received a call from this number (408-610-4900) this morning and when I answered there was nobody on the line. I hung up and searched the number and some are saying yahoo and some are saying spam. I am going with spam as I do not deal with yahoo anymore and never will, please beware I think its spam.

Definitely scam, I woke up at 5am to my phone ringing from this number and 2 texts of verification codes.  That would be 3am CA time. Oh did I mention this is a company work phone, on a Saturday.

    Wondering
Got a call at 7am east coast time from this 408-610-4900 with an automated message code. Wife has a yahoo account, but was at work, so definitely didn't send it in to change password. Logged into her account, no emails from yahoo or any other activity that looks like a hack. Strange.

Yeah, this was a call from Yahoo with a verification code after I created a throwaway email address. It's legit.

This is Yahoo Security.  Because of the new Yahoo hacking issue, I changed all my email PW's and they called to verify info that I changed.  There may be some scammers using this number to spoof, but for me, it was legit.

    Louise replies to DH
Hello DH ,I have 3 yahoo accounts and I use tex sign in instead of regular passwords and this number 408 610 4900 is definitely yahoo cause I get texs and calls from this number all the time when I want to sign to my yahoo accounts. So if you haven't used yahoo in years then probably what happened is that someone was trying to sign in to their yahoo and has a number very similar to yours and when they tried to sign in to yahoo they entered your number instead of their own. I hope this helps, it happens all the time im sure. Louise

Sure DOES NOT sound like YAHOO to me. I got two calls in succession on Dec 12 2016.  Each were identical and sounded exactly like some guy warming up his yodeling act . . . That was it. No dialogue; just the brief "yodel" . NO CODES whatsoever.

@10:48 am cst got text msg "Tu clave de cuenta de Yahoo: 15709" displaying as coming "from 837401"
@10:50 am cst got call to my cell phone # from 408-610-4900 (didn't answer/no message; I didn't call back)
@10:51 am cst got 2nd text msg (again in Spanish - same as above) - except this one said "from 90633"
There is NO WAY this was legitimately tied to Yahoo:
1 - don't have and have never had any account w/Yahoo; and even if I did ...
2 - don't speak Spanish - so why would I ask for communication via text in Spanish ?
Whether spoofed, hacked, spam, scam, randomly dialed #, computer generated call list.....who cares when the recipient NEVER initiated any legitimate reason for contact ?  (BTW, using Bing from computer: translation of the msg is "Your Yahoo account password")
