Same scumbag strikes again! This time with an apartment supposedly in Toronto. What a loser. This is probably the 5th similar type response that I've gotten from similar apartment ads that sound too good to be true. He's using the name "Robert Pee" (!!) although he signed it Robert Perry, claiming to be a vet in the UK. The email address is robertpee27@yahoo.com.

This is what he emailed to me about the apartment, supposedly located at 751 Woodbine Avenue in Toronto. When I wrote back to ask how we could view the apt. if he was in the UK and his wife in the US, he said "i will like to tell you that there is no way you can view the interior because the keys and the document is with my wife  in Portland,Oregon and you driveby and view the exterior of the apartment for you to know where the apartment is located".  Right. I'm going to rent an apartment without seeing it.

My parents were suspicious from the get go so we sent her questions

Thank you for your kindness. I told my father about it. He has a few questions for me to ask you, as follows:

1. What is the apartment unit # ?There is no way i can give you the apartment number because the last time i give it out someone bug into our apartment and stole our property.

2. Can we take a look at the apartment, if only the outside, to include the apartment building and its facilities & amenities?Yes you can take a look at outisde the apartment if you feel like but there is no way you can take a look at inside the apartment because the keys and documents are with me here in Oregon.

3. Is there someone who can show us the outside of your apartment unit, such as the apartment association manager?There is nobody that show you outside the apartment and you and your father can just pass by the outside and take a look at it yourself.

4. Are water and electricity included in the rent? Yes water and electricity are include the rent.


Under whose names are they under, in case of outage?Yes are under my husband name and everything will come with the documents as soon as you make the payment.

5. Is the apartment association fee included in the rent? Under whose name is it under, in case they need to be contacted for any problems?We don't have any association fee included and if you have any problem please let me know and more so after you move in my husband will come down from UK to check on your every three months.

6. My parents would like to write and mail a security deposit check of $400 first, and upon receipt of the keys and the other documents, mail a check for the 2-month rent advance of $1200; instead of going to Western Union ( I don't even know where it is). I sincerely hope you can understand their concerns for my safety and well-being. They are very conservative and religious, just like you and your husband....Good but there is no way we can accept a check because we have been dealing with Western Union for the past two year and we don't have any probelm with it,but if you are scared to pay the $1,600 you can go and send the half of the payment which is $800 then when you get the keys and documemts you can now pay the balance and i will also attched you the lease agreement form to show that this is real so let me hear from you today.

I just got the exact same scam on Craig's List, to a T. He replied to me with the same email responses and his name is now Ryan Phillip. BE WARY!! He is STILL out there.

DO NOT be convinced by his act for a one bedroom apartment at 52 Spring St. in Soho, NYC.

It seems he is doing other apartments, as well.
