I connected a high security computer to a home network to temporarily send emails. Within 5 min I got an incomming call from 407-434-9999. I picked up. No response. I disconnected computer from network. Homeland Security phishing? Possibly. Connection to email server was blocked. I had to send email another way.

Dirtballs.  Got a call from them 30 minutes ago.

Credit card scam. They seem to keep changing their number, to something that ends with "9999." It's another one that I have added to my Callzap block list. I love Callzap.

5:31 PM ORLANDO 407-434-9999. This number has called before. I click it on and off in one movement so they can't leave a recording. Very annoying.

robo call for lowering the interest rates on my visa & master credit cards...push one....called this afternoon...when I asked what company...he said visa mastercard...don't you have some credit cards?  I again asked what company...he talked to someone in the back ground and I again asked what company...he hung up on me....

I am on the do not call list.  I have recieved MANY calls from this number.  Do not call me again.

I notice that several people mentioned they are on the national do-not-call list.  I did put myself on this list, because anyone can get a copy of this list just by asking for it.  That should be obvious; if the list wasn't freely available to everyone, it would be useless.  My point is that scammers can get this list just as easily as legitimate companies.  Then the scammers have a list of tens of thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands) of phone numbers that they know are current.  They don't care if you try to report them.  They will never give you any real information about themselves, so you have nobody to report.  And even if someone somehow tracked them down, it would take months or years for the government to do anything about it.  In the extremely unlikely event that they got shut down, they would just open up in a  couple of days under a new name with new phone numbers.  There's no way I'm putting my name on that list.

They left no name on my caller ID and no message on my answering machine. So this is either spam, telemarketer or low life or all 3. I wish they would shoot thees jerks.

Do an internet search under "card services FTC."  Every year these call centers pop up and it takes the FTC awhile to shut them down but they can not do it without complaints from recepients of the calls.  They ignore the Do Not Call List and all telemarketing rules; I suspect they are shady.  Go to FTC.gov and report them.  While on the website, make sure your number is on the Federal Do Not Call List.  It does stop LEGITIMATE telemarketers from calling (but there are loop holes with that too).  Good Luck.

That "annoying sound" is a machine that dials numbers sequentially and keep a record of which phone numbers are answered by a voice. After the machine generates a list of "good" numbers, then they give the list to telemarketers to call. You can fool some of those machines by doing the following: when you say "hello" and then hear the 'fax machine' type sound, press several keys on your phone and most of those machines will not record your number as a "good phone number" to telemarket.

This number called our phone this afternoon continually for nearly 20 minutes. Everytime the phone would send it to voice mail it would disconnect and immediately redial our number. Finally after about 20 minutes it left PART of a message (recorded) on our phone about "lowering interest rates" but no return number or name of company. We don't have any interest accounts so it is obviously some type of telemarketing scam. Reported to FTC.

Sounds like Strum Thummin is a plant? Why else would he be telling people NOT to join the DNC list? Why to keep numbers in circulation so scam companies can robocall without the FTC smacking them with fines. We're onto you "Strum" unless you're just a paranoid anti-government/consumer moron or something in which case there's no help for you.

Whenever I get a call like this I try to act really stupid and string them along with lots of false information to keep them talking as long as possible. The longer that they waste their time with me, the less time they have to bother someone else. They usually just hang up when they realize they are getting nowhere with me but I try to have some fun with them like a prank phone call in reverse. There is not really much else you can do to these scum so this is just my little way of f***ing with them.

What if you happened to be privy to some already reported stolen credit card and ID info and gave it to them when they ask for yours? That way when they attempt to use it a red flag should be raised drawing law enforcement attention to their operation.

Got a call, was some tellemarketer.. I hung up b4 they could finish the first word.. Then another scamming phone number called in wtf, now they are "tag-teaming" us?? The do not call lists don't help they just generate our numbers..

Three calls today. User ID said Florida. If it is some long-lost friend, they could leave a message. No message was left. There seems to be an uptick in these calls violating the DNC list.

They usually call once a week but today they called 12 times! I have a napping baby and I have had to just unplug my phone. Even though they keep calling from the same number everytime I call it a recording informs me it is not a working number. They usually have some recording about lowering my interest rate.

I received a call today from  an "Out Of Area" number 407-434-9999 and listened to the same old recording and was told that I could press #3 to be removed from the call list, as if they're not going to pester me again, yeah right!  I could also press #1 to talk to a live person to take advantage of their low interest rate....  I'm on the State and National Do Not Call List and I've made my number private.  The message even said that it would be the last call I get....  When I called the number back, I got a recording that it was not a working number, a man's voice.  How many times have you made a call and got that message from the telephone company and it was a man's voice?  Me?  Never.......I'm going to make a special trip to Walmart to buy an air horn and I don't think they will call me again after the next time that they do call.  I'm sending whoever answers the phone, when I press #1, to the doctor with a bursted eardrum.
