Well I've got a better solution than letting HD or any creditor having you cell phone number. I bought one of those MagicJack.com USB phone devices, it is registered to my name and even has my address registered to 911 in my area. BUT, I plug it in to my computer using my broadband cable modem when I want to use the "LANDLINE" phone, rather than my cell phone. I logged on to the Home Depot credit website and changed my phone to the MagicJack number, now they can leave all the messages they want, but they do not have a snow ball's chance in ..... of getting me on the phone, so please call all they want.

They are a collection agency for Home Depot. They will call at least 3 times a day. I have worked with them and they work with you if you write them a letter.

8-24-08 (Sunday) 10:55 a.m. Answered phone hoping it wouldn't wake my granddaugher.  Person asked to speak to someone I've never heard of.  I asked "Who?"  She repeated the name, I told her I had never heard of the person and hung up.  After thinking about it (identify theft, etc.), I called 866# left earlier.  After umpteen options/waiting talked to a lady in TX who asked for my acct #.  Told her I don't have one and that someone called my home asking for person I've never heard of.  I refused to give her any info.  She said someone "may" have keyed in a wrong digit.
That didn't make me feel any better.  Also told her I didn't appreciate the call on Sunday, it did wake my granddaughter, and that I was reporting the numbers to the National Do Not Call Register.
I sent email to Home Depot Customer Care; received response 9-12-08: "We certainly regret to hear of the phone calls you have been receiving regarding an account that is not yours.  Please accept this letter as confirmation that we have removed your phone number from that account."

Called 6-times today (10/7/08). It's an autodialer reminder from Citigroup Consumer Cards (Home Depot Account). Each time I answered no one was on the other end so I called them back to know the reason of the constant calling and silence.

The rep started asking me all sort of weird personal questions So I hang up and called the number on the back of the card to verify. Turns out their system calls account holders at random to remind them of Payment.  When you call them back to debate this they **immediately** recognized your account is in good standing and your last payment was on time. So stupid.

Since April 2008 I have received many calls each day from Citi Card in Gray Tennessee regarding credit cards that were cut-up and returned to retailers National Bank in South Dakota. The Home Depot charged me $37.00 for late charges on a payment mailed to them (6) days before due date and would not remove the charges. I had never been late before and paid off the account in full. The second card from "Target" was cut-up and returned to the same bank for not removing a purchase on the internet where I was charged twice and I returned the product to the company. This information was also sent to Target National Bank and they ignored this issue for four and half months - after four months of trying to correct this problem myself the company would not remove the double charge from my account. I have always paid off my accounts in full. Apparently, both cards were issued by "Citi Bank" in the names of "Target" and "Home Depot" no wonder "Citi Bank" is involved in the problem!!!

To date, have probably gotten 50+ calls from this collection agency looking for the person who USED to work here.  Of the times I have answered the phone, I tell these idiots that not only is the guy they're looking for has been gone for 2 years, but also our company will be pursuing legal action if they don't stop the harrassment.  Doesn't seem to have done any good - these jerks keep calling.

I believe this is Home Depot - the calls started, for me, when I was 10 days late with my payment.  It was a complete oversight.  I Just paid online and informed them of the payment - hopefully, the calls will end soon.

These people must call my house 20 times a day and there is never anyone there i have started to answer the phone in different accents to see if they say anything but nothing at all. When you call it back it is just a recording for Citi Cards. If they have a question why won't they answer when i say hello. This is really anoying they start calling at about 7 in the morning. Not Cool.

If they won't stop until I answer or call them back, they'll be calling forever because I'm deaf.  This is my cell phone, which I use for texting only.  I do have a home depot account, but I always pay it on time, and as of this month, the account has been paid in full.

