I still think this is fishy.  When I went to log into my Yahoo email account this morning it popped up a screen that said they had detected questionable activity on my account and that I needed to either email or call for a verification code.  The screen was very confusing.  I clicked "call" and my cell phone rang immediately with the caller ID showing South San Francisco.  I did not answer.  Gave it a few minutes and was able to log into my Yahoo account without any problem.  If this really is Yahoo, they need a better system.

Yahoo sends you a code so, in addition to your password (Factor #1: something you know), you are asked for a one-time code, sent to your phone (Factor #2: something you have). They don't use biometrics (Factor #3: something you are). Most thriller/spy movies only use one of these methods, and the techies cringe.

I meant to press the "text me the code" button, but the mouse slipped and hit the "call me with the code" button, and my cell phone rang immediately. Waited a bit, then hit the "text" button, got the code, typed it in, and I logged on OK.

At some point in the past when you set up the Yahoo account, you must have given them your text/cell or landline number as a security backup. If something other than a one-time login code is being supplied to you, or there's a human on the line, then someone is spoofing their number.

Leigh, I hope you changed your password after that.

Claims to be Yahoo.  I also received text messages claiming to have the photos I requested.

I received text yahoo verification code around 3:48 am then after that I received a call from this number but no one answer , what do i do do because i think this is hacker

got this message from yahoo 5-14-16 & got on cell.  Today got same type message from gmail account. have retained their verify #'s on my cell.  have sent email to another gmail user to check if this happened to her also.  will update this when she responds

this number is used by yahoo to call people on their accounts for solicitation making money off your account with yahoo. I have saved all the numbers on a magic jack listing them as robocalls and this number comes up a lot for different companies. I went in my yahoo account and changed my phone number twenty minutes later that magic jack number rang with the same sales pitch. If you have yahoo as your mailing address you will get a lot of calls, they are selling your phone number under the associated business clause you agree to so they are not breaking the law.

I'm getting harassing calls

Called from 408-610-4900 to verify my new phone number on my Yahoo account.  I change my password on the account also.  It's a good idea to change your password on your email accounts every 6 months or so.  Bank account too.
