I called back and it was a recording voice saying they are from yahoo

Sorry folks but it's also AOL with a spoofed message too.  Mine gave some long number and said AOL but the response was to long for my messaging and started late on the recorder.  So I gave it a proper burial...blocked!

I believe it is an automated call from AOL. I received a call at 6:40am Central time today, it only rang once.  Also received an email on my alternate contact email listed on my AOL account.  It stated they had sent me code because someone tried to access my AOL email account at 6:40am, location listed as Florida.  I do not live in Florida.

3 calls starting at 11:58pm and up to 12:01am 6/16/2018.  Says they are verifying me regarding my AOL account.  Have never had an AOL account.

I set up a account over the weekend to keep my girlfriend from hacking my email account. I got the verification code, installed it,  and now I get another call this am, Monday. Is there a live person that I can talk to ? I want to know if this person was given another number to use to gain access into my account.

Eastern time phone call at 12:17 am....woke me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Must have been the same issue. I received a long distance charge on my cell phone thru fido. I am in Ontario Canada, and have no one I know in San Jose CA. So it must have been the verification code to get access to my yahoo mail.

call from aol in san jose ca gives me a code in order to get into my email.  it works once then can't get email again an then they call again and give me another code.  Now not calling anymore and can't get my aol  mail again.

Yes, that is because you agreed to changing your password.

I would suggest that you go to the official AOL website and ask them  https://help.aol.com/contact

the same thing is happening to me.  don't know how to get into email unless using these codes

Think it is a scam,left a 8 digit # and said AOL. Which never had that on answering service on home phone.

Right, I did try to set up a Yahoo email account. It uses the same onscreen form as AOL. The problem is that the phone call with a verification code comes to the cell phone much later, when I am somewhere else. So it is a legitimate call. It tried me three times in three minutes. The process is lame for both Yahoo and  AOL, and I set up the account with another company.

Left no message. Called at 4:41EST on 10/10

I was on the computer and a message came on to verify my phone # and 2 minutes later my phone rang and said they were verifying my phone # and it was a tape.

I got a call from 408-610-4900 at 4:39 AM!! There was a nonsensical voicemail message left (something about Yahoo), then I got another call 1 minute later and another message left. Then a 3rd call 1 minute later, at 4:41 AM! The same voicemail was left all 3 times! I wish I knew who to yell at for waking me up at that hour!!

Didn't know the number, didn't answer.  They left no message.  Suspect spam.

I received a call from the same same number and it gave me a code and said Good bye from aol at the end of the call
