This number belongs to Citi, which administers the credit card for Home Depot.  I'm acquainted with one of their collectors.  Their collections operations have several call centers, one of which is in the Dallas area.

If you get a call from this number, you are in their computer dialer and the calls will NOT stop until you call them back from the number they called.  If you don't owe them money, tell them so, they're pretty good about stopping the calls in a day or two.

If you do owe them money, pay it.

I have a home depot account, but I enrolled in a payment plan months ago. I was contacted by a 800 number not a 423, and they send me statments to that affect. when I enrolled in the program, they never told me I would need to renew at any time, as long as I made my scheduled payments I wonder why the people is Tennesse is not on the same page.

Okay, I have gotten 4 calls today. I'm glad I googled this number. The area code tipped me off. Like some of you I don't even have a credit card! Much less one from HD! Unfortunatly I cannot answer due to it costing me $10 a minute on my cell for out of state calls. Although if this does continue I will go down to HD with this number and not leave until I am absolutely sure I won't get anymore calls. If I were any of you I wouldn't answer anyway. Especially if all you might hear on the other end is static or some sort of 'white' noise. That static could mean a number of things, they could be going through your cell phone to get your information. Or they could use your phone to contact and get sensitive information from your service provider. Such as your social security number, name, ect. The best thing to do is to contact your phone provider asking to block the number.

I do not have a home depot account, nor will I ever open one now due to this, even if I would have considered it sometime in the future. These [***] called me at 6:30 AM!!!! On a Saturday!!!! What are they thinking? I am filing a complaint, not that anything every really will come of it.

I have a brand new work cell that keeps getting calls from 423-477-6983. They are happening at all hours weekdays and weekends. I do not have a Home Depot Account, nor does the company I work for. If this is the way Home Depot works I will be sure to never get an account with them.

I did Indeed call the 800 number to get off their list. I had to go through a very long wait and three people because i do NOT have an account. Fifteen minutes later they tell me that they are looking for some guy named Jason. Wow, how nice. Then I had THREE MORE CALLS!!! So I reported them to the BBB and called their 800 number again. maybe this time I will be off their damnable list. Thanks for this website, I appriciate having a direction to vent my frustrations. Just got a call from this number. I don't answer strange numbers so it went to voice mail. Yup, it's Home Depot's Credit Service. I actually used to have a Home Depot card but it's been closed out. In fact, they had to send me a check for $60 because I accidentally OVERPAID the account before I closed it. I'm going to answer next time just to see what they have to say.

Just got another call from them. There was a man on the other end with a slight Southern accent. He very politely asked for someone I've never heard of. I told him that I didn't know the woman. He verified the number that he called (which was indeed mine), thanked me for my time and hung up. He was very pleasant.

Home Depot phone number, they will start collecting right away before you send in a payment. It belongs to the company.

Citibank/Home Depot/Colletion agency keeps calling my home phone number and for 3 weeks we keep telling them that this is a new residence and the phone number has been assigned to us by AT&T; even though we keep telling them this, the computer keeps calling us, HELP!

I keep getting calls on my cell phone from home depot credit/citi bank every day like 5 times a day. this has been happening for a year now. first of all i am 17 n dont have a credit card at all and they kept calling and sometimes leave a message saying "This is Citibank trying to contact John about his Home Depot credit. We would like to extend your credit ...." at first i never picked up the calls but then i was getting tired of getting called while i was in school n at work that i decided to pick it up one day... I even told them that to stop calling because this is not john n that i have to account with them. the calls stopped for 3 months. now im still getting the very same phone calls again from the same guy.. how many times will i have to call them to tell them they have the wrong #.

We just got a call from them - although it was a live person and when we explained that the person he was looking for did not reside at this phone number, he quickly got off.  In our case, the deadbeat used to live downstairs at our address (duplex - we are upstairs) and they traced our phone number to our address.

Did not answer but I do have a Homedepo card so I need to report this to them ///Please someone else call home depo report these people might have stolen information

for what's it worth, i did actually forget to pay a home depot bill and it was in fact home depot calling me.

Well I've got a better solution that all of that. I bought one of those MagicJack.com USB phone devices, it is registered to my name and even has my address registered to 911 in my area. BUT, I plug it in to my computer using my computer (broadband cable modem) when I want to use the "LANDLINE" phone, rather than my cell phone. I logged on to the Home Depot credit website and changed my phone to the MagicJack number, now they can leave all the messages they want, but they do not have a snow ball's chance in ..... of getting me on the phone, so please call all you want. If you don't like the way I pay my accounts - cancel my cards, I can shop else where - you know ! I have over $60,000 debts, I can just stop paying everybody anything, and start over in seven years with a clear and clean credit report. Don't push people like me - we will revolt!
