This same person tried this scam on me as well. Your testimony sounds eerily the same as mine.  When I googled him and found out that this is his Modus operendi with many people, I wrote him telling him to stop any further contact with me and that I know he's a scammer and now he's actually threatening me to send the money "or else".  I am reporting him as well.

hey there I have been e-mailing him back and forth for most likely the same place, and I am beginning to think that I have been scammed money. This is definitely not legit because he asked for more money afterwards and did not send keys. EVERYONE DO NOT PAY HIM ANYTHING!

I think that if everyone here gets together and contacts one police station then they would listen. I used white pages to get his known address and phone#, maybe they could catch this guy or not. I was stupid enough to send money because I was desperate for a place. Thank goodness I didn't give him any more information or money. I truly think, that collectively we could get the polices attention.

He is trying to rent a place this time in Santa Cruz and goes by the name Johan Svanholm, he is asking $800 for a 1br Studio and gave me the address of 307 Cayuga St, SC CA 95062. When asked for pictures he sent tiney jpg images that looked like standard appartment pictures from another site.
His e-mail that he wrote me from is korofo147@rocketmail.com

just to let you know this would totally be a scam, because no body in this world would call TAIWAN, Republic of China!!  I'm a 100% Taiwanese myself and I know what's the name of my country.

This morning I too received a call on my cell number from 403-262-6944.  I have a commercial piece of property in Olds, Alberta.  The only way this gentleman can get my cell number is to call my home number that is listed on the lease sign.  The call came in 6:22 am.  Fortunately, my phone was down stairs at that time and I did not hear it ring.  Annoying that there are such devious self-serving individuals.

I received an email the other day from a Bill Johnson in kyneton, Australia who wanted to purchase some product form our website for his store in Australia. I was suspicious as he wanted to purchase some soft-cover books as well as some e-books. Wanted to pay by credit card and have me include shipping of $300. I was then to send shipping costs to his shiping agent, a Johan K. Svanholm in Adelphia, Maryland by Western Union. IHe was going to give me $100 for compensation for doing so claiming his agent did not have Credit Card capabilities.
I was very suspicious when he said his agent would come to my house in Calgary, Alberta to pick up the products. I thought, "really, your agent is coming from Maryland to my house in Calgary to pick up a small box of books".
Thank goodness I went on the web to search out this Johan K Svanholm and found this message board.
I almost used his credit card number to go ahead with the transaction.

We also received emails from a Bill Johnson in Australia wanting us to charge his credit card, wire money to Johan K.Svanholm and then expect him to come pick up the product.  We are in a tiny out of the way town so my suspicions were up.

this number has been calling me for a year and some, and hangs up each time I answer.

Me and my girlfriend (we're in australia) didnt exactly recieve a call, though we did have this "guy" send us an email with applications and etc. all the same wording pretty much as everyone elses email, except a few things were different,

the email he's using now is hancambridge@hotmail.com claiming to be his own wife..??
either way he came VERY close to cheating us out of security payments untill we googled the name of the person(supposedly her husbands secretary) who she wanted us to send the money to,

no surprises her husbands secretarys name "Olajide abideen olaolu"
this is [***].and this time he said the family's are missionary's for god or something.

but yeah he's crap :)
he tried to cheat two 17 yr olds on their first place.
so i hope they catch him :)

I got a call from this number on my cell phone saying I won a trip to Mexico, then the phone went dead.  I called Bell and they directed me here.  Should I be worried he tapped into my cell phone??

I haven't had any phone calls from him, but found this page when I googled "I will solicit for your absolute maintenance of the apartment", a unique line in his garbled emails.

I'm in a suburb of Toronto, Canada, and was certain it was a scam after the first email. Hes going by the name Brad Strampher, and says "I work in a Research Associate as a Molecular Imaging Research/Neurology"

I've just finished sending him a rental application complete with fake names (Mike Oxlong) to string him along.

I've just been emailed by this guy after responding to a rental ad for a flat in London. It sounded too good to be true and he wanted me to part with £600 and wait for 48 hours before getting the keys. No way!! Having googled his name, Johan Svanholm is indeed a fraud.