My phone is for MY convenience, not anyone elses.  If I choose not to answer my phone because I don't have a home depot account, or even if I don't recognize a number, that is my choice to make.  If someone needs to reach me, they can leave a message or call me back.  If they don't leave a message, they won't hear from me. By the way, why don't you work there anymore?

get these calls all day long, pre-recorded message states please hold the line an operator will be with you shortly, I always hang-up. when i allow my answering machine to answer no message is ever left. Yes I hope these scammers are caught and thrown in jail.

My bf just got like 15 calls from this number in the last 2 or 3 days.... I don't know about the rest of you but he doesn't answer the phone for numbers he doesn't know and they never leave a message so I looked it up on this site... We are only like a week late on payment and this is the first time... They are acting like it's been months.... Does this tactic of calling over and over and over and well you get the idea, really work? Cuz all it's doing to us is pissing us off... We will be there on Friday with your freakin money chill out !!!

I got a call from the above number which went to my answering machine  it was a recording saying if I was Phil press 1 if not press 2. When I got home and heard it I dial the number that called, it said it was Citicorp and to please enter my credit card number. Nottttttttt!!!!!!

We get the calls showing this number at our home all day also.  It's annoying, but we don't let it bother us.  They don't leave messages either.
We're the same way, if the numbers are not familiar to us we just don't answer the calls.

They call every day, four or five times a day. If you answer, they ask for your name, but won't tell you who they are before you verify that you are who they are calling for. If you refuse to answer their questions until they tell you who they are, they ignore you asking them who they are and repeat themselves. If you ignore their call, they hang up when they get your voicemail or leave a voicemail that says: "hello. hello. hello?" and then hang up. They even started calling other members of my family that I don't even live with and they do the same thing to them. They ignored my family's requests to never be called again at that number. The number they called that was my family members was never even on my account. So obviously they are going through the phonebook of something. I'm assuming all of this because I was literally a couple days late on a f-ing payment.... I am guessing, because I STILL don't know who this was harassing me.

5 Calls in 2 days.  Finally on the last one they left an automated message from Citi Bank.  What an absurd system.  There's no live people you can speak with because their call center is closed.  Autodialer shouldn't be on if there is no live person you can speak with.  The funny thing is that they are calling me for a $10 payment that is only a few days late.  It's completely my fault that I let this $10 payment slip my mind.  I know banks are having a tough time but this is ridiculous.  These people have probably already spent a lot more than $10 trying to collect.  I love how some employees of Citi have posted here saying they are just doing their job.  Please!  If you expect people to be courteous to you then call at a decent hour and have a live person on the other end and not dead air or an automated attendant.  These people are just 1 step away from asking "would you like fries with that?".  And that would be a step up.  They love to hide behind "I'm just doing my job".  If this is "your choice" of jobs then you really need to look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if it's really worth it.  It must be so fulfilling making $8-$10 doing this dirty work for the fat-cats at Citibank.  Make the over compensated CEo's man the call center for a few hours!  We taxpayers are having to fork over billions in bailouts for the huge banks and they still continue to waste money with unwanted solicitations and junkmail.  I get tons of it and Citibank is the worst of the bunch.  I say let these big banks fail and give the bailout money to the taxpayers where it belongs.  We aren't the ones that gave out all of those loans to people that shouldn't have gotten them in the first place.  All of those loan officers and upper management should be prosecuted for their predatory lending practices.  I realize I'm off topic a little but not completely off base.  The banks are the ones responsible for the problems they have and we have to bail them out.  What a crock!  And to these collection folks, Get a real job!

Try getting a VOIP phone, you can block their calls and keep them from calling you. I have phonepower.com but you can ger vonage or some other service in most areas.

If you have broadband or dsl just get VOIP and block anomyous calls or block their number permanently. Your phone will never ring and they get a busy signal! There are several out there, I have phonepower.com, vonage, all kinds of them. Can check messages on the internet, block on the net etc. Most regular phone companies have caller block too for pretty cheap monthly. It will solve everyones problem...

I received two calls from 423-477-6983 caller stated she was from Home Depot collection deparment said I owed money. I do not owe any money to Home Depot.
