My husband and I just got scammed by the same exact person. Lucky I was smart enough to google her name. Thank you guys! I hope they find her!

She's trying the same song & dance in California. She sent me pictures that I searched in Google (shout out to the TV show Catfish for that idea!) & one of them is from a Pilates instructor's website (http://www.laurastevensonpilates.com/category/bali).

What's even worse is that she's using a story about her mother's death as a way to gain sympathy. I don't even know how to wrap my head around that. Maybe that's a good thing that I can't understand it.

I am in Columbus Ohio and she sent me the same story. Has anyone reported her to Craig's list or the officials?

Yes you right i just got check from petal williams she is scams i will report her to police. Found her in graig list . I was looking some one to rent room. She wrote fake lettle about my mom died of cancer same one you got.this is scan.

I responded to an ad in Charleston, SC a few days ago.  The messages that I received from "Petal" are exactly the same ones that Rich received.  I am always suspicious of others and would have never sent back any money in response to an ad.  There is supposed to be a check on the way to me.  I thought it was a scam from the start.  Thank you for starting this post.

Yup, Petal Williams tried in NM as well. Same scenario from Ruth and/or Sarah Johnson saying they were from Alaska.

I saw her ad on Craigslist for Long Island, NY. Now she's calling herself Petal Richards, but the story is exactly the same. I even received the same form letter reply. Very creepy.

I am looking for a roommate and I contacted her. She gave me the same story. I live in central ny

I have been dealing same thing with her.  She sent me cashier checks and I checked with my banker.  They said its real money order.  She kept asking me to send money to India.  I got suspcious about it.  So I am going to report her to scam and hope someone could stop her one way or another.  

Forgot to add some more info.  I happen to have a close friend who came from India.  She said "Petal" in India is always the last name not the first name.  So I got to report her on Craiglist.  I will report her to scam.  We all need to do that so hopefully she will be caught soon.  

Answered an ad on Craigslist for housekeeper in my area... got this email back from PETAL  WILLIAMS... I called the Real Estate company that has the house up for sale... they confirmed that no one was moving into the home as it was still up for sale....

I'm in Florida and just got the same email regarding roommate. This time her name is Petal Richards. I always do my own researches before answering,  so here is another things I found on FACEBOOK

Is this just a coincidence?
That could be the scammer or the scammer used this woman basic info's except location.

You can report it to your local FBI office and to Craigslist. Any info may help catch this person!

Hi All, so glad that there is an internet with information like that:-). She just contacted me to rent a room. Talking aobut her mother that recently died from cancer, wanting to start a new life. Who wants to help to get her. Any suggestions on how to do that?

That would make sense. She sent a picture of her with her last e-mail and the picture just did not look like the person I asumed behind the writing.

She is going by the name Petal Richards now, still in Sioux falls SD, Travel nurse/Yoga/Christian believer/ gave me the number (605) 655-8506

She got a hold of me in Wisconsin as well.  I was a bit suspicious and did my due diligence.  It is a bit suspicious when someone wants to send you a certified check without a contract or anything!  I feel sorry for all the people that she probably scams.  I know most people are a bit more trusting than I am.

Well, I would also like to post it here, I am victim , and innocent out of you all I guess. and here is the number she gave me ,  443-345-9783 , and the stories she wrote me made me feel okay and because of her busy schedule she couldnt call me .I assumed :( .. and this incident happened to me in Oct 2013, i got the bank of america cheque and got deposited into my bank and as per her request I did online bank transfer to BOA account also, I lost $2098. But neither I could trace nor I could withdraw my online transfer of funds. Exactly she responded to my roomate ad posted in WI area , on craiglist, but I never had any bad experience of roomates, so i never doubted . Please let us all try to catch her so that no one else like me get cheated by her , or by the team managing to do all this by  a lady name.
