- MJ replies to BJ| 2 repliesAbout a month ago I tried to work out some arrangements with Chase. I had received a somewhat nice letter and called. After about 20 minutes on the phone I told them what I could afford to pay, they were going to knock my inteerest rate down to a certian level and I had to pay it off in five years. To help with the approval I had to come up with the current past due, which was basically two payments. I really did not have it but told the guy I would find a way if it meant I would ahve a set payment amount and reduced interest. Two weeks later I received a letter saying I did not qualify for the program and I had to make my regular payments. I am trying to pay my debt, even willing to pay the whole amount over time, but 29% interest is crazy. I will be dead before I can pay this off. How can my tax dollars save banks and the bansk will not help me. Olen, I agree with you to a degree. The banks took out bad debt but my tax dollars saved them.
- FED UPChase is the greediest company in the world. They are the reason this country's finances are in shambles by stealing from regular people like you and me. I hope they go bankrupt.
- Caller: CHASE
- Steve replies to Michelle| 1 replyYou might want to check...this applies to Collection Agencies asking to stop the calls. Chase (in their agreement with you) is allowed to do this...but within certain hours of the day.....
Sending this kind of letter if you owe them might upset them and even get more aggressive.
If you are looking to settle the debt (and don't use a debt settlement service please)....I consult (for a fee of course) and can show you over a six month period on how to settle this debt (usually get derogatories removed from the credit report and have marked Paid Settled and depends on your situation).
s_b408@yahoo.com - Steve replies to Chris| 3 repliesLoss of house or personal property?
Credit card debt is unsecured debt...
True the credit report will get dinged...but as long as no other screw ups...credit scores will go back up way before the 7 to 10 year mark as mentioned.
Yes they can setup a lawsuit in court...again I posted a message about some of the best ways to deal with this and how I might be of service. - Kitten replies to FeliciaSometimes I think I should just move to a different bank and stick them with all the debt I have with them, just to teach them a lesson in the big plan of life. But first I'm going to wrack up more debt. Screw them.
- KittenI agree!! And if these banks were so great why are they giving money to credit risks and then bitching about it. They are a bunch of men with big egos. I'll help you with that company, seriously.

I will email you back and someone else can destroy society! - annoyed replies to Felicia| 2 repliesOMG!! Chase is so annoying!!! The call relentlessly throughout the day and when I do answer their calls, no one is even on the other end! The hang up! Well, they definitely aren't going to get money from me this way. It just makes me completely annoyed.
- annyedThey call REPEATEDLY throughout the day and when I answer their calls no one is on the other end of the phone. They don't leave messages, but just call ALL THE TIME.

- dorobThis number has been calling me 4 times today, every other hour. No name, no message, no voice mail. Nothing.
I do not answer numbers I don't recognize. - Joel T.Constant phone calls, no message left. If they work for Chase, I have already talked to them directly.
- Bill D. replies to Felicia| 1 replyHow did I even get my name on this list? I have excellent credit! Is this only for people who have debt problems with CHASE?
- MAS replies to annoyed| 1 replyChase is horrible as far as their service goes. I have been paying them 30% interest for a while and my payments have been in good standing for years. They actually bought out the banks that my cards were originally with, and upon doing so, hiked the interest to a "standard" 30%. Granted, this last month or so I have been out of work which is why I am behind and the collection calls are coming in; however, they have no real "loyalty" to their customers. I just got a new job and start on monday. Believe me when I say, they are the first card to get paid off and cut. My favorite part of the call was when they asked me if I had friends or family that could cover the payment... like I never thought of that one. I know the person on the line is just doing their job and following a script, but whoever wrote that script should be on the receiving end and see how it feels.
- ArchangelOk folks, here are some things you can do.... Answer the first time they call each day, and tell them this "I have to advise you that I am recording this call". (BTW you SHOULD record all calls). They will most likely reply that they do not give you permission to record the call. If they keep talking say "As I informed you this call IS being recorded, if you continue this discussion I will take it as you giving approval for the call being recorded". If they didn't hang up before, they will now... The law only allows them to call ONE TIME PER DAY if they actually speak to you, so they will leave you alone the rest of the day. If they keep calling you can sue them, if they call over and over again and nobody is there when you answer you can sue them.... Keep good records and you can end this thing with them having to pay YOU instead of the other way around....
On a side note... DO NOT go with a debt consolidation firm!! You can do it yourself! The credit card companies are desperate. I wasn't even really behind (15 days because I forgot to pay)but they must have thought I would be defaulting because they called and offered a 43% settlement right off the bat on our first phone call. I probably could have done better if I had tried, but hey they offered so I took it. I made a condition be that nothing bad would appear on my credit report (made them put that and the settlement amount in a letter), and they agreed.... Right now you have all the power, don't let them push you around... Just keep in mind that whatever amount they forgive is taxable, so make sure you have enough money to cover the taxes.... Enjoy- Caller: Chase
- CaliThey are calling me consistently, and I am not late on my payments.
When i do answer the phone, they hang up!- Caller: Chase
- LinderThe person they are trying to reach is not at this number. They start at 8am, and continue calling every 15-20 minutes until 11pm, for the last 2 weeks.
- Caller: Unknown
- Call type: Debt collector
- cjCHASE calls me on my cell, while am in school, even at WORK!! I don't believe that calling me 15-20 times a day will help them get their money faster. I told the lady, "Didn't you call yesterday?!". "Well I am just as broke today as I was yesterday!" Their stategy doesn't work. It only stresses you out with the annoying phone calls.
I have programed their number into all my phones to a "silent" ring-tone. And it's working- Caller: CHASE
