disregard your phone number for future calls. It did however, make me cry a lot of tears and panic before every freaking call picked up because of the fear that one more a**hole was potentially going to answer their phone.

For those saying that telemarketing isn't a REAL job? I beg to differ. I currently live in a one income household through no fault of my own, and even though I no longer telemarket, money is money. Or would you prefer that all those telemarketers out there should live off your tax dollars (ie. welfare?) rather than clock in for eight hours every day to their "not real" jobs?

People still get in my face (even though I haven't telemarketed in YEARS) with all their smart alec remarks that they think will stop people from calling. There are very few things that legitimately work. Blowing your whistle? Nope. Yelling at me for being a stupid hoe with a fake job? Nope.

Look: I hate being called repeatedly just as much as the next person. That's why I am here. I came to this forum to look up this number just like all of you. So let me tell you some things that actually work that are not mean spirited and won't destroy the spirit of some poor soul who's just trying to keep from living in a cardboard box down the street from you.

#1. Do Not Call Registry. Google it. Use it. Read the TOS. Some companies and charitable organizations do not need to adhere to these rules. Know who they are before you freak out with your airhorn.

#2. When a company does get through, simply cut them off and request to be put on their do not call list. They have to enter that option if you specifically say those words. *Keep in mind that your number is on a HUGE database, and it has to be shuffled out of many registries. While this happens, please inform each caller that you have requested removal and they *should* quickly exit the call. This process takes about 4-6 weeks, but it is generally effective.*

#3. If you just can't wait the 6 weeks or are being harassed legitimately, use this exact phrase, "Take me off your call list or I am going to sue." I had to use this phrase last sunday with a company that really was calling me three times a day every day, and was simply ignoring my previous polite requests. I was still polite when I said it though. It's not the caller's fault that the previous caller was a dolt and didn't enter my request the first time. BTW, they haven't called me back since.

#4. Read the fine print people. If you sign up for ANYTHING, there's usually some really, really fine print about being able to distribute your info if you don't opt out. This is the single biggest thing you can do to keep from getting called. I cannot tell you how many people will start complaining about all the sudden phone calls they have been getting, and then I ask if they have filled out ANY forms that included a phone number, and they sort of slink back and say "yeah......." There you go, that's how it got out. Check the little box to opt-out if it is offered, otherwise, DO NOT give out your number.
I NEVER use my phone number on any online forms. Ever. And for that exact reason. I very rarely get telemarketing calls.

Please people, be respectful of other people. Hurting others because you couldn't spare 30 seconds to make a simple request just shows heartlessness and immaturity. I remember one situation where I simply broke down and cried right there on the phone and told the lady "Thanks for that, I now have to make an emergency trip to the hospital on account of my ear disease." She felt so bad. She just thought I was some jerk trying to con her out of a penny. She didn't realize I was a real human trying to pay my bills. My ears hurt so bad. And I had to go back to that job the next day so I could pay for my new hospital bill. Stop. Think. Your simple kindness may be the one thing that changes someone's tears to a smile, and I'd rather claim someone's happiness than their tears.

just got a call from this number and they were asking me where i work and who i  talked with at the bank i go to and then when i called them back they said they were from a servey place and wouldn''t pick up the phone. SCAMER SCAMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They call asking for someone (Barbara) who doesn't live here but don't tell who they are.
