I received a call from 402-952-4444 at 6:28 pm, October 24, 2013.  I do not know this number at all.  It must be some type of harassing call.  Let those son of [***] go to hell!

these [***] did called me too 4029524444, all it does is burn peak minutes. Probably some big brother group watching all of us. Maybe they should making jobs for us instead !!!

Got the call. Fortunately I LOOK AT THE NUMBERS AND IF MY PHONE DOESN'T PULL THEM UP FROM MY DIRECTLY,

Which is something that a lot of respondents don't seem to have the willpower to do. I have to answer the phone at work, don't expect me to answer every anonymous caller who has a autodialer at their phone bank.

Put into the reject list and I'll never even know they called until I'm erasing them.

They said they were Gallup. I did not give them much info. Fairly innocuous questions

Gallop calling for US Bank

This is the Gallup Poll organization. In my case, they were contracted (to annoy me) by Wells-Fargo. I do have accts with W-F.  So, is this "legit"? Yes. Is it annoying corporate B.S. that is pretending to be "customer service?" Yes. This is what happens with large organizations. They do a lot of half-assed "measurement" that doesn't really measure anything. It's all "intramural organizational masturbation." While Gallup is the one making the phone calls, the org contracting with them (W-F in my case) is the REAL culprit. Will complaining to Gallup help? NOPE. They're just Phone Droids and are getting paid to do it. So, what do *I* do now? I have a quick call with a (junior) Officer-level type at Wells-Fargo: "any more dinner time [***] surveys and I'm GONE."

Just got a call from this number. Said they were the Gallup Poll, and asked poll questions.

I don't have an account with Wells Fargo and they are calling me.

Called around 6:45 PM, no message left.

They've called every 3-days for a couple of weeks, recently being: 6:02PM PST 11/04/13:  It's a gallup poll and I asked to be removed from their list.  We'll see if it lasts.

Having an unpublished number means nothing in today's world. But someone had your number before you. And if it's a non-profit company,  they can call you all day long.  And like the other guy said... Yoh are wasting your money.

This is not Wells Fargo, this is the Gallop Polls, the folks who ask you opinion on things. I also have accounts with Wells Fargo and those folks will drive you nuts!  Here's a few Wells Fargo numbers for you.

What I did notice is that this particular phone number has over 1700 comments since Feb 2007.  Some have only 2 or 3, most have less than 25 but this one has 1704 right now, that's a lot of comments!  They need to do a poll about why folks don't like to receive calls from them.

I am on the NO CALL list.

Depends on what the caller is doing as to whether they're exempt.  Politicians calling (so long as they're not using an autodialer/etc. to call a mobile or similar number) are.  800#'s ARE NOT unless they've got a prior business relationship with you.  People doing surveys are very much covered by the DNC registry.  Debt collectors are semi-exempt.  The law's kind of specific on things- if it's a cell phone, they're not supposed to call you under pretty much any circumstances.  People will tell you that the FCC has modified regulations, but that's not legit.  The law has to be amended to remove that bar.  Now what's defined as a "autodialer" is subject to FCC expansion (and has been...can't use PBXes or pretty much any modern cell phone to make collections or other business calls to a cell or similar.)

I'm going after an SOB debt collector over me being a third party in a collection situation wherein they called and called trying to embarass the person that owed them money.  You get ONE call to a third party that way, and ONLY when you can prove you legitimately didn't have accurate information on the debtor.  Each of THOSE calls they made...heh...they're worth $500 per call.  After the letter they sent in reply to my C&D I sent them...they're worth $1500 per call.  Worse...they're in violation of the Texas Debt Collections Act.  THAT ties it to the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act in a way where they don't want to be.  $1500 per call, 74 calls...$111,000 in statutory damages at this point.  Since it was knowing as an act...it's three times that.  Since it's willful, I get to ask for punitive and aggrivation damages.  Often the Court simply takes the actual damages and multiplies it by two which is the end result of taking all of the punitives, combining it with the actuals (statutories in this case...) and multiplying that result by three...

Which isn't the same thing here.  These calls are NEITHER of those...  (Moreover, they're not exempt from calling Cell Phones being in violation...)

I just got the call but didn't recognize so didn't pick up since it only showed the number, not name of caller. I have given Gallup permission to call me again, but interesting to me along lines of your comment, at that time, I had a different phone number with a different provider! Hmmmmm..... NSA at work? ;)
