Brad, shut up and pay attention. I DON"T HAVE A HOME DEPOT CARD, and I have had this phone number for 10 + years, so I know it isn't because I got someone elses number. I have never had a HD card, ever, and neither does anyone else living here. If they call foks non-stop who don't have cards, how can you say Pay your bills??? I am not paying any bill that is not mine. I think you are the one that is ridiculous.

The callers from this number never start with "hello I am from....".  Instead, the caller's message starts with "press 5" or "press 2".  I never finish listening to the message because I know it is a scam.  The problem is, I get calls from this number 3 to 6 times a day.  Now, when my phone rings and my caller ID shows the # 423-477-6983, I do not answer the call.  Instead, I pick up the phone and disconnect the caller immediately.  I called my phone service (Qwest) and they cannot block this phone number without blocking all others who call from private lines.  Qwest suggested I call the feds @ 1-800-582-0655 to resolve this nagging and frustrating issue.  Any other suggestions are welcome.  By the way, is there a way that all the complaints (regarding 423-477-6983) reported on this web page can be sent to the feds as evidence of unlawful practices?

I did the old Jerry Seinfield on them, I told them that I was busy and to let me have their home telephone number and I'll them back.  It worked because they hung up on me, but they did call back later and I did the same thing all over again.

I got a call from them this morning but they didn't leave a message. It was for the HD account which I had seen in an email last night that it was 3 days late, so  i payed it  online. If they would just allow you to set it up to came out automatically then I wouldn't forget about it. But it is Citi Financial, I didn't call the  number that called me, I called Citibank and they confirmed it was one of their call centers.

I answered the phone and the guy said he was from TD Ameritrade and wanted to give investment advice?  I told him to call back and now hes been calling 6 times a day for a week every hour or so!! Sounds like a scam!

Legitimate, Citi Bank for the Home Depot card. They called to tell me I forgot to pay last months bill. I told them I would send out a check immediately  they said thanks and that was it.

Got 4 phone calls saying I owe money on my account.  Been paid off for some time.  Owe nothint

This was from Home Depot, I was late on a payment, and my past due amount was less than $20.00.

First got the call on a Saturday, went into Home Depot and made a $60 payment, the calls kept coming until Monday afternoon, then stopped.

Started receiving calls on 11/12/10 for a payment that was due on 11/2/10.....only 10 days overdue!!
This is ridiculous.  Now we're receiving calls 5-6 times a day/7 days a week (yes, even on Sundays!).
My husband has been out of work for a year and I don't work during the summer (school employee) and can't collect unemployment during the summer do to state laws.  They won't work with us.  Sometimes you just have to pay the bills that'll keep a roof over your head, clothes on your kids backs, and food in your stomach.  Can't believe this is what it's come to!

Get this phone number calling me constantly. But no one is on other end.

I have been getting calls from this number for the past month constantly!  I don't know anyone from TN so I googled it to find out it's a supposed debt collector for Home Depot.  I don't even own a Home Depot credit card!  I swear we should be able to block calls using a cell phone, especially with today's technology!  I read some of the posts and I would not recommend making a payment over the phone.  The way these people call constantly and I have not yet answered one of their calls, but in spite of not even owing any debt to them, really raises a RED FLAG to me with their harassment!  If it was a debt I owed, I would simply go to their website and make a payment.  This has to be a scam and I will report this number to my local officials and suggest more people report it locally, otherwise scammers keep getting away with it!

I'll second the view that this sounds like a scam. We've been getting continuous calls from this number and 423-469-6980 (a related caller from what we can find online). We do not have accounts with either Home Depot or Citi; even did a 3-bureau check with our credit monitoring service and don't see any illegitimate new accounts.

I've read that some people are being asked for their date of birth and/or Social Security # when talking with these folks, which is another big RED FLAG.

I paid Home Depot 2x in Nov.so I wouldn't have to worry about the Dec. payment because I was going away for the holidays. I found out if you pay credit cards more than one time in a month they will only apply it to that month.When I got home and found out that I had a late fee plus a no payment for Dec. I was furious. They apologized and recinded the late fee but I had to make an extra payment because of this policy.I never knew this.Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? Oh! This # has called 4x today but Home Depot claims they didn't put me into collections because I've never been late and always pay more than the minimum.SO! who do you believe?
